Hi, I'm Marmagic and this is my first real RMT ever, so please don't be too critical. As you can probably guess, this is the team I'm currently using for BW. I would like some help improving it. It is fairly basic and wins at about a 50:50 ratio. I used the Japanese names for my pokemon because I'm too lazy to look them up. Without further ado, the team. ( Sorry that there aren't pictures!)
MARMAGIC’S ROCKIN’ TEAM! (couldn’t think of a better name)
LEAD
Kojondo/Jolly
Regeneration
Life Orb
4 HP/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spd
Fake Out/ Taunt
U-Turn/ Hi Jump Kick
This is a very basic anti-lead that is fairly decent against the other leads I encounter. I find it works best against Spikes leads and ok against SR. Fake Out and taunt are standard, U-turn gives momentum and healing with Regen, and HiJump is just for STAB. I was considering switching Regen to Reckless for more damage on it.
PHYS WALL
Nattorei/Hardy
Iron Barbs
Shed Shell
252 HP / 168 Def/ 80Spec D
Spikes / Stealth Rock
Power Whip/ Explosion
I was eager to try this guy out when i heard grass/steel existed. “Two weaknesses only!?! OMG! And so cute too!” I said the first saw him. And that’s why he’s on my team.
He is a fantastic physical wall, sets up Spikes/SR well, then uses SS if he has to get away from Shandera, Magnezone etc. Explosion is also a fun way to go if you have a problem. Overall, very useful for setting up hazards, as a wall should be. Personally, I prefer this guy to Skarm (GASP!) so I’d prefer to stick with this guy in terms of walls. Anyway, onward we go!
SPECIAL SWEEPER
Shandera/Timid
Shadow Tag
Leftovers
252HP / 4 Def / 252 Speed
Substitute / Calm Mind
Flamethrower/Shadow Ball
Another Poke I was fantasizing about. A Fire Ghost! My two favorite special types rolled into one! In a chandelier body? I MUST HAVE IT! And suddenly, this poke floated onto my team.
Let me just say this: this is my favorite sweeper I’ve ever used. The super SpA, decent type coverage, resistance to fighting and norm, and STAB on both attacks make it a wonderful tool of destruction. Not to mention, Shadow Tag can trap Pokes like Blissey and kill them with fire. I would prefer not to switch this guy out either, because he’s a very cool poke.
SPECIAL WALL
Burungeru/Calm
Water Absorb
Leftovers
252HP / 4 Def / 252SpecD
Boil Over/ Recover
Ice Beam/ Energy Ball
I thought that this poke would make a good wall, due to its bulky stats and decent coverage. Turns out, I was right. This poke works pretty well to absorb special attacks. In fact, it can survive Specs Latios’ Draco Meteor with 25% health left. All in all, I’m pretty impressed with it. Now on, to the shmancy physical sweeper!
PHYS SWEEPER
Roobushin/Brave
Guts
Flame Orb
120HP/ 252ATK/ 136SpecD
Bulk Up / Drain Punch
Mach Punch / Payback
Roobushin angry. Roobushin no like being stereotypical 5th gen sweeper. ROOBUSHIN SMASH!!!!
Yes, it’s another typical new pokemon you’d expect to find on a noob’s team! Roobushin is only here because I couldn’t think of another physical sweeper I hadn’t already overused. This guy has awesome Atk, but poor coverage. Any alternate suggestions would be appreciated!
MIXED SWEEPER/WRAP-UP SWEEPER
Sazandora/Naive
Levitate
Life Orb
Crunch / Fire Blast
Outrage / Earthquake
This is the slot that has changed the most on my team. First it was Exadrill, but he was too weak to Ice. Then I switched to Volcarona, but she was too easily KO’d. So here I am. I use Saza because he is very fast, has good resistances from the dark/dragon typing and has balanced in both Atk and SpA. I would be willing to change him to another mixed sweeper. No setup sweepers please!
Well, that’s the team. I hope you liked reading it. Please give me some feedback. The things I’m looking for mainly are:
1. Something to replace Roobushin (phys sweeper)
2. Another anti-lead option
3. Maybe another mixed sweeper option
4. Some new ideas for walls
Thanks! -Marmagic
