SS OU Made a New team, any suggestions to improve it?

I made a new team with a focus on sweeping done by the likes of Garchomp (My fave), Volcorona, and Urshifu with some support through Pokemon's like Ferrathorn, Mandibuzz, and Blissey. Changes and Criticisms are welcome!

Diablos (Garchomp) @ Leftovers
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Scale Shot

Went with Leftovers instead of Life Orb to give Gaqrchomp a slight bulk. Sword Dance and scale shot is like having a Garchomp with Dragon Dance (With the caveat of losing a defense) and the addition of moves like Earthquake and Iron Head could prove devastating upon a prediction.

THorny (Ferrothorn) @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes

Went with another Field Hazard instead of Knock Off or Gyro Ball to help support the big three of the team. Went with more Special Defense so that Ferrathorn can be more well-rounded and leech seed for sustain and crippling Pokes who stay in by a tad.

Mothra (Volcarona) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Flamethrower
- Giga Drain
- Bug Buzz

The Special Attack Sweeper where one Quiver Dance can wipe out most pokemon who aren't ready for it. Went with Flamethrower instead of Fire Blast or Fiery Dance due to it's good damage and accurate hit chance. Does struggle a lot against Heatran though....

Jojo (Urshifu-Rapid-Strike) @ Choice Band
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat
- Aqua Jet
- U-turn

Choice Banded glass canon that hits like a truck. Surging Strike for the good good crit damage (is screwed by the Likes of Ferrathorn and Garchomp with rough skin), aqua jet for priority, and U-turn to get out of unfavorable matchups.

Buzzkill (Mandibuzz) (F) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 248 HP / 60 Def / 144 SpD / 56 Spe
Impish Nature
- Roost
- Defog
- Foul Play
- U-turn

Defogger with decent bulk capable to take most hits. Could see this one getting switched out with something else, preferably with a fast Rapid Spinner to get rid of hazards to keep the sweepers healthy and ready to sweep while maintaining the entry hazards on the enemy side.

Bad Egg (Blissey) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Soft-Boiled
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
- Aromatherapy

My stall pokemon whose capable of taking hits from Special Ataccking Pokemon even after a calm mind or quiver dance. Went with Aromatherapy at the end instead of Teleport, in case one of my Pokemon gets hit by a status condition like Burn or Paralysis.

Body Press instead of Power Whip since I'd assume that you're not going for pure attack since you don't have any attack EV's. Body Press uses the Defense stat instead of Attack in calculation as you probably know, which means no investment is needed. Also there's no risk of missing.

Hey Helix237, I’m here to rate your team and propose changes in order to improve it.

As there are a lot of demand for rates and making a complete and detailed answer takes too much time, I will try to do a short rate and won’t detail everything, so feel free to ask questions about what I said.

This team has a good structure for a balance team. However, your defensive core has some issue. Specially defensive Ferrothorn :ferrothorn: is not really needed if you already have a Blissey :blissey: and Mandibuzz :mandibuzz: main advantage over Corviknight :corviknight: is to handle Dragapult :dragapult:, but you already have one of the better check to Specs Dragapult in the whole tier. I think that, changing a bit the defensive core to deal with most SS OU big threats may greatly improve this team, as there are already some good ideas here.

Major Changes

:mandibuzz: -> :corviknight:: Mandibuzz struggles against a lot of current threats like Weavile :weavile: and has a hard time to check things like Kartana :kartana: and Dragapult :dragapult: if its Heavy-Duty-Boots get knocked off. Corviknight :corviknight: is a best pick for a bulky Flying type, especially because you already have Blissey :blissey: for Dragapult. Here is the set (the SpD investment is for Tapu Lele):
corviknight.gif

Corviknight @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 SpD
Impish Nature
- Body Press
- U-turn
- Defog
- Roost

:ferrothorn: -> :toxapex:: Ferrothorn is a Water resist, but can’t deal with Urshifu-R :urshifu-rapid-strike: and even if stack hazards is useful, Ferrothorn won’t bring much utility here. You rather have an efficient bulky Water type like Toxapex :toxapex:. You can use Scald to annoy physical breakers, but also Toxic Spikes or even Poison Jab if you’re afraid about Calm Mind Tapu Fini :tapu fini:. Shed Shell could be an interesting item to avoid being trapped by Heatran :heatran; or Whirlpool Tapu Fini.

toxapex.gif

Toxapex @ Rocky Helmet / Shed Shell
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Knock Off
- Recover
- Haze
- Scald / Toxic Spikes / Poison Jab

:volcarona: -> :dragapult:: A change less mandatory than the two above, but I still feel that Volcarona doesn’t feet well here, especially with Heatran :heatran: able to pressure your defensive backbone. Dragapult :dragapult: would be a way more efficient pick that not only brings a lot of Speed Control, but also a lot of breaking power to help Urshifu-R :urshifu-rapid-strike: and Garchomp :garchomp:. This is the classic Choice Specs set:

dragapult.gif

Dragapult @ Choice Specs
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Shadow Ball
- Flamethrower
- U-turn

Minor Changes

:garchomp:: I would just change Iron Head for Stealth Rock here. Without Ferrothorn :ferrothorn: you don’t have any Rock setter and Iron Head is not that much useful because against Fairy types likes Clefable :clefable:, Earthquake has 150 base power while Iron Head have 160, so not a big difference.

garchomp.gif

Garchomp @ Leftovers
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Scale Shot
- Stealth Rock

:blissey:: Thunder Wave is way better than Toxic here, because you want to slow down things for Urshifu-R :urshifu-rapid-strike: and Garchomp :garchomp:. Also, you rather have Teleport to safely pivot into your breakers.

blissey.gif

Blissey (F) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature

- Thunder Wave
- Seismic Toss

And that’s all for the changes, here is the past of the new team:

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Scale Shot
- Stealth Rock
