[SET COMMENTS]

Swords Dance Mawile stands as one of the most fearsome breakers in the tier, as the combination of good coverage and Huge Power make its defensive answers scarce. Sucker Punch makes up for its low speed tier against faster threats such as Garchomp and Heatran. Knock Off is used to easily break past Ferrothorn, with other utility in removing things like Heatran's Leftovers, while Thunder Punch can be used for a stronger hit against Toxapex and Corviknight. 164 Speed evs are used to outspeed uninvested Corviknight with the rest in HP to maximize it's bulk. Intimidate is used as the pre-mega ability as it can assist Mawile coming in and taking hits from threats like Mega Latias, Weavile or Clefable using its great defensive typing.

Due to Mawile's rather low defenses before Mega Evolution, partners that are able to take a hit and bring it in are highly valued, with Teleport users such as Blissey and Slowbro being excellent partners with it. Blissey is able to spread paralysis around to help Mawile potentially bypass its low speed against threats able to a stomach +2 Sucker Punch, such as Heatran lacking Taunt or Tapu Lele. Landorus-T also serves as an excellent partner, notably providing the ground immunity that Mawile is weak to, and facilitating Mawile's wallbreaking prowess either by getting it on the field with U-turn and Intimidate, wearing down checks like opposing Landorus-and Heatran with Stealth Rocks, or wallbreaking against Skarmory with a Swords Dance set. Mawile also pairs up well with fast Pokemon, such as Tapu Koko and Greninja, who either help it get on the field with Volt Switch or U-Turn, or lay down Spikes to wear down certain walls, such as Mega Scizor and Toxapex. One of Mawile's best traits is its ability to exert heavy pressure on any form of stall team a well most balance teams, so teammates that generally struggle against these playstyle fit well with it. Ash-Greninja in particular works excellently with Mawile, as the Spikes it lays can help Mawile more easily pick up KOs with Sucker Punch on Garchomp or Heatran, breaking through shared checks such as Ferrothorn or Toxapex with boosted Knock Off, topped off with double priority to lock down offensive teams.

move 4: Ice Punch / Knock Off

[SET COMMENTS]
This set aims to achieve the best of both worlds, sacrificing it's sweeping potential for crucial coverage against various key targets such as Mega Scizor, Heatran, and Melmetal. Fire Fang cleaves right through Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn, with Brick Break also an option to break Ferrothorn while also pressuring Heatran switches. A riskier option in this slot is Focus Punch, which requires much more prediction that the other options, but can have potentially huge upsides, such as cleanly ohkoing Heatran, Melmetal Ferrothorn and Corviknight after forcing Roost, while also doing over half to Mega Scizor. Lastly, Ice Punch can catch ground types like Gliscor and Landorus-T off guard, with Knock Off also being an option to remove items like Rocky Helmet from Skarmory or Heatran's Leftovers to assist it later in the game. 204 Speed EVs allow this set to outpseed univnested Mega Scizor and OHKO with Fire Fang.

Teamates that can take hits from things that may threaten Mawile out are much appreciated. Teleport pivots remain excellent, with a special mention going to Slowking, who is able to provide both Future Sight and Teleport for Mawile, while also checking Heatran, who can be quite a nuisance for this set. Slowbro is also an excellent partner, that can check ground types like Gliscor and Landorus-T, who would can potentially switch in and threaten this set out with heavy damage. It should be noted that Slowbro does not check Heatran and Tapu Lele, unlike Slowking, and must be accounted for elsewhere, with answers such as Garchomp, Kommo-o or Hydreigon being good fits. Corviknight can provide Defog, bring Mawile in with U-turn and provides a more sturdy check to Rillaboom and Tapu Lele, threats Mawile does not appreciate taking repeated hits from. Landorus-T is able to either check opposing ground types, wear down checks with Stealth Rocks and Rocky Helmet, or get Mawile in with U-Turn and Intimidate. Paralysis support is also greatly appreciated for this set, either passively with Zapdos, or directly with a Glare Serperior or Thunder Wave Blissey. Zapdos provides Defog while Serperior reliably dishes out paralysis to Heatran and Corviknight, boosting Mawile's sweeping potential even higher. Tapu Koko provides a powerful Volt Switch to get in Mawile versus special walls such as Blissey, and provides a nice boost to Thunder Punch, enabling it to 2HKO Heatran.

