Alright, so with a little more testing and such, I kinda revamped my original Swampert team, and since its been awhile I remade the thread.
Again, I reiterate: I don't use legends, Yes, I plan on making this team on cartridge to battle friends.
@ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Ice Beam
- Protect
- Scald
- Perish Song
I was thinking about switching it up a bit though. Maybe trying a more.....Offensive set rather than defensive, since I have found that generally I just keep switching in and out Politoad to set rain. Therefore, he doesn't stay in enough during battle to take a lot of Damage...Until the end when he's my Only poke left....
@ Swampertite
Ability: Damp
EVs: 100 HP / 252 Atk / 154 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
- Waterfall
- Protect
Mega Swampert is my main Physical Attacker of the team. Ive maxed attack, and split the rest into HP and Speed, with a little more emphasis on Speed. I did this cause I found Swampert to still be slow, even with swift swim in the rain. He can still get out-sped, but Ive found it to be less than when more EVs were put into HP. Pretty basic move slot stuff. EQ, waterfall= Stab. Ice Punch= Coverage. Protect cause Doubles.
@ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Substitute
- King's Shield
- Shadow Ball
- Flash Cannon
Orginally a Gengar in this slot, I found him to be lacking any staying power. After a few testing, a more walled Version of Aegi was suggested. Well, the movest was suggested, then the EV spread..just happened. Ive found the bulk to be greatly needed on my team...but I feel like he needs a tad more speed on him. Ive kinda come to a point where Im not sure where to take the Ev's from, or if maybe Im just going a little speed crazy.
@ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 100 HP / 154 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Rain Dance
- Thunderbolt
- Will-O-Wisp
Rotom is my Special attacker/ emergency Rain setter, though Ive been finding I haven't really been using that second part (namely cause I just keep switching Politoad in.) I went with Rotom in his mow form for a few reasons. The first was that I needed a little more Grass resist(back in the beginning when I was first testing), the second was that I wanted something that could set up rain in case Politoad went down. Leaf Storm and T-Bolt seemed like the best options, and Will-o-wisp seems to be a standard on Rotom. I maxed out speed cause I wanted to be able to get rain up again ASAP (if needed). I gave it a little Bulk and put the rest into Sp.Att.
@ Life Orb
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Air Slash/ Hp Ground
- Giga Drain
- Protect
I've been told Yanmega isnt all that great....But Ive found that this guy works just fine on this team. I was looking for something fast. Yes, there are other Speed Boost Users that would probably work better, but I like the fact that Yanmega doesnt need to worry about EQ's from M.Swampert and has a recovery move to boot. I went the special root, since Swampert was Physical. Bug Buzz for stab (also helps with Grass types) Giga Drain to heal, and protect for some free Boosts. I've Hit a snag with deciding between Air Slash and Hp Ground. Air Slash is a Second Stab, and come in very handy, whilst Hp Ground is good against steel types (mainly Heatran, though I have not faced many, they have been a thorn in my side). Both seem like excellent options in there own right.
@ Focus Sash
Ability: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spore
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Seed
- Protect
Breloom is usually the First Pokemon out (along with Politoad of course). His main Purpose is Spore. If I only get one asleep, HUZZAH! He has done his job. Anything after is just Icing on the cake. I went With Technician once it was suggested to me, and it was worth listening to that suggestion. Mach Punch and Bullet seed for Stab.
((As I write this, Ive come to realize I have a Glaringly obvious weakness to Fire.....))
I thank you all for your time and suggestions!
