RU Medicham

[OVERVIEW]

Medicham is a powerful wallbreaker in RU due to its amazing offensive typing and great ability in Pure Power, which doubles Medicham's Attack stat. Boasting a great STAB combination, Medicham is one of the hardest Pokemon to wall in the tier, having just a few safe counters, such as Cresselia and Uxie. It takes good prediction and scouting to deal with Medicham after it gets on the field. Medicham makes up for its lackluster bulk of 60 / 75 / 75 with its great offensive presence and decent base 80 Speed stat, which allows it to Speed tie with Gardevoir and outspeed slower threats like Mega Blastoise and Tyrantrum. Alongside Medicham's STAB options, it has coverage such as Thunder Punch to deal with Flying-types and Slowbro, as well as Fake Out and Bullet Punch to pick off faster threats. However, its lack of defensive presence makes it hard to justify using over Fighting-types like Virizion, Bewear, and Toxicroak, which can offer useful resistances alongside their access to Swords Dance. Additionally, Pangoro and Machamp have raw power and can beat common Fighting-resistant Pokemon due to their access to Knock Off.

Moves
========

High Jump Kick is Medicham's main STAB move and can 2HKO the majority of the tier, including Fighting-resistant Pokemon such as Florges, offensive Nidoqueen, and Necrozma after Stealth Rock. Zen Headbutt acts as a secondary STAB option to deal with Ghost-types that are immune to High Jump Kick like Alolan Marowak and Mismagius. Thunder Punch is Medicham's best coverage option, hitting the likes of Slowbro and Mantine for super effective damage. Ice Punch can also be used to OHKO Noivern. Bullet Punch is a great priority option to KO Gardevoir after some chip damage, as well as finish off faster Pokemon should they take a huge hit from Medicham's other moves.

Set Details
========

Pure Power boosts Medicham's Attack stat to stellar levels and is essential for its wallbreaking capabilities. Life Orb further boosts the power of Medicham's moves and turns a lot of rolls into guaranteed OHKOs or 2HKOs. Maximum Speed and Attack investment is crucial to make Medicham harder to revenge kill and hit as hard as possible. Jolly is the nature of choice to outspeed the likes of Necrozma and Feraligatr.

Usage Tips
========

When playing with Medicham, it should get as many opportunities to get safely into the field as possible by pivoting, double switching, or switching in after one of its partners is KOed by a slower opposing Pokemon. Medicham can put in work against both resilient and offensive builds due to its amazing power and decent Speed tier, so don't be afraid of punching holes with High Jump Kick or Zen Headbutt, since Medicham can usually hit the switch-in hard and KO it with another hit or with priority Bullet Punch. Be aware of Pokemon that usually run Protect, such as Bronzong and Registeel, which can force mind games against Medicham due to High Jump Kick's recoil damage upon failure.

Team Options
========

Faster Pokemon that can act as cleaners like Salazzle, Swellow, Zygarde-10%, and Choice Scarf Gardevoir greatly appreciate Medicham's ability to weaken and remove defensive threats from play so they can sweep easier. Volt Switch and U-turn support is a great way of bringing Medicham safely into the field to use its power effectively. The likes of Flygon, Rotom-C, and Raikou can fill this role and provide speed control or entry hazard removal. Since most of the Pokemon capable of resisting Medicham's STAB combination are Ghost- and Psychic-types, Pursuit trapping can be a great choice to deal with Pokemon such as Cresselia and Slowbro. Drapion and Escavalier can offer great offensive presence alongside Medicham and beat the few threats that Medicham has problems breaking through. Special attackers like Gardevoir and Espeon are nice teammates for Medicham that can overcome shared checks with coverage options such as Thunderbolt and Shadow Ball, luring out and KOing these Pokemon so Medicham can wallbreak more efficiently.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Fake Out can be used alongside Bullet Punch to chip faster threats with priority. Psycho Cut can also be used as a Psychic-type STAB move that is able to OHKO Bewear without a miss chance. Medicham can hold Choice Scarf to revenge kill a myriad of fast threats, such as Zygarde-10%, Lycanroc-D, and Raikou. Despite having the same Speed tier as other Choice Scarf users like Gardevoir and Goodra, Medicham sets itself apart from the competition due to great power with STAB High Jump Kick even without Life Orb.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ghost-types**: Mismagius, Hoopa-C, Alolan Marowak, and Jellicent can all switch into Medicham's High Jump Kick due to their immunity to Fighting-type moves.

**Psychic-types**: Slowking, Slowbro, and Cresselia are able to stomach any move from Medicham and provide utility or fire off powerful moves. Sigilyph and Espeon can switch into Medicham's STAB moves and threaten it due to their higher base Speed.

**Faster Attackers**: Salazzle, Swellow, Zygarde-10%, Noivern, Shaymin, and Choice Scarf Gardevoir can outspeed and OHKO Medicham, but they have to be careful with Bullet Punch after some residual damage.

Jesus Christ, this has been sitting for ages.

- Zen Headbutt over Psycho Cut on Life Orb Medicham tbh, can mention psycho cut on moves as an option
- Tbh, just put Scarf on OO and drop the analysis to just focus on the life orb cham. Not really the most practical scarfer atm, it sure works but not to the degree where a main set is justified.
- Can also put a mention on Thunder Punch for the LO set under Other Options since it can come handy at times for certain targets without risking hjk but psychic stab is generally better.

QC 2/3 when implemented. Hopefully there is still interest in this cause shouldnt be that hard to finish GustavoYAY

Thunder Punch over Ice punch, as I said ice punch was mainly for gligar.

I would say something like "and to hit as hard as possible" on the first sentence, since first it mentions both attack and speed but you only say
a reason to speed.

Usage Tips
========

- When playing with Medicham, it should might get as much opportunities to get it safely into the field and hit hard as possible, by pivoting or after one of it's partners is fainted by a slower opposing Pokémon.
You can mention doubles too.
