This is my team "Maximum Overtroll". It's designed in a way that it annoys the hell out of my opponents. It does need some refining however through testing it, it is holding it's own in an OU enviroment.
First glance this team looks like a standard weather offensive team and it has some elements of that the main difference being the movesets and possibly the EV builds.
Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Slack Off
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
Standard Hippo lead sets up sandstorm, which is almost essential for this team to run effectively, and SR to be used as a wall later on.
Mandibuzz @ Rocky Helmet
Trait: Overcoat
EVs: 252 HP / 100 Def / 156 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Roost
- Whirlwind
- Toxic
- Knock Off
Possibly my favorite pokemon in this set, the idea behind it is, using it's almost unrivaled ability to take a beating it deals damage back with Rocky helmet along with spikes and SR. I often find myself crippling my opponents sweepers by swapping this in and simply using Knock Off to remove their band/lifeorb etc then roosting off the damage and whirlwinding them away for another knockoff.
Heatran @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 244 HP / 40 SDef / 224 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Torment
- Lava Plume
- Protect
This took alot of thought i'm still considering dropping this guy but he fills a nice niche. Also I can often lock down his counters with a well placed Torment on switching then protecting thier counter move enabling me to set up a Sub then lava pluming away.
Often i use him to lure EQ users so i can switch in Excadrill for free.
Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Trait: Sand Rush
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- X-Scissor
A standard sandstorm heavy weight. not much to be said about this you've all probably fought him before.
Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Pursuit
- Fire Punch
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
This guy is useful for countering other weather users and putting that jelly in it's place. Typical Choice Band setup, Fire Punch in there for Magnezone.
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 8 Def / 248 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Leech Seed
- Thunder Wave
- Spikes
- Power Whip
You've all probably run into this guy. Standard setup for hime and fits wonderfully into the mechanics of this team. generally really bulky and has ridiculous regenerative capabilities to allow him to put my opponents at a horrible disadvantage. p.s i hate magnezone.
I've run into many things that beat this team however as it stands i'm getting a 80/20 win ratio but it still needs some work.
