[SET COMMENTS]
Machoke's role as a physical tank is unmatched thanks to its phenomenal coverage. Knock Off complements Machoke's Close Combat by nailing offensive Ghost- and Psychic-types like Gourgeist-L and Lunatone and debilitating Eviolite walls like Charjabug and Dusclops. Bullet Punch provides priority against faster threats like Mr. Mime, Galarian Mr. Mime, and Silvally-Ice. Machoke's final coverage move depends on what targets you wish to have an improved match up against; Earthquake hits Steel-types without jeopardizing its defenses from Close Combat, Poison Jab lures Shiinotic for the 2HKO, and Ice Punch hits Vespiquen, Togetic, and Ivysaur. With its ability Guts, Machoke benefits off status attempts from likes of Corsola, Pyukumuku, and Hippopotas. A spread that invests 252 Speed EVs over HP is equally as potent for outspeeding walls like Vullaby and Klang.

While Machoke tanks a good portion of attackers, its lack of recovery and its weaknesses to Psychic-, Fairy-, and Flying-type coverage is exploitable. Pair it with Klang, or niche Steel-types like Cufant and Bronzor, to patch these weaknesses, and in return Machoke offensively pressures Krokorok and Galarian Linoone. Use Knock Off to cripple Machoke's checks like Togetic, Ivysaur, and Charjabug, as removing their Eviolite softens them up for special wallbreakers like Galarian Mr. Mime and Choice Specs Whiscash. Pivots like Persian and Galarian Linoone bait in targets like Klang and Corsola to pivot into Machoke safely for wallbreaking. Even when Machoke's health is low, it can rely on Bullet Punch to threaten vulnerable faster attackers like Lunatone and Mr. Mime, which is sufficient to handle faster foes when paired with other priority attackers like Gourgeist-L and Fraxure.

[SET COMMENTS]
With defensive investment, Machoke stalls out most physical attackers like Klang, Persian, and Stonjourner. Furthermore, Knock Off is excellent coverage for common checks like Ivysaur, Beheeyem, and Hippopotas. No Guard solidifies the reliability of Dynamic Punch, which is Machoke's most reliable STAB option as a wall.

Due to relying on Rest for recovery, supporting Machoke with additional physical walls like Pyukumuku, Corsola, and Gourgeist-L is recommended; the former two also help stomach Knock Off attempts for it. Special walls such as Dusclops and Klang deal with Mr. Mime and Shiinotic, while Machoke walls Zweilous and Krokorok for them. Watch out for stallbreakers and mixed attackers like Ivysaur, Pikachu, and Oranguru, and try eliminating them with faster attackers like Silvally-Ice and Galarian Linoone. Machoke also requires the help of wallbreakers like Choice Specs Whiscash and Mr. Mime to target walls it struggles with like Hippopotas, Pyukumuku, and Shiinotic.

[SET COMMENTS]
Flame Orb activates Machoke's ability Guts so that it can break through walls like Dusclops, Pyukumuku, and Hippopotas. The extra power comes at the price of lacking an Eviolite, which combined with Machoke's poor Speed and Close Combat defense drops makes it an easy target for revenge killers like Persian and Raichu. Knock Off punishes Pokemon that resist or are immune to Close Combat while also softening up Eviolite-reliant checks like Charjabug. Bullet Punch vitally targets Fairy-types and other faster attackers like Morgrem, Mr. Mime, Glalie, and Lunatone. Facade offers strong neutral coverage against walls that resist Fighting and stomach Knock Off like Shiinotic and Togetic. With Trick Room support, this set should utilize a spread with minimum Speed and maximum HP instead.

As a frail wallbreaker at a mediocre Speed tier, Machoke needs the support of slow pivots like Beheeyem, Vullaby, Klang, and Charjabug to bring it in safely on targets. Charjabug specifically is beneficial for providing Sticky Web support so Pokemon like offensive Gourgeist-L and Oranguru are victims to Machoke's wallbreaking. Further entry hazard support from Stonjourner, Palpitoad, Krokorok, and Vespiquen helps secure chip damage for 2HKOs against opposing Gloom, Hippopotas, Dusclops, and Trubbish, rendering them unreliable defensive switch-ins to Machoke. Revenge killers not vulnerable to Bullet Punch like Persian, Krokorok, Whiscash, and Gothitelle prey on Machoke's lack of an Eviolite and tendency to lower its defenses from Close Combat. Punish the physical sweepers with support from Shiinotic, Gourgeist-L, and Corsola, and patch up Machoke's low special bulk with walls like Vullaby and Zweilous. As Machoke tears through even the toughest of physical walls, support it late-game with cleaners like Klang, Wartortle, and Silvally-Ice.

If you are Ice punch, I would mention a spread which is at least 196 HP/252 Atk/60 Speed to outspeed dartrix to win the 1v1. A spread that invests 252 Speed EVs over HP is equally as potent for outspeeding walls like Vullaby and Klang.

