Introduction

Hi everyone. I bulit this team to test out Ash-Greninja. It has gone through many versions from playing and this is the most effective core that I found. I hope to get feedback on it to play more successfully.

Greninja-Ash @ Choice Specs
Ability: Battle Bond
EVs: 252 SpA / 16 SpD / 240 Spe
Timid Nature
- Water Shuriken
- Dark Pulse
- Hydro Pump
- U-turn
Once again, Greninja is usable in OU. Specs Gren is my main offensive mon on the team, acting as a late-game cleaner and semi-wallbreaker. The EVs allow it to outspeed Tapu Koko in Ash form. Dark Pulse and Hydro offers almost neutral coverage, only stopped by Tapu Fini and Chansey/Blissey. Water Shuriken can revenge Pheromosa and Mamo. U-turn gets momentum in unfavorable matchups.

Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake
- Icicle Crash
- Stealth Rock
Mamo is one of the few rocks setter in prebank, chosen over Nihilego because of priority Ice Shard to check Chomp. Focus Sash ensures rocks being set up or damage against lead Tapu Lele. EQ and Crash are the usual STABs.

Muk-Alola @ Assault Vest
Ability: Poison Touch
EVs: 248 HP / 188 Atk / 4 SpA / 44 SpD / 24 Spe
Brave Nature
- Knock Off
- Shadow Sneak
- Poison Jab
- Flamethrower
Alolan Muk acts as a check to Tapu Lele, Gengar, Zam and a defensive pivot. Knock Off is to get rid of crucial items, Jab for high poison chance. Flamethrower stops Mega Scizor from setting up safely. Priority Shadow Sneak has good matchups against fast attackers in the tier. The EVs ensure that Flamethrower can reliably catch Scizor on the switch for a 2HKO and outspeed uninvested Alolan Marowak.

magneton.png

Magneton @ Eviolite
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 72 HP / 252 SpA / 184 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
Magneton is chosen over Magnezone for the Eviolite bulk and higher speed. The EVs allow it to outspeed most Celesteela and Mega Scizor sets. Volt Switch grabs momentum. Flash Cannon catches Grounds on the switch for hefty damage. This is used mainly to trap Celesteela, Skarm and Sciz.

gyarados-mega.png

Gyarados-Mega @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Earthquake
I chose Gyarados for its typing and Intimidate. Before Mega, its Flying typing discourage opponents from spamming EQ as it can setup very easily in the tier. D-Dance 3 attacks offer neutral coverage, only stopped by Tapu Bulu. But its effectiveness lies in the type change from Mega Evolution.

Tapu Lele @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Moonblast
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Thunder
Lastly, Scarf Tapu Lele is a great revenge killer. Psychic and Moonblast are spammable STABs while HP Fire hits Sciz. Thunder is kinda niche for matchups against rain teams. It also hits Celesteela harder on the switch. If it's not broken, don't fix it.

Scarf Chomp can solo the team after Gyara has mega evolved. My way of dealing with Chomp is saving Mamo to revenge.

Chansey on stall can wear down everything. My best solution is Knock Off with Muk and hammer it with Gyara. Blissey also does the same, without being susceptible to Knock Off.

Greninja-Ash @ Choice Specs
Ability: Battle Bond
EVs: 252 SpA / 16 SpD / 240 Spe
Timid Nature
- Water Shuriken
- Dark Pulse
- Hydro Pump
- U-turn

Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake
- Icicle Crash
- Stealth Rock

Muk-Alola @ Assault Vest
Ability: Poison Touch
EVs: 248 HP / 188 Atk / 4 SpA / 44 SpD / 24 Spe
Brave Nature
- Knock Off
- Shadow Sneak
- Poison Jab
- Flamethrower

Magneton @ Eviolite
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 72 HP / 252 SpA / 184 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Gyarados-Mega @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Earthquake

Tapu Lele @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Moonblast
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Thunder

Now, the team is very solid, but the ev spreads could use a little fine tuning. for example, muk is a very important mon and should be as specially defensive as possible, so what i like to run is 252 hp 220 sp def, and 36 in attack of defense with a sassy nature. and i also reccomend using 0 speed ivs on your muk, since trick room teams pose a real threat to your team.

Forgot to say why the ev spread, oops.

it allows you to take 5 moonblasts from scarf tapu lele, and specs is a 4hko. heres the calc:

252 SpA Tapu Lele Moonblast vs. 248 HP / 220+ SpD Assault Vest Muk-Alola: 76-91 (18.4 - 22%) -- possible 5HKO

252 SpA Choice Specs Tapu Lele Moonblast vs. 248 HP / 220+ SpD Assault Vest Muk-Alola: 115-136 (27.8 - 32.9%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

also overlooked the moves on some of these mons. So pursuit>Shadow sneak on muk, since alolan muk is mainly used as a trapper, and you have no pursuit. also Focus Blast>Thunder on tapu lele so you can hit steel types.

First of all, the team looks really solid. But honestly, the sugestions given above aren't necesarry imo, since your team is very offensive, Muk apreciates the power with the investment you've given it, though maybe if you want more bulk it'd be better to run this spread instead as it makes Specs Lele Moonblast a 3 hit KO after rocks, and a scarf Lele is a 4 hit KO after rocks. The Spread is 252 HP, 212 Atk and 44 SpD with the AV. As for Pursuit, even though it would be awesome for it to have, since your team is labeled as Pre-Bank you cannot have Pursuit yet, unfortunately. As for Psyshock > Psychic on Lele, imo this is uneeded pre-bank, since the only real mon that you'd hit hared is Chansey/Blissey, nothing else really and there are more Physical Walls then special in the Pre-Bank Meta, So I'd keep Psychic for the power.

calcs:
252 SpA Choice Specs Tapu Lele Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 44 SpD Assault Vest Muk-Alola: 150-177 (36.2 - 42.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Tapu Lele Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 44 SpD Assault Vest Muk-Alola: 100-118 (24.1 - 28.5%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Stealth Rock
