- Pure Power makes it ridiculously powerful; hits much harder than Reckless Hitmonlee and is the strongest attack in the tier
- Good STABs, only misses out on Psychics, Spiritomb, and Doublade
- Workable movepool; Elemental punches are pretty cool, and baton pass is great momentum
- One of the betters answers to slower teams
- Mediocre defenses make it somewhat of a glass cannon; hits hard but relies on not getting hit
- Base 80 Speed is somewhat average and leaves it outsped by a bit and is easily OHKOed by strong STABs
- Unfortunately does not get Knock Off and Cresselia walls the fuck out of it unless tricked
- Requires a bit of support in pursuit
