ORAS OU Mega Alakazam + Sharpedo, give me your opinion :D

Hi! I've been playing Pokemon for quite a while and I've been able to make teams in the past that have given me good results. Today I've decided to summit for the time a team to see what other people think about it.

The team is intergrated with:

skarmory.gif

Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Defog
- Brave Bird
- Roost

This Pokemon's main job is just to get rocks up against the other team, and if possible, to mantain rocks of my side of the field. Like any Skarmory, you switch it in to take any physicall move and make sure that the rival takes a little bit of damage do to the Rocky Helmet. The EV spread is just max HP and Def. with the last 4 EVs in speed.

alakazam-mega.gif

Alakazam-Mega (M) @ Alakazite
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 36 HP / 52 Def / 204 SpA / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Calm Mind

Mega Alakazam is an amazing mid-late game sweeper. It is incredibly fast and is able to outspeed a lot of Pokemon, even if they're Scarfed. After 1 boost it really can dish out high damage and with Trace you can even take advantage when you're up against a weather team if you manage to trace Swift Swim (rain team), Sand Rush (sand team) or Chlorophyll (sun team). The EV spread is made so it can out speed M-Lopunny, M-Beedrill and Choice Scarf Landorus if it's adamant, and it has enough defense and HP so it can switch in freely against a Landorus so it can trace Intimidate, lower their attack and survive an EQ. A perfect Pokemon to setup against is Heatran since it will trace Heat Proof, this means Heatran will have to attack with other things such like Flash Cannon or non STAB Earth Power, the only thing to make sure that it doesn't have Roar.

latest

Sharpedo @ Life Orb
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Ice Beam
- Protect

Sharpedo is one of the best late game sweepers from UU, so I decided to bring it to OU and it has done wonders. It can one shot a lot of Pokemon with either of it's moves. If rocks are on the opponent's side of the field , it really helps out this Pokemon since it breaks Sturdy, breaks Focus Sash and sometimes is needed to do enough damage for Sharpedo to kill.

Conkeldurr_XY.png

Conkeldurr @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Ice Punch
- Knock Off

Conkeldurr is the best counter to M-Alakazam's biggest fear, Bisharp. It has the abilty to switch in to a Burn, Toxic or Thunder Wave and take advantage of those. Knock Off is there for Psychic type Pokemon and especially to get rid of items such as Eviolite. Conkeldurr is just a good Pokemon that I found that would help this team out.

Landorus-Therian @ Assault Vest
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off
- U-turn

The reason I decided to go AV instead of Scarf is so I could bluff and when they least expect it, switch move. Even with out the Scarf, Landorus is a great pivot since it can cause a lot of switches.

rotom-wash.gif

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp

Rotom's job: take hits and burn everything. This Pokemon can switch in against EQ from anything except Pokemon with Mold Breaker such as Excadrill. It's a great Talonflame counter, a Pokemon that can really threaten the entire team with it's priority Brave Bird. Once Rotom is getting low, just click Pain Spit so it can gain back some health so it can keep on battling!

Like all teams, this team has threats. The main threats I've come across with this team are the following Pokemon:

94e0f213.gif

The reason that Scizor and M-Scizor are a big threats to my team is because of my team not having any Fire type attacks. The main way of dealing with this Pokemon is with Skarmory.
ferrothorn-4.gif

Ferrothorn has the same problem with Scizor, no Fire type attacks on this team. The only way to get past this Pokemon is Drain Punching it with Conkeldurr or with the risky Focus Blast with M-Alakazam.

Clefable is here because I have no way of hitting it with a super effective move.

It doesn't matter if its mega or not,
Sableye is another Pokemon that I can't touch.

What do you guys think of this team? I think that its a decent team that I have a lot of fun playing with. Any opinion is accepted.

Hey arroyofran2 as you mentioned you struggles a lot , the team isn't best one. It looks weak to a lot of stuffs for example : Clefable , Mega Altaria , Mega Charizards , Sableye and Mega Alakazam itself. So , first of all I want to tell you that Sharpedo is UU becoz of its mega form ,it isn't the best water type in the metagame. The first change that comes into my mind is Keldo > Sharpedo , Keldeo helps you against all the threats you listed in your threatlist it also gives you a solid wall breaker or a wincon with a set up sweeper and a good Mega Gyarados Check! , as Mega Alakazam hate it.