Subsitute sets with Focus Punch, Ice Punch and Thunder Punch so as to ease prediction could be used, however Substitute can be challenging to get off, while also being stopped hard by Melmetal.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster threats**: While Mawile's Sucker Punch is incredibly strong after a Swords Dance, various threats are able to take the hit and KO Mawile back, including but not limited to, Landorus-T, Tapu Koko, Tyranitar packing Earthquake or Fire Punch, Garchomp and Greninja. Tapu Lele gets a special mention, as Psychic Terrain blocks Mawile from hitting it with Sucker Punch and can hit Mawile really hard with a Focus Blast.

**Physically defensive walls**: Mega Venusaur, Mega Scizor and Hippowdon are able to take its attacks after a Swords Dance and are capable of KOing it or heavily damaging it back. Other defensive answers include Iron Defense Skarmory or Corviknight, who are able to take on its attacks and KO back with Body Press. All of Mega Scizor, Corviknight and Skarmory must be wary of Fire Fang, Thunder Punch or Focus Punch, respectively.

**Bulky Steel Types** Melmetal is unable to be OHKOed by the Swords Dance set and is able to KO Mawile in return, with it only really fearing a Focus Punch on the switch. Magnezone does need to watch out for super-effective coverage on the switch, but can potentially take a boosted Sucker Punch and remove Mawile from play with Magnet Pull. Heatran is also able to switch in on Play Rough and stomachs a +2 Sucker Punch at sufficient enough health.

**Bulky Ground Types** Gliscor and defensive Landorus-T sets are able to switch into Mawile safely and smack it with an Earthquake or chip it down with Rocky Helmet. However, Gliscor has to be wary of Knock Off before Poison Heal activates, and both need to scout for Ice Punch on a 4 Attack set. Garchomp is also bulky enough to take a +2 Sucker Punch from max HP and threatens an OHKO with Earthquake.

Tapu Fini is able provide a check to Heatran, who would be able to switch in on Mawile lacking Focus Punch or Brick Break, while also providing it Misty Terrain to more reliably hit switch into Toxapex and other bulky water types without worrying about Scald burns. Landorus-Therain is also still a good partner as it checks Garchomp, who would be able to easily revenge this set.

Subsitute sets with Focus Punch, Ice Punch and Thunder Punch so as to ease prediction could be used, but this is stopped quite hard by Melmetal, who breaks the sub and breaks Mawile's Focus with Double Iron Based Pretty sure this wasn't meant to be implemented but change this to bash. Lacking Sucker Punch is also an issue, as you lose effectiveness against offense.

I think that fat ground types deserve their own paragraph here, as all of them are faster and fail to be OHKO'd by +2 sucker punch

Swords Dance Mawile Mawile stands as one of the most fearsome breakers in the tier, able to break past nearly anything attempting to wall it. This set uses Play Rough as its STAB move, Fluff; obvious STAB moves don't need to be mentioned with Sucker Punch to make up for its lower speed against faster threats like what?. Knock Off is used to easily break past Ferrothorn Mention other targets+the utility of it., while Thunder Punch can be used for a stronger hit against Toxapex and Corviknight. 164 Speed evs EVs are used to outspeed Corviknight and Magearna This definitely does not outspeed Magearna; it outruns some slower defensive variants but saying "Magearna" implies that it outruns ever Mage set, which isn't true with the rest in Attack and HP to maximize wallbreaking. Talk about why Intimidate is used as the Pre Mega Ability
Paragraph 2: You don't have to leave these in

Sentence is really long, so consider breaking it up a bit. Also mention wearing down Cinderace, which is hugely important for Mawile. Remember to mention Intimidate; also talk about the speed EVs again.

Mention 204 Speed as an alternative option to outrun Mega Scizor but talk about how the bulk loss can get annoying at times.

Swords Dance Mawile stands as one of the most fearsome wallbreakers in the tier, as the combination of good coverage and Huge Power make its defensive answers scarce. 164 Speed evs are used to outspeed uninvested Corviknight with the rest in Attack and HP to maximize wallbreaking the HP investment does not help Mawile wallbreak so please rephrase. Intimidate is used as the pre-mega ability as it can assist Mawile coming in and taking hits from Weavile or potentially Rillaboom using its great defensive typing.

