Magnezone fulfills the role of trapper for Electric teams thanks to its ability Magnet Pull. Thanks to it, Magnezone can trap Steel-types such as Choice-locked Excadrill, Corviknight, Bisharp, and Klefki. Thunderbolt is Magnezone's main attacking move with excellent coverage. Body Press allows Magnezone to hit Steel-types such as Choice Scarf Excadrill. Iron Defense is used to improve Magnezone's longevity in the field against types that cant reliably break past it such as Fairy, while also allowing Magnezone to hit harder to bulkier Steel-types such as Ferrothorn. Flash Cannon hits to Fairy types such as Galarian Weezing. The choice of item Air Balloon lets Magnezone always switch in and beat choice-locked Excadrill, while also allowing it to act as a switch into Ground-type attacks. Magnet Pull lets Magnezone trap the aforementioned Steel-types. Modest nature with maximized Special Attack allows Magnezone to hit as hard as possible. 176 Speed EVs are used to outspeed Azumarill, and the rest is placed in HP to increase Magnezone's bulk.
Pincurchin is a crucial teammate for Magnezone with its many qualities; Its access to Electric Terrain allows Magnezone to hit significantly harder with Thunderbolt, it sets Spikes and Toxic Spikes which allows Magnezone to be significantly harder to manage, and with Memento it can provide momentum to Magnezone. The latter can be also used on Steel-types for successful trapping. Vikavolt is yet another crucial teammate. Its ability Levitate provides a much-needed Ground immunity to the team, while Magnezone traps and eliminates Choice Scarf Excadrill which can hit Vikavolt. Furthermore, Vikavolt comes with Sticky Web which allows Magnezone to outspeed Pokemon such as Chandelure and Mamoswine. Its coverage in Energy Ball also handles Ground-types such as Seismitoad. Galvantula is another good teammate for Magnezone that comes with Grass coverage and Sticky Web, along with a good potential to spread paralysis thanks to Thunder. Offensive Pokemon such as Zeraora and Alolan Raichu appreciate Magnezone's wallbreaking potential, as they can sweep more easily in the late game if Magnezone weakens the opposing team enough. Rotom-C makes up another good ally, having Leaf Storm at its disposal allows Rotom-C to hit Ground-types, most notably Seismitoad. Furthermore, its ability Levitate allows Rotom-C to switch into Ground-type attacks.