Coming to next point , you should know what type Pokémon is a good defogger , a Mon that gets defog isn't a good defogger, a good defogger can also scare away stealth rocks setter just like Starmie or Latios do to Hippowdon or Garchomp. Skarmory isn't a defogger it can't scare away common rock setters so using it leads to a never ending battle of Rocks and Defog. I think
Lati@s can be a better defogger for your team , as it counters Mega Charizard Y and is a decent Scald switch-in and a decent Keldeo check.

If you agree with my changes then Conkeldurr's only role is that it counters Gengar. It also looks pretty passive in terms of walling. There are more reliable Genagr counters , as they can recover HP in a better way. So I'd suggest
Scizor > Conkeldurr , Scizor helps you in Checking mons like Clefable , Gengar , Alakazam , Mega Metagross and Mega Altaria. Also it gives you a solid wallbreaker and U-turner which gives your team more momentum.

You still looks weak to
Mega Charizard X , defensive lando-t fixes your problem to it , thanks to intimidate it also have recovery unlike Assault Vest Lando-t , as AV lando isn't good , defensive variant helps more against birdspam and Fire types. At last I think Raikou > Rotom-W , it counters everything that Rotom-w does it's a situational change it should only be implied if you still feel weak to Gengar.

Keldeo @ Leftovers
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Calm Mind
- Secret Sword
- Substitute

Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Defog
- Recover

Or

Latias @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 164 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Defog
- Recover

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit

Raikou @ Assault Vest
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball / Extrasensory
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Volt Switch

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 8 Atk / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock
- U-turn

Hope I helped :]......

As you mentioned, Scizor and Ferrothorn are a problem for your team. One way you could fix it would be by changing Calm Mind on Alakazam to [HP] Fire. You would lose the set up, but it would technically solve the issue...

Hey man, you already got a solid rate from Charilax, so I'll keep this short and sweet.

I disagree with replacing Conk simply because it's one of your only real checks to Electric types and it's actually pretty ok at it, so I'd say you can afford to keep it. Conk still does very well against Bisharp as well and arguably checks it better because it at least has Drain Punch to not get worn down as easily as a Keldeo.

Change Landorus-T to a standard Defensive set with Stealth Rocks, AV is just a really subpar set and Defensive helps you with Zard-X and Talonflame, both of which really hurt your team, and just priority attackers in general. Leftovers is also just nice for passive recovery over your AV set. Rocks can probably go over Knock Off.

Changing Landorus-T to a Rocks set opens up that slot on Skarmory for Spikes. Your team loves Spikes, both Mega Zam and Sharpedo love having Spikes up to clutch out certain KOes for them. I'd also replace Brave Bird for Iron Head to do consistent damage to Altaria, Clefable, Diancie, and Gardevoir. An alternative route is to simply swap Skarmory out for Klefki. Keys is much more suited for offensive teams, still counters Fairies, can hurt Sableye, is a better Lati check, and lays up Spikes in addition to supporting the team with Prankster T-Wave. With Defensive Lando on your team already I just feel like having Defensive Skarm too is a bit redundant.

I agree with swapping out Rotom-W, and Raikou is a pretty fine choice, but I think perhaps 3 Attacks Latios is a better replacement simply because right now your team lacks a real nuke and as a result you may find yourself struggling against bulkier teams if you're struggling to win the hazard war. Latios lures out and kills one of the biggest threats to your team right now, Mega Scizor, and is also a much better check to Keldeo.

I'm going to tweak your Sharpedo set a bit to compliment the team's new addition, and add Hydro Pump > Ice Beam and Poison Jab > Waterfall. Poison Jab Sharpedo lures and weakens bulky Fairy types for your Latios and Alakazam, and Hydro Pump pretty much covers the same ground as Ice Beam while still giving you a strong Water type STAB. You'll really only need Crunch to sweep once you get Spikes up anyway.

tl;dr
Standard Defensive Lando > AV Lando
Klefki or Spikes Iron Head Skarm > your Skarm
3 Attack Latios > Rotom Wash
Poison Jab and Hydro Sharpedo > your Sharpedo

Sets:
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock
- U-turn

Klefki @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Spikes
- Magnet Rise
- Flash Cannon or Dazzling Gleam to hit Sableye

Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Draco Meteor

Hope I helped!
