It is actually a lot better than you would expect. With the program there, you can use sprites and such to actually create your own video games. There is a huge database of games there that people all created themselves using the program. I was browsing and I saw everything ranging from really good custom games with very original ideas to remakes of old games like Mario and Zelda.
I just downloaded it today and I am making a "sequel" to Metroid Fusion. It is complicated at first, but I am getting the hanging of it.
If anyone is interested, I'll post the plot of my game, but in the meantime, feel free to discuss what you think of the program, tutorials, and even possible game ideas you might have.
EDIT: I decided I will just edit in my game's intro and general plot. Feel free to scroll down to the "tl;dr" version should you not care for all of the minor details.:
"Occurring after the events of Metroid Fusion, Samus is now under arrest for destroying the B.S.L. Station to defeat SA-X and the X parasites. As she is put in her cell, Samus notices that an old enemy, Sylux, is in the same high security space prison she is in. After Samus is stripped of her Omega Suit and put in the cell, a small vent bursts open and she manages to sneak out of her cell. Realize if she wants to get out alive, she has to regain her suit and find a ship, she sets out on a Zero Mission-esque tour around the ship trying to find her suit.
Immediately after doing so, there is a huge explosion on the station. A nearby window reveals that Space Pirates are invading the station. While fighting off troopers and pirates alike, she gets to the docking bay to come across Sylux boarding a Space Pirate Ship. Before being able to catch him, she must dodge a vicious onslaught from some Federation Marines. She gets ahold of her old ship in the bay and escapes.
After getting a safe distance away from the scene, a mysterious transmission from an unknown sender comes up:
Samus, you and the entire galaxy is in grave danger...
the Galactic Federation is not all that it seems, and you are the only one who can stop them.
I cannot reveal too much information without giving away my position,
but I will guide you for the time being and give you orders and instructions.
I promise you will learn more in the future.
In the mean time, navigate your ship to a safer planet.
The Space Pirates no longer have anything left on Zebes...
You are familiar with the place... hide there for the time being.
You should should be safe there.
Is this understood? ...excellent, now go before the Federation finds you.
Making her way back to Zebes, Samus realizes there is more to the whole situation than what meets the eyes."
tl;dr version: Samus is wanted dead by both the Galactic Federation and Space Pirates, and both parties are up to no good. It is up to her with instructions from a mysterious guide to stop them from whatever they are doing.
Again, feel free to post any game concepts that you may have, games that you find interesting on the site, or games you even made there!
