Follow Me and Friend Guard help partners like Gholdengo and Annihilape set up with Nasty Plot or attack without having to fear being KOed by opposing threats such as Basculegion-M. Focus Sash allows Maushold to survive at least one attack, ensuring that it uses at least one move without worrying about being OHKOed by faster threats such as Choice Scarf or Swift Swim Basculegion-M. Tera Ghost lets Maushold become immune to Fake Out, letting it redirect attacks or use Taunt to disrupt a Trick Room setter without having to worry about Fake Out. Tera Ghost also makes Maushold immune to Close Combat from Sneasler. Super Fang lets slower partners like Gholdengo, Dragonite, and Ursaluna-B pick up more KOs, even on bulky foes such as Archaludon and Multiscale Dragonite. Taunt shuts down Amoonguss and Porygon2 by stopping their disruption tools, such as Spore and Trick Room, letting Maushold's partners ignore them. Annihilape is Maushold's best partner, as it appreciates both Friend Guard and Follow Me helping it set up and Beat Up boosting Rage Fist damage.
