First of all, I want to say I only play Singles, so this team is purely for single battles.
Aggron @ Aggronite
Nature: Careful
Ability: Filter
252 HP/ 252 SpD/ 6 Atk
- Thunder Wave
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
- Roar
The cream of the crop. This is what I chose to build around. I love its design and its monster Defense stat. I love using him as a Paraflincher. Roar takes out any possible set-ups like Azumarill, DD Dragons, etc. While Rock Slide takes care of Talonflame abd Charizard Y.
Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Nature: Impish
Ability: Iron Barbs
252 HP / 252 Def/ 6 Atk
- Gyro Ball
- Protect
- Leech Seed
- Stealth Rock
I just love using this guy as a staller and Iron Barbs + Rocky Helmet punishes lots of Physical Attackers, especially Talonflame. As for stalling it's my favorite one to use, as it also punishes physical attackers. I have Gyro Ball to take advantage of its 0IV speed
Scizor @ Lum Berry
Nature: Impish
Ability: Technician
252 HP / 242 Atk / 16 Def
- Defog
- Bullet Punch
- Roost
- Swords Dance
Although this has served its purpose quite well as a Defogger, I still think I can improve on this part of team. But the added offensive firepower it brings, is making me think twice. Bullet Punch is also crucial.
Now to cover my obvious Fire Weakness:
Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Nature: Bold
Ability: Water Absorb
252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SpA
- Wish
- Protect
- Scald
- Ice Beam
A wish passer is crucial for M-Aggron, IMO. Originally, this was a purely specially defensive Florges, but it didn't blend in with the team quite as good as Vaporeon has. Ice Beam takes care of two of the biggest threats to M-Aggron: Garchomp and Lando-T
Houndoom @ Life Orb
Nature: Timid
Ability: Flash Fire
252 SpA / 252 Spe / 6 HP
- Flamethrower
- Dark Pulse
- Sludge Bomb
- Taunt
At first, it was working out well but I thought I really had to replace it because of its typing. I have replaced it with Arcanine for better bulk and moveset. Having a Dark type just doesn't mesh with my team.
To cover my weakness to Fighting type moves:
Gengar @ Choice Specs
Nature: Timid
Ability: Levitate
252 SpA / 252 Spe / 6 HP
- Sludge Bomb
- Shadow Ball
- Dazzling Gleam
- Thunderbolt
Gengar with Choice Specs is like the 2nd most important member of this team, as it covers my fighting type weaknesses and ground type too. It also works well as a revenge killer. All of its moves are indespensable
I just replaced Houndoom with this Arcanine:
Arcanine @ Life Orb
Jolly Nature
Flash Fire
252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
- Extremespeed
- Flare Blitz
- Close Combat
- Wild Charge
Obviously, this reduces my weakness to fighting type moves and its movepool works quite well with the team. It's also here to catch fire type moves. Wild Charge also provides a good coverage.
What I'm contemplating about now is whether to replace Scizor with a Crobat as a Defogger/Utility with this moveset:
Crobat @ Black Sludge
Jolly Nature
Ability: Infiltrator
252 HP / 252 Speed / 4 Atk
- Taunt
- Defog
- Brave Bird
- Whirlwind
This would help ease my weakness to fighting type moves a lot. Whirlwind is to rack up SR damage with its great speed. Brave Bird is to hit fighting types.
So that's it! Rate my team and help me decide whether to replace Scizor with Crobat or not. Thanks!
