Mareanie @ Eviolite
Ability: Regenerator
Level: 5
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 116 HP / 100 Def / 252 SpA / 20 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sludge Bomb
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Recover

Leveraging its excellent defensive profile, Mareanie unwraps its potential as a deceptive offensive weapon! With an almost unresisted STAB combination, Mareanie threatens to dish out massive damage to the LC metagame. Ice Beam provides the needed coverage to hit unsuspecting Foongus, Toedscool, and Vullaby. Recover, combined with Regenerator, makes sure Mareanie has the staying power to make use of its offense. With a Modest nature and maximum Special Attack investment, Mareanie sacrifices some of its defensive utility to power through would-be checks and still matches up well into Mienfoo, Pawniard, and Shellder. The HP and Defense investment ensures Mareanie can still pose problems for notable offensive threats like Glimmet, Mienfoo, and Shellder. Tera Dragon prevents Electric- and Psychic-types from harassing Mareanie, allowing it to comfortably check Hisuian Voltorb and survive two Gothita Psychics, preventing it from getting trapped and taken out. While oriented towards the offensive side, Mareanie still provides teammates with a reliable defensive pivot, partnering well with Hisuian Growlithe and Torchic as an answer to their checks, such as Mienfoo and Glimmet.

With a Modest nature and maximum Special Attack investment, Mareanie sacrifices some of its defensive utility to power through would-be checks, though it has plenty of defense to spare and still matches up well into Mienfoo, Pawniard, and Shellder. 116 HP investment, alongside 100 Defense, ensures Mareanie can survive a Hisuian Voltorb Thunderbolt, two Glimmet Power Gems, and a Rock Blast from +2 Shellder, providing adequate defensive utility against notable offensive threats.(this sentence is like fine but idt spotlights usually care about what the specific evs do? would just say its bulk lets it check key threats such as x, y, and z) Tera Dragon prevents GroundElectric- and Psychic-types from harassing Mareanie, allowing it giving the defensive leverage needed to survive two Mudbray Earthquakes and Gothita Psychics.(reword this to survive hisuian voltorb attacks and escape being trapped by gothita) While oriented towards the offensive side, Mareanie still provides teammates a reliable defensive pivot, partnering well with Hisuian Growlithe and Torchic as an answer to their checks, such as Vullaby Mienfoo and opposing Mareanie Glimmet.
