Introduction

Hey guys! This is a team I've been trying to put together for a while now, and I think I've got it as close as I can get it to being decent. I'm pretty new to team building, and trying my best to learn, so any and all suggestions are appreciated! With that out of the way, let's get into the team building process.

Teambuilding Process

I chose Mega-Sharpedo because he is my favorite Mega in UU. The reason being is his cleaning capabilities. Can't tell you how many times I've thought I lost and got a double protect speed boost to save the game. He's just plain nasty!

cobalion.png

I chose Cobalion next because he's a nice and bulky Mon that can put quite the dent in some of Sharp's checks. He's also a backup setup sweeper that can be pretty scary if you make the right predictions. I chose Fightium Z for him because Scizor usage is on the rise and Sharpedo does not appreciate a healthy Scizor

gengar.png

I chose Gengar as my special wall breaker and spinblocker. He's also the only Scarf Mon on the team. Normally I'd use specs, but I found scarf caught a lot of people off guard.

raikou.png

I chose Raikou because I wanted a decently fast, volt switcher, but I also wanted another setup sweeper up my sleeve. Raikou helps get rid of the bulky water types that Sharpedo hates.

gliscor.png

Gliscor is my rocker, and he also completes the volt-turn duo with Raikou that helps me with initiative while also chipping away at the enemy team.

I had a hard time choosing my last team member. I tried swampert but with breloom usage sky high, latias seemed like the better special wall. Not to mention Raikou and Cobalion LOVE coming back in with full health again via healing wish.

The Team

sharpedo.gif

Sharpedo @ Sharpedonite
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Protect
- Ice Fang
- Psychic Fangs
- Crunch
The ultimate late game cleaner! (IMO) I just plain love this Mon, but he serves a grand purpose on this team. He can either wall break early game, or mow through half their team late game. I chose Adamant because I find myself more often than not having to use his STAB Crunch on a Mon that I don't have coverage for, and sometimes that's the difference between a W or an L

cobalion.gif

Cobalion @ Fightinium Z
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Iron Head
- Rock Polish
- Swords Dance
Cobalion is my setup sweeper, and he can take a hit pretty well naturally. He takes care of a lot of sharpedo's checks which helps me clean in the late game, and he can power through because of healing wish. Also, mega altaria is annoying. Calc-.252 Atk Cobalion Iron Head vs. 0 HP / 252 Def Altaria-Mega: 152-180 (52.2 - 61.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO.

gengar.gif

Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sludge Wave
- Energy Ball
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Gengar sits at a pretty good speed tier, and he's a great special wall breaker. And the choice scarf makes him a pretty big threat. I like to double out into raikou after revealing hp ice and killing the gliscors early in the game.

raikou.gif

Raikou @ Expert Belt
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Calm Mind
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
Rakou can force a lot of things out, and with expert belt hp ice, gliscors will fall very easily. Volt switch for initiative. And calm mind for when I force a saitch.

gliscor.gif

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
- Swords Dance
My defensive pivot and Rock setter. Earthquake is a beast when you can get swords dance off. And U-turn for chipping away at the bulky water types.

latias.gif

Latias @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Defog
- Healing Wish
- Draco Meteor
Healing wish is great for when I either need to do more damage and force something out again with either Cobalion or Raikou. I can also use Sharpedo as a wall breaker early, and healing wish it at late game

Conclusion

I'm going positive with this team, so any advice is welcome!

First thing that i can see is that your team is pretty damn weak to Kyurem (common threat to offenses but you should pay attention to it) but also pretty weak to Volcanion considering your latias can't heal itself. Nidoking basicly does a kill each time it goes out, another common threat to offense but you can help it out. I won't change any pokemon but at least i'll change a few sets to improve the effectivness of your team :

- First change i'd make is on Gengar

Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sludge Wave
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Scarf needs timid to be able to kill other scarfs such as Infernape but also to tie Latias, Focus blast will allow you to hit bulky steel types such as Aggron.

- Second change i'd make is on Raikou

Raikou @ Expert Belt
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Extrasensory
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch

Kept the expext belt seems like a fun thing to use to kill Gliscor or Latias, Extrasensory will help you to handle Breloom which is a huge problem for your team specially if it holds Spore considering your Gliscor can't touch it at all, another set that would work well is a Sub / CM with leftovers but you wanna keep that VSwitch i guess.

- Third change i'd make is on Gliscor

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 76 Atk / 188 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
- Roost

Your set was pretty much the worst i've ever seen (sorry xd). Gliscor defo needs speed in UU to shine like it should, as i said your team is weak to Nidoking but also to band Entei which will be handled by this set as you'll outspeed them both. Swords dance is only usefull if you're running a Facade set otherwise get rid of it for some recovery

- Forth change i'd make is on Latias

Latias @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Defog
- Recover
- Draco Meteor

Not a huge change but it should help a lot handling those Volcanions and Breloom, recover is a must on LO sets considering how fast you'll get down with rocks and recoil + the fact that you're supposed to switch into some moves. You can also run Soul dew considering you don't have HPFire, it could help a lot keeping it high health cause it'll be mandatory to do so in most matchups.

Hope this helps, if you got any questions feel free to ask me !

Thanks man! I'll try out the changes and let you know what I think. I don't mind Pokemon changes either if you suggest a change.

Helped a ton! The only time I have a slight problem with breloom anymore is a focus sash one. Used to be a big problem. Gengar and gliscor are putting in a lot more work too! Thanks man.
