[SET COMMENTS]
Marshadow has access to perfect neutral coverage between its STAB moves, allowing it to punish traditional Ghost-type resistances like Snorlax and Umbreon with Close Combat. Multi-Attack is the Ghost-type STAB move of choice, making Marshadow self-Imposter-proof when equipped with a Ghost Memory, since Imposter users will be unable to harm Marshadow while it can retaliate with a super effective STAB move against them. Shell Smash provides a strong boost to Marshadow's offenses, allowing it to break past very bulky Pokemon like Melmetal and Eternatus. Dragon Dance is an alternate setup option that doesn't compromise bulk and has more PP, but it leaves Marshadow unable to hit certain benchmarks like OHKOing Melmetalor and Eternatus with Tough Claws. Recover increases Marshadow's longevity, allowing it to mitigate damage from entry hazards and weaker moves such as U-turn and Anchor Shot. Alternatively, Taunt can shut down Prankster Pokemon as well as prevent recovery, increasing Marshadow's wallbreaking potential. Stealth Rock is an option as well to take advantage of switches and chip down potential checks to Marshadow. An Adamant nature is preferred, as there are no notable Pokemon that Marshadow needs a Jolly nature to outspeed, and the extra power helps Marshadow to OHKO Zamazenta and Zacian with Tough Claws and increases the likelihood of it OHKOing Fur Coat Melmetal with Mold Breaker at +2. Mold Breaker ignores defensive abilities including Fur Coat, Unaware, and Magic Bounce, while Tough Claws boosts Marshadow's immediate damage output, allowing it to hit the above benchmarks as well as do more damage against Pokemon such as Mandibuzz.
Marshadow is severely crippled by Knock Off, which removes its Ghost-type STAB option and allows opposing Ghost-types and Imposter users to wall it, so it appreciatesa Knock Off switch-ins such as Zacian-C, Melmetal, and Poison Heal users such as Reshiram. Bulky Pokemon such as Melmetal, Seismitoad, and Eternatus can check faster Pokemon that threaten Marshadow, including Zacian-C, Zeraora, and Galarian Darmanitan-Z. They can also provide slow pivoting with U-turn or Teleport to bring in Marshadow safely without risking it coming in on moves like Knock Off and Will-O-Wisp. VoltTurn users such as Zacian-C and Choice Specs Kyurem-W help chip down Pokemon into KO range of Marshadow's attacks, as well as provide immediate offensive presence to pressure bulky Prankster users that Marshadow cannot overcome, such as Eternatus and Mandibuzz. Even when boosted, Marshadow fails to OHKO many targets, so entry hazard setters such as Zacian-C, Poison Heal Golisopod, and Zamazenta also help chip down Pokemon such as Zamazenta and Eternatus into KO range to prepare for a sweep.
