ORAS UU M-Sharpedo Team

Hi! Here Alfonso Dragonlord posting a really nice M-Sharpedo Team that I made with my friend Yamil. Is a really powerful offensive team with some support from Crobat and Hippowdon to guarantee the effectiveness of the sweepers. Let's start:

Teambuilding process:
latest

M-Sharp was obviously the first member. Beeing a really good cleaner, it is supposed to end the match after one or two speed boosts.

Beeing resistant to fighting and fairy, Crobat is a good partner, because it sponge fighting attacks and can beat 1vs1 almost every deffensive fairy thanks to taunt.

The team accumulated a huge electric weakness, so SpD Hippowdon was added to take care of volturners, while providing other really valuable support in the form of stealth rocks and yawn.

Then, Shaymin was added as a main check/counter to CroCune and other Suicune variants that have been seen recently.

The ice weakness of the team was also very noticeable, so we added Chandy to keep typing synergy balanced. Also she acted as a spinblocker.

Last but not least, we have Lucario. The team lacked a strong priority, so SD Luke came to patch that.

Sharpedo @ Sharpedonite
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Protect
- Crunch
- Destiny Bond / Waterfall
- Hydro Pump Ice Fang

The main star of the team. Sharpedo is probably the best clenaer of UU right now, having the advantage of changing moves over scarf Mienshao. Protect is mandatory to outspeed threads with speed boost, but in a lot of situations he can kill without mega evolving and accumulate 2 speed boosts to ensure outspeeding even scarfers. Crunch is the main move to spam, making a lot of damage on almost all the non-dark-resistant meta. Hydro Pump is nice to break through Physically Deffensive Hippo, that takes 80-94% damage; and Gligar too, that takes 72-85%. In the last slot, destiny bond may be used to wear down bulkier targets, or waterfall can be useful to hit water-weak mons without risking hydro misses, for example M-Aerodactyl if rocks weren't up.

Edit:
Protect / Crunch / Waterfall / Ice Fang gives better coverage and synergy with the rest of the team in general, allowing to beat Hydreigon and Crobat easily.

latest

Crobat @ Black Sludge
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 232 HP / 76 Def / 200 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Defog
- Taunt

Crobat is a really important member of the team. He provides really valuable support with defog and taunt, which helps to beat stally fairys (Florges mainly) in a 1vs1. 232 HP EVs makes Crobat's HP number a 16 multiple plus one, maximizing black sludge's recovery and reducing stealth rock's damage. 200 speed EVs and a jolly nature makes this bat outspeed max. speed Noivern, allowing to put some EVs into defense to sponge better fighting type attacks from the likes of Mienshao, Heracross and Infernape, which threatens Sharpedo.

latest

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 240 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Slack Off
- Yawn / Toxic / Whirlwind

Hippo is the hazard setter and tank, beeing able to take hits from both sides of the spectrum relatively comfortable, while slacks off the damage and hits with STAB earthquake from it's decent base stat attack. In the last slot we used yawn to threaten walls with putting them to sleep, but toxic and whirlwind can be used to deal with set-up sweepers too.

shaymin_by_creepyjellyfish-d7a491j.gif

Shaymin @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Seed Flare
- Earth Power
- Rest / Synthesis
- Dazzling Gleam Psychic (suggested by OG_Wanka )

Next we have Shaymin, a really powerful wallbreaker and primal Suicune counter, mainly to it's highly spamable STAB that is seed flare, which helps to break even through dedicated special walls due to the probable SpD drop. Earth Power and Dazzling Gleam gives nice coverage and threatens switch ins such as Aggron (before mega evolving), Infernape, Hydreigon, Arcanine, Entei, Chandelure, etc. Finally rest allows Shaymin to recover all HP, waking up when switching in. If the loss of momentum that it causes is not of your pleasure, synthesis can be another option to use.

Edit:
Psychic over dazzling gleam prevents Crobat switching in freely against Shaymin, and killing the opposing defogger is nice early-game, furthermore this team was a bit weak to this bat.
*Note that this choice will make the team a bit weak to Noivern, but Sharpedo's Ice fang can deal with it*
latest

Chandelure @ Choice Specs
Ability: Flash Fire / Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Trick
- Fire Blast
- Energy Ball

Chandy is the secondary wallbreaker and check to Suicune (mainly CroCune, and other set up sweepers as well) due to tricking it's specs. Fire Blast is it's main move to spam, but if fire misses afraids you, flamethrower is other option, but generally inferior. Chandy also acts as a spinblocker, but, despite beeing terrible switching in common spinners like Tentacruel, Blastoise-mega and Donphan, she simply can threaten with switching in and blocking the spin, having the opportunity to hit back with a really powerful STAB specs-boosted. The preferred ability is flash fire due to it's synergy with Luke and Shaymin, but infiltrator is also really useful against sub set up sweepers and screens Hyper Offense.

latest

Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Ice Punch

At this point, Luke is more like a filler, providing other needed ice resist, but also gives a nice and strong priority in ESpeed, and a solid form of set up in swords dance (also combined with justified). Close Combat is used over High Jump Kick because of the eternally hated High Jump Miss hax. Finally, ice punch is for simple ice coverage, which prevents gligar from walling Luke, but other options like crunch or earthquake are nice to deal with Chandelure and Cresselia.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/uu-221142466 Vs M-Ampharos offense

Threatlist:
Crobat: My own set is a pain for the team. I need rocks up to pressure him and put it in range of Sharpedo's Crunch. Taunt completely cripples Hippo and BB does a good damage to all my team. My best way to deal with it is checking with Chandy's fire blast.

sup man this looks like a pretty solid team. Looking at your threat list I do have a suggestion that can kinda help out with your crobat problem. I would suggest psycic over dazzling gleam on shaymin as 90% of the time if your opponent only has crobat for a shaymin switch in they will bring it in on your shaymin and u can bop them with a psycic and do loads to it.

252 SpA Life Orb Shaymin Psychic vs. 200 HP / 4 SpD Crobat: 255-302 (70.6 - 83.6%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

good chance to ohko after rocks and if you take it out the defogger your rocks will be up for good.

I know hydro pump was prolly a cool idea for you and I understand you like 2hkoing hippo and glig. However if you do want more reliable cleans I strongly suggest you run waterfall as hydro pump is not a reliable cleaning move for you as you dont have any spA invest and waterfall still has a decent chance to 2hko hippo and gligar as all u need to rocks damage which means those mons are not switching in anyways. Also these mons are not as concerning for you as you have a shaymin, ice punch luc for lures and a taunt crobat to deal with those guys.

252+ Atk Mega Sharpedo Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Hippowdon: 194-230 (46.1 - 54.7%) -- 60.9% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

252+ Atk Mega Sharpedo Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Gligar: 144-170 (43.1 - 50.8%) -- 96.5% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock (most don't run max defense anyways)

Thanks for the suggestions! The choice of using dazzling gleam or psychic in Shaymin to threaten Crobat or Hydreigon and KO one of them in the switch was really difficult, 'cause without dazzling gleam, most Hydreigon variants will make a party against the team. A solution to this may be using this moveset in M-Sharp: protect, waterfall, crunch and ice fang, combining with psychic Shaymin to deal with Crobat easily. I'll edit it and try in the team.