While Machoke tanks a good portion of attackers, its lack of recovery and weaknesses to Psychic-, Fairy-, and Flying-type coverage is exploitable. Pair it with Steel-types like Klang, Cufant, and Bronzor to patch these weaknesses, and they will appreciate Machoke for offensively pressuring Krokorok and Galarian Linoone in return. Use Knock Off to debuff Machoke’s checks like Gloom, Dusclops?, Frillish?, and Charjabug, as removing their Eviolite softens them up for special wallbreakers like Octillery and Maractus This part is a bit weird bc Dusclops/Frilish don't want to SI on Machoke to take Koff (even def versions of frilish is a roll to 2HKO from full, it cannot statu machoke and both Dusclops/Frilish would prefer somd SpD nowadays to deal with Freeze Dry/Shadow Ball Galarian Mime). I would mention Ivysaur which is more probable to happen. Maractus can carry Knock Off itself if it wants to so I would mention whiscash specs. Special pivots like Torracat and Drakloak bait in targets like Corsola and Lickitung, which brings Machoke in safely to wallbreak. Even when Machoke’s health is low, it can rely on Bullet Punch to threaten vulnerable faster attackers like Lunatone and Mr. Mime, which is worthwhile Speed control when paired with other priority attackers like Gourgeist-L and Farfetch’d.

With defensive investment, Machoke outstalls most physical attackers like Gourgeist-L, The match-up against Gourg can actually be difficult, according to the set, it could even lose the 1v1 so I would remove it Klang, Persian, and Beartic. Rest provides both HP and status recovery, while Sleep Talk combats Machoke’s passivity when asleep. Furthermore, Knock Off is excellent coverage for common Fighting-type immune or resistant Pokemon like Dusclops, Natu, and Trubbish. No Guard solidifies the reliability of Dynamic Punch, which is Machoke’s most reliable STAB option as a wall.

Wall physical attackers mid-game with Machoke, but be weary of when it is forced to use Rest, as a sleeping Machoke becomes unreliable. To prevent this, alleviate the pressure by supporting Machoke with additional physical walls like Pyukumuku, Corsola, and Gourgeist-L; the former two also help with physical Flying-type Pokemon like Farfetch’d and Dartrix. Special walls are also a must to form a defensive core so that Dusclops and Klang deal with Mr. Mime and Shiinotic, while Machoke walls Scraggy and Beartic for them. Watch out for stallbreakers and mixed attackers like Ivysaur, Maractus, and Oranguru, and try eliminating them with faster attackers like Torracat and Galarian Linoone. Machoke also requires the help of wallbreakers like Choice Specs Whiscash Whiscash struggles more against Dusclops these days so I would rather mention Octillery but I leave this to your preference and Glalie to target walls it struggles with like Hippopotas, Pyukumuku, and Shiinotic.

Machoke’s role as a physical tank is unmatched thanks to its phenomenal coverage. Knock Off compliments Machoke’s Close Combat by nailing Ghost- and Psychic-types like Gourgeist-L and Lunatone, as well as debilitating walls that rely on Eviolite like Gloom and Dusclops. (condense these two sentences for what Knock off provides, I also don't think Gourgeist is the best example here, unless you explicitly mention offensive, since defensive beats choker anyways) Bullet Punch provides priority against faster threats like Mr. Mime, Galarian Mr. Mime, and Silvally-Ice. Machoke’s final coverage depends on what targets you wish to have an improved match up against; Earthquake hits Trubbish and Steel-types without jeopardizing its defenses from Close Combat, Poison Jab lures Shiinotic for the 2HKO, and Ice Punch hits Grass-types like Ivysaur and Dartrix. Special pivots like Torracat and Drakloak bait in targets like Corsola and Lickitung, which brings Machoke in safely to wallbreak (I'd say that Pivots that lure Steel- and Rock- types are good partners, not exclusively special ones, so I'd add Linoone and Persian for example). Even when Machoke’s health is low, it can rely on Bullet Punch to threaten vulnerable faster attackers like Lunatone and Mr. Mime, which is worthwhile Speed control when paired with other priority attackers like Gourgeist-L and Farfetch’d.

(fluff) Furthermore, Knock Off is excellent coverage for common Fighting-type immune or resistant Pokemon like Dusclops, Natu, and Trubbish (I really don't like these examples, Dusclops and Natu arent supposed to come into Machoke anyways and Trubbish just ignores Knock Off, I'd focus on how it removes items from other eviolite reliant Machoke checks like Ivysaur, Gloom and Dartrix) . No Guard solidifies the reliability of Dynamic Punch, which is Machoke’s most reliable STAB option as a wall.

Flame Orb activates Machoke’s ability Guts so that it tears through walls like Dusclops, Pyukumuku, and Vullaby (Machoke breaks Vullaby anyways, mention Gloom). The extra power comes at the price of lacking an Eviolite, which combined with Machoke’s poor Speed makes it an easy target for revenge killers like Persian and Choice Band Gourgeist-L (I'd mention how the Close Combat drops rack up with lack of Evio, making it very easy to revenge).
