XY UU Mega Aerodactyl

Tried to build this team around mega aerodactyl, as I thought it would be a good late game sweeper. Works well in my expirience.

aerodactyl-mega.gif

Aerodactyl (Aerodactyl-Mega) @ Aerodactylite
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Hone Claws
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Thunder Fang

Strategy is: send it out when you are pretty much set for sweeping the oponnent after he is weakend and his physical walls are gone. Hone Claws is for the almost 100% accurate Stone Edge and the nice attack boost. Earthquake is for the amazing coverage that Edgequake gives you. Thunder Fang is for covarage, but feel free to switch it for any other move like Fire Fang or Crunch. You can also get rid of Hone Claws for a 4th move, but in that case I recommend switching Stone Edge for Rock Slide.
Before Mega, Aerodactyl should have Pressure, but you can give him Unnerve which is very situational.

claydol.gif

Claydol @ Light Clay
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Careful Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Earthquake

Claydol is my favorite spinner. Immunity to sticky web, spikes and toxic spikes and a ressitance to rocks is great. I thought it might make a good support pokemon and gave it dual screens with Light clay, but there might be something better for it. Earthquake is there for attacking. Feel free to change it to a calm nature and giving it Earth Power instead of Earthquake if you feel like 4 Physical Attackers are too much.

cradily.gif

Cradily @ Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Giga Drain
- Toxic
- Protect

We already have 2 Water weaknesses (and there is more) so I needed something with Water Absorb/ Storm Drain/ Dry Skin, and Cradily seems to fit. It has a great typing and nice defences.
I gave it Stealth Rocks just because, but switching it for Leech Seed is viable. Giga Drain is for restoring health (teamed with Leftovers and protect) and Toxic is for taking down enemies.

empoleon.gif

Empoleon @ Assault Vest
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 176 HP / 252 SpA / 80 Spe
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Flash Cannon
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Grass]

Empoleon is one of those guys that can take a hit well and hit back. Assault Vest looked good on Empoleon. Scald is for STAB and the occasional burn, Flash Cannon is another good stab. Ice Beam and HP Grass are for coverage. You can change HP Grass for Grass Knot but I like being sure of the damage.

heracross.gif

Heracross @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Megahorn
- Knock Off
- Earthquake

ScarfCross is scary. It's an excellent revenge killer and late game sweeper, and the Moxie gives it the snowball effect. Close Combet is the best move on Herracross, and Megahorn is also great. Knock Off is pretty much a given, and Earthquake is for coverage but feel free to swith it for Rock Slide/ Stone Edge/ Rock Blast.

darmanitan.gif

Darmanitan @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Earthquake
- Zen Headbutt
- U-turn

This thing! An amazing revenge killer. Switch it on a weakend pokemon and Flare Blitz it to death. EQ and ZH are for coverage (As with Herra, feel free to switch one of them for a Rock move) and U-turn is for momentum.

Heya! Gonna give your team a rate. As of now you have a good offensive core between Mega Aerodactyl, Darmanitan, and Heracross so no real problems there. You listed coverage options on each of them but I think Rock Slide and Superpower> Zen Headbutt and Earthquake on Darm. First off Psychic and Ground have more prevalent immunities in the metagame than rock/fighting. This is honestly personal preference but I don't see a need for Zen Headbutt when Flare Blitz does more unless it's 4x effective.

Right now scarfed Fires like Victini demolish your team, so a change of Empoleon --> Slowbro. Slowbro tanks most hits from the Fire Types and the stronger ones can be managed by switching around their choiced move thanks to regenerator. Sets will be at bottom of my post.

Claydol is very weak as a spinner since it gets destroyed by the ghost types who want to stop it. Therefore a switch from Claydol --> Donphan would be good for you. Donphan can set up Stealth Rocks, Spin, and have a strong Earthquake and Knock Off opponents items.

Finally Cradily also is very outclassed in this metagame, and a better bulky grass imo would be Cradily --> Shaymin. This monster switches in on every Bulky Water in the tier, and has strong support for the rest of the team through passive healing in Leech Seed. Seed Flare hits Waters you mentioned having trouble with, while Air Slash catches common switches like Trevenant as Chesnaught off guard.

Good Luck with your team :D !!

Slowbro @ Leftovers / Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Psyshock
- Slack Off
- Thunder Wave / Calm Mind

Donphan @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Knock Off / Ice shard

Shaymin @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 220 SpD / 36 Spe
Calm Nature
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Seed Flare / Air Slash
- Synthesis / Air Slash

Ok i'm also gonna rate this team but a lot of my changes aren't going to be the same as Sage's so you can choose whichever. Firstly, you are utilizing a lot of Pokemon that don't really have a place in the UU's current metagame in Empoleon, Darmanitan, Claydol and Cradily. In my opinion, all of these need to be changed. Darmanitan has a pretty easy swap in Victini as it's basically the best Fire-type in the tier and there is NO reason to run Darmanitan over it as Victini outclasses in every conceivable way. As for Cradily, while it does give you a Special Wall, you would be better off using Umbreon for this role as it can not only eat up any hits from Pokemon like Hydreigon, it can provide invaluable Wish support for Heracross, Aero and Victini which would aid in keeping them healthy (also the reason I chose Umbreon over Blissey is because Umbreon is the only Special Wall that isn't complete set up fodder for Sub Calm Mind Chandelure which is a huge reason to use it over other Special walls atm). I agree with Sage's change of Empoleon to Slowbro which when paired with a Ground-types basically means you can deal with Victini (one of the biggest threats in the metagame) much more easily. Finally Claydol needs to be changed since frankly, it isn't doing anything for your team and not only is it outclassed in a Dual Screens role, it is outclassed in pretty much every role it plays (hence why it isn't UU anymore); I would suggest changing Claydol to Nidoqueen. Nidoqueen performs the role of Stealth Rocker in the team and provides solid Fighting and Bug resistances which can alleviate some of the prediction if a Heracross enters on the opponents side of the field. Nidoqueen is also backed by Umbreon's Wish support which can keep it healthy throughout the game. As for moveslot changes, I would make Victini Choice Band to effectively wallbreak for either Slowbro or Aero to clean up late game and keep Heracross as your Scarfer as a means of revenge killing SD Absol etc. Finally, the man of the hour, Mega Aero. I'm fine with you using Hone Claws but for coverage you should be running Crunch and Aerial Ace/Aqua Tail since Slowbro is the primary Bulky Water in the tier (and hit harder by Crunch) and you're never going to be winning vs Suicune anyway. In addition to that moveset I would opt to run 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 Spe with a Jolly Nature, this spread allows you to outspeed base 115s before Mega Evolving and Base 130s after. I'll leave the spreads for the Pokemon I suggested below and you can decide whether or not you want to use them cause at the end of the day it's up to you since it's your team n_n goodluck!
