Welcome to the first edition of Masters League! This thread is for the signups for those who wish to manage in the tour. Information about the tournament can be found in the Announcements Thread here. Hosts for this edition of Masters League are Zacpz, Zcarlett and Murm.​

Masters League is a tournament for up and coming players of Generations 6, 7 and 8. The aim of this tournament is to give players who are working their way into the tournament scene experience playing in a team tour environment with experienced managers who can help them reach their potential.

Managers will be chosen based on experience in masters generations tournaments, their level of involvement in the community and knowledge of the playerbase, their general competence, and prowess in managing in high level tournaments in other tiers. If you do sign up, it would be worth explaining why you and your assistant manager would be good picks with relation to the above criteria.

There will be eight teams of ten slots, and the format will be as follows:

Important notice: to focus on the development of newer players, one cannot sign up to play in Masters League if they meet one or more of the following conditions:
  • You are not eligible to sign up as a player in Masters League if you played a game of ORAS, SM or SS in the following tournaments:
    • Smogon Premier League
    • World Cup of Pokémon (Main Stage)
  • You are not eligible to sign up as a player in Masters League if you played more than three combined OU games of ORAS, SM or SS in any of the following tournaments:
    • ORASPL
    • SMPL
    • SSPL
    • RoAPL
    • RCoP
    • OUPL

  • You must sign up with an Assistant Manager.
  • Managers and Assistant Managers will not be allowed to buy themselves.

Manager signups will be up until March 9, 2025 at 11:00 PM (your time)
Player signups will go up shortly afterwards.​

Team Name: Scorching Slugmas
Why should the Hosting Team pick you?: Quinn and I recently won the OU Farm League which features the tiers involved in this tournament. Quinn has experience managing in various different tournaments, making playoffs in 7/8 of them. We have a lot of experience playing in these tiers and can use our skillset to assist players looking to make it to the next level.

Why should the hosting team pick you?: Dex and I have experience with managing, with me winning SSPL and leading Team China to its best record ever in RCoP last year while Dex managed both editions of SSPL and has significant success in CAP team tours. Dex also has decent experience in playing non-SS Masters tiers, with showings in tournaments like SMPL over the years. We believe that we have a good grasp on the circuit scene and can draft promising players under the tournament's restrictions to both compete for the title and promote new talent.

Why should the Hosting Team pick you?:
I have managed quite a lot of tours such as SMPL Solomods PL NDWC OGPL etc and have been an active member who participated in most of the OU tours. Other than these, I have managed several discord tournaments such as ISTT BTWC etc. I have also qualified and made it till top 8 of OU circuit and won OU last chance qualifiers this year and have played many team tours inside and outside of the tier.
My co-manager Yovan is currently the best french player in Smogon. He has successfully established himself as a prominent competitor in high-profile Smogon tournaments. His achievements include reaching the Top 16 in OST, securing a 2-1 record in both WCUP qualifiers and WCUP, and finishing in the Top 8 of Smogon Tour. He has also qualified for OLT. In other formats, he placed in the Top 3 of SVOU SSNL, the Top 1 of Ubers SSNL, and the Top 16 of Ubers LT. Additionally, he achieved a Top 4 finish in French OST and a Top 3 placement in DCT (coupe critique), while excelling in ZU Olympiads with a 6-1 record. His consistent performance extends to circuit tournaments, where he reached the Top 16 in SS OU, and the Top 16 in SM OU. He also won the SV OU circuit 2024. Yovan’s results demonstrate his adaptability and competitive prowess across multiple Smogon formats. Outside of ou, he has also managed tournaments like ZUPL.
We both are active members of the tier and promise to provide a healthy environment for our team.

Why should the Hosting Team pick you?: Zinnias and I have been active in fairy gens tournaments such as Masters; we are SM enthusiasts with good knowledge about the tier and fairy gens in general. From my side, I made it to the 2024 World Cup quarterfinals with team Chile and I haven't stopped learning and improving since then: I was drafted in OUPL, I reached EPL finals, SMLT playoffs, and important ladder achievements, and managed some discord team tournaments like IML. From Zinnias’ part, she has been active in SM OU community, being an important member of the staff and writing most of the meta’s resources. Good results in masters (6-3), OUFL, and misc. discord tournaments, Zinnias hasn't been a manager yet, but her knowledge and active interaction within smogon makes her capable to lead a team to win. We are looking to expand our management experience, everyone must start somewhere and we would love to start in our comfort zone with Masters tiers.

Why should the Hosting Team pick you?: Since 2023's June, i starting being captain of team China, since then i have some success, for example, RCOP 2023 get quarterfinals, WCOP 2024 stay in main stage, RUWC 2024's runner up and PUWC 2024 Champion, all of them are create team China's best ranking, without world cup, i did Chinese PL's captain and now is 1st teams. Being a player, i get oras cup champion, oras circuit 2024's semifinals, masters main event, i also get drafted in SPL, played SS/SM and now is 2-3's record overall, so in player's point, i have enough good experience to support teams. Unowndragon is my good friend, he was played SMPL twice so also have enough knowledge about fairy gens. We both are active members of the tier and promise to provide a healthy environment for our team, we also want draft more new player to give them chance to prove themselves.

Why should the Hosting team pick you?: Tons of tour experience having won SMPL, HPL, HGPL, NDFL and many other side pls and reaching finals in a few like BLT and RUPL to name a few . I also have managing experience having managed several side pls in the past and the current one is BKCPL.
As a forum mod one of the main things I try to do is promote and help newer players get better as is evident from the many different projects started by us in the ORAS forum . My co-manager is a fellow forum moderator who not only helps with team building advice and forum projects but also won the ORASPL as well as having managed his share of side tours too. We collectively have good knowledge of the fairy gens both as players and as managers and are looking forward to this chance.

Why should the Hosting team pick you?: I captain team Bangladesh for WCOP and RCOP, made Masters play-ins in 2023 and ORAS OU circuit poffs last year. I also have tons of managerial experience, recently taking ORASPL and OUFL team to playoffs. Toxinalpaca has managed both NDFL and NDBD to playoffs, doubles derby to win, SDTT to finals, HGPL to playoffs, and other managing experience being OUFL, DPL, and more.