Due to Mawile's rather low defenses before Mega Evolution, partners that are able to take a hit and bring it in are highly valued, with Teleport users such as Blissey and Slowbro being excellent partners with it. Blissey is able to spread paralysis around to help Mawile potentially bypass its low speed against threats able to a stomach +2 Sucker Punch, such as Greninja Heatran or Tapu Lele, who resist the move or block it with Psychic Terrain, respectively. mention Heatran lacking Taunt here instead; Ash-Greninja even before it gets a forme change can still outspeed Mega Mawile while paralyzed; plus, it would rather not stay in ona Thunder Wave anyways. Landorus-T also serves as an excellent partner, notably providing the ground immunity that Mawile is weak to, and facilitating Mawile's wallbreaking prowess either by getting it on the field with U-turn and Intimidate, wearing down checks with Stealth Rocks, or breaking certain checks with its own Swords Dance set Which checks can it do this against?. Mawile also pairs up well with fast Pokemon, such as Tapu Koko and Greninja, who either help it get on the field with Volt Switch or U-Turn, or lay down Spikes to wear down certain walls, such as Mega Scizor and Toxapex. Special mention goes to Choice Scarf Jirachi, who is able to let Mawile attempt a second Swords Dance sweep after it has been worn down the first time with Healing Wish. Remove this mention, as Jirachi doesn't U-turn against any foe that Mawile can come in against (e.g. defensive Landorus-T and Garchomp for example) as they can wear it down. They also have a shared weakness and the benefits of stacking their defensive traits don't gain much One of Mawile's best traits is its ability to exert heavy pressure on any form of stall team a well most balance teams, so teammates that generally struggle against these playstyle fit well with it. Ash-Greninja in particular works excellently with Mawile, as it can struggle to get a KO vs bulkier teams this should be rephrased to mention how they wear down each others shared checks like Ferrothorn and Toxapex, while also forming an excellent double priority core to lock down offense. It can even provide Spikes to wear down anything that may be able to take a +2 Sucker Punch and KO Mawile back, such as Heatran and Garchomp.

the QC team also made a slight change to AoA Mawile.

[SET COMMENTS]
This set aims to achieve the best of both worlds, sacrificing power for crucial coverage against various key targets such as Mega Scizor, Heatran, and Melmetal. Sucker Punch is used to maintain presence against faster threats, notably Landorus-T and Heatran we can remove SP now, as we are no longer running it, with Thunder Punch hitting Toxapex and Corviknight. Fire Fang cleaves right through Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn, with Brick Break also an option to break Ferrothorn while also pressuring Heatran switches. A riskier option in this slot is Focus Punch, which requires much more prediction that the other options, but can have potentially huge upsides, such as cleanly ohkoing Heatran, Melmetal and Ferrothorn mention OHKOing Corviknight after forcing Roost, while also doing over half to Mega Scizor. Other potential options include Ice Punch, being able to catch Ground-types like Gliscor and Landorus-T off guard now that Ice Punch is first this sentence needs to reflect it, and Knock Off to remove an item like Rocky Helmet from Skarmory or Heatran's Leftovers to assist it later in the game. 164 Speed EVs allow this set to outspeed uninvested Corviknight, but this can be removed now due to the updated spread 204 Speed EVs are also an option on allow this set to outspeed uninvested Mega Scizor. (Comma to period) but this cuts into your bulk quite a bit and reduces your ability to switch in.

As this set is not boosting Mawile's attack, it will generally have a harder time revenge killing things with Sucker Punch. Therefore, teamates that can take hits from things that may threaten Mawile out are much appreciated. Teleport pivots remain excellent, with a special mention going to Slowking, who is able to provide both Future Sight and Teleport for Mawile, while also checking Heatran, who can be quite a nuisance for this set. Slowbro is also an excellent partner, that can check Ground-types like Gliscor and Landorus-T, who would can potentially switch in and threaten this set out with heavy damage. It should be noted that Slowbro does not check Heatran and Tapu Lele, unlike Slowking, and must be accounted for elsewhere, with answers such as Garchomp, Kommo-o or Hydreigon being decent fits. Corviknight can provide Defog, bring Mawile in with U-turn and provides a more sturdy check to Rillaboom and Tapu Lele, threats Mawile does not appreciate taking repeated hits from. Landorus-T is able to either check opposing Ground-types, wear down checks with Stealth Rocks and Rocky Helmet, or get Mawile in with U-Turn and Intimidate. Paralysis support is also greatly appreciated for this set, either passively with Zapdos, or directly with a Glare Serperior mention Thunder Wave Blissey here too. Zapdos provides Defog while Serperior reliably dishes out paralysis to Heatran and Corviknight, boosting Mawile's sweeping potential even higher. Tapu Koko provides a powerful Volt Switch to get in Mawile versus special walls such as Blissey and provides a nice boost to Thunder Punch, which enables it to 2HKO Heatran. Add this mention

