Hello smogon, im EmperorMeiji with my 1st RMT.

Team Building process:

So i chose politoed because he is the only choice for his OUnuique abillity

Next I went with Ferrothorn because he is awesome under rain and a great wall.

Next I went with Thundurus-T. This guy is a great special sweeper and can 1-2OKO almost anything thats not a pink blob.

Next I went with a good starter for any situation Gensect. This guy with scarf and U-turn is my most common lead.

Next I wanted a good physical attacker so i chose cloyster. If i get a shell smash off this guy is almost unstoppable and is great on my team.

After taking a look at my current team I realized with both sweepers taking 25% on switch in i needed a spinner i chose tentacruel.

Lets Take a Closer Look
186.png

Curlytoed (Politoed) @ Leftovers
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Hypnosis
- Perish Song
- Ice Beam
Being my weather inducer this guy needs to stay alive in the weather wars. So i chose a more bulky set. However under rain scald can 2-3OKO most pokes and maybe get a burn. Hypnosis helps me cripple an opposing sweeper so i can get mine out. Perish song helps me shutdown baton passes and buffed sweepers. Ice beam is just a coverage move and may be replaced with focus blast

Spike (Ferrothorn) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SDef / 252 Atk
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Power Whip
- Spikes
- Bulldoze
- Gyro Ball
This set catches catches a lot of people off guard. I throw ferro and they think the can set up a sub of buff. Ferro can 2OKO most pokes in the meta. All of his moves are there to give good coverage for most threats. I may switch spikes for rocks.

with set below
Sapphire (Tentacruel) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Dark]
- Sludge Bomb
Tenty is great for this team. Rapid spin helps me get my sweepers out unhindered. Most people dont expect this guy to be this to be quite as offensive as he is. Giga gives massive recovery along with sludge and rain dish. HP Dark give good coverage to Gengar and Reuniclus. Sludge bomb is a great STAB move and a possible poison is icing on the cake.

642-therian.png

Mr.T (Thundurus-Therian) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Focus Blast
- Thunder
- Volt switch
Wow, just wow. This guys power leaves me speechless with massive 427 Spa and Blistering 451 Spe with scarf this guy usually sweeps at least half a team. His moves give good coverage to most threats and popular pokes. I wouldnt be surprised if this guy was moved to uber.
------------------------------
91.png

Unicloy (Cloyster) @ White Herb
Trait: Skill Link
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Shell Smash
- Icicle Spear
- Rock Blast
- Razor Shell
Thank god for shell smash. If this guy gets one off he is near unstoppable to anything not scarfed. With two great STAB moves and R-Blast for coverage this guy can 1-2OKO pretty much anything in the meta.
------------------------------
649.png

Techno (Genesect) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Download
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 Def
Naive Nature
- Thunder
- Ice beam
- U-turn
- Hidden Power [Ground]
This guy is a great starter. With scarf he can out speed u-turn so i have switch advantage. His move set is pretty common except for HP Ground which is there for once again more coverage. Just like Thundurus-T i would not be surprised if this guy is moved to uber.

Thanks for looking at my team. It's doing pretty good on pokemon showdown. Im open to any changes what so ever.

Thanks again,
EmperorMeiji

Hello EmperorMeiji, welcome to Smogon!

Looking at your team, I notice a couple things: A weakness to Speed-boosting sweepers and a total lack of Stealth Rock. You also have some synergy issues - a stray Electric attack could cost you the game. As for the first issue, give Thundurus-T a Timid nature - this will allow you to outspeed +1 base 100 Pokemon like Salamence and Volcarona. While we're talking about Thundurus-T, replace Dark Pulse with Volt Switch. In combination with Genesect, Thundurus-T can form a powerful Volt-Turn core, and Dark Pulse's coverage is not needed when you can practically just spam that ridiculously powerful Thunder.

On Genesect, replace Thunderbolt with Thunder and Flamethrower with Ice Beam. You might as well use Thunder on Genesect since this is a Rain team, and Ice Beam gives you much better coverage than Flamethrower.

Now for the biggest change: Replace Tentacruel with a Donphan. Donphan might seem like an odd choice for a Rain team, but fear not - it takes not only the Electric attacks that plague Cloyster and Politoed, but also the Rock attacks that only Ferrothorn dares to withstand. It also has Stealth Rock and Rapid Spin while walling Terrakion, a major threat to this team. I'm making this Donphan slightly more offensive - it was suggested to me in my own RMT, and while I haven't tested it yet (I just looooove that Defense) more Attack would be better for replacing your Tentacruel. The EVs are explained here (note that 252/128/128+ is slightly more efficient than 252/16+/240). If this spread doesn't work for you, feel free to dump all of your EVs in Defense or Attack.

232.png

Donphan @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 128 Atk / 252 HP / 128 Def
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock

Good luck with the team! It's really solid and I love the use of CB Ferrothorn.

Thanks for the suggestions. I had noticed my Thundurus was slower than i wanted him to be and i changed him to timid before i read this and its doing better. Im going to try your other suggestions some time today.

Thanks again,
EmperorMeiji

Hey really cool team, I like it. Hopefully I can you help out. First off on Genesect, I suggest using Ice Beam over Flamethrower Ice Beam provides a BoltBeam coverage with Thunderbolt and helps you revenge a plethora of threats including Dragon-types, Gliscor, and the genies along with their Therian forms. Also, this is a Rain team, so your fire-type attacks' damage are halved. Another suggestion I have is using Thundurus-T as a late game sweeper with the move Ability allowing you to clean up weakened Pokemon.

nN6FC.png

Thundurus-T @ Life Orb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Special Attack / 252 Speed
Timid Nature
Moves:
- Agility
- Thunder
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Thundurus-T's massive Special Attack stat combined with Agility allows it to clean up many Pokemon who only pray to not be KO'ed. Life Orb gives its attacks the extra punch to take down foes. Next up, I suggest using Scald > Sludgebomb and Protect > HP Dark. Scald is for STAB and if you have rain up, it's boosted. The chance of burn is definitely helpful too. HP Dark is a waste of a move slot, Scald hits them both better. Protect offers recovery from Rain Dish + Black Sludge. Also, change the EV spread to 252 HP / 240 Defense / 16 Speed because you want Tentacruel to survive as long as he can to remove any hazards, who would otherwise annoy Thundurus-T and Cloyster. Another thing you lack is Stealth Rock. Try using the Standard Ferrothorn over your current Banded one. This also helps you take Dragon-type attacks better and proceed to set up entry hazards.

628.png

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Defense / 168 Special Defense | 0 Speed IVs
Relaxed Nature
Moves:
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip

Standard Ferrothorn to help you take hits better as well as adding hazards onto the field, while still hitting some Pokemon with two attacking options. Alternatively, you can use Leech Seed over Gyro Ball for added recovery to go along Leftovers. Hope I helped.

Thanks to both of you for the suggestions i think im gonna try to meet in the middle for ferro so they cant easily set up on him but he can take some more hits for me. As far as thundurus goes i like not having to set up agility but i havent really tested is so i will.

Thanks again,
EmperorMeiji