Subsitute sets with Focus Punch, Ice Punch and Thunder Punch so as to ease prediction could be used, but this is stopped quite hard by Melmetal, who breaks the sub and breaks Mawile's Focus with Double Iron Bash. On top of this, lacking Sucker Punch heavily reduces your effectiveness against offensive teams, who may not let you get a Substitute off in the first place, leaving you with no way to KO them before they can potentially KO you. Add here instead Psychic Fangs, Focus Punch, and Brick Break here

Checks and Counters
===================

[SET COMMENTS]

Swords Dance Mawile stands as one of the most fearsome wallbreakers in the tier, as the combination of good coverage and Huge Power make its defensive answers scarce. It also has a fantastic defensive typing, allowing it to switch into foes like Mega Latias, Clefable, and Reuniclus to create situations where it can set up. Sucker Punch makes up for its low speed tier against faster threats such as Garchomp and Heatran. Knock Off is used to easily break past Ferrothorn, with other utility in removing things like Heatran's Leftovers,. (rc, ap) Meanwhile, Thunder Punch can be used for a stronger hit against Toxapex and Corviknight. 164 Speed evs are used to outspeed uninvested Corviknight with the rest in HP to maximize it's bulk. Fluff Intimidate is used as the pre-mega ability as it can assist Mawile coming in and taking hits from threats like Mega Latias, Weavile or Clefable using its great defensive typing. the preferred ability pre-mega, as it can assist Mawile in taking hits from foes like Weavile and Corviknight. Move this sentence before the one about speed; set comments go last. also decided to split this up in two parts cause the way you had written it made it seem like Intimidate is used to tank hits from Clefable/Latias.

What teams does mawile fit on?
Due to Mawile's rather low defenses before Mega Evolution, partners that are able to take a hit and pivot it onto the field safely are highly valued teammates, with the likes of Corviknight, Blissey, Landorus-T, and Slowbro making for stellar partners as such. Landorus-T is especially notable due to its support through entry hazards. Meanwhile, Blissey can paralyze foes to help with Mega Mawiles low speed. bring it in are highly valued, with Teleport users such as Blissey and Slowbro being excellent partners with it. Too wordy, also went into way too much detail on Lando. Mawile also pairs up well with fast Pokemon, such as Tapu Koko and Greninja, who either help it get on the field with Volt Switch or U-Turn, or lay down Spikes to wear down certain walls, such as Mega Scizor and Toxapex. Faster Pokemon such as Tapu Koko or Greninja make for a powerful offensive core alongside Mega Mawile, Tapu Koko can help pivot it onto the field safely with U-turn or Volt Switch, Meanwhile Greninja creates an excellent offensive core with Mega Mawile; not only is their double priority fearsome against offensive teams, it also provides Mawile with Spikes support, helping it catch some crucial KO's on checks like Mega Scizor and Toxapex. Meanwhile, Mawile is able to Knock Off Heavy-Duty Boots and help spread the damage of Greninjas Spikes. It is also able to overwhelm shared checks such as Toxapex and Ferrothorn, Furthermore Ash-Greninja also appreiciates of Mega Mawiles ability to put immense amounts of pressure against Stall and Balance type teams, which it tends to struggle with. You dont discuss a single of its weaknesses here, please mention defensive cores to handle offensive revenge killers, as well as being able to switch into Ground- and Fire-types.

Checks and Counters
===================

Tangrowth, Toxapex, and Alomomola can all act as temporary stopgaps to Mega Mawile, and force it out with the threat of Sleep or Scald Burns. However, they can easily be broken through with either Swords Dance variants, and All Out Attacking sets that pack super-effective coverage can break through them with that.

The likes of Skarmory, Corviknight, Melmetal, and Mega Scizor are quite fantastic checks Mawile, as they with relative ease take at least one unboosted hit from it, while threatening it out with their respective attacks or by pivoting into another teammate. They do, however, have to worry about Fire Fang on 4a and be weary of Knock Off after multiple Swords Dance boosts, should the not carry a defense raising move. Heatran and Magnezone are also able to check it offensively, being able to switch into Play Rough with ease, and Knock Off should they have a Z-crystal, but they get worn down over time by repeated Knock Offs. Magnezone in particular can trap Mawile and KO it with Thunderbolt after minimal chip.

Garchomp is also bulky enough to take a +2 boosted Sucker Punch from max HP and threatens an OHKO with Earthquake.

move steel-types above faster threats and add two paragraphs here: one about Contact punishing effects (rocky helmet, static, flame body) and one about Status
