ORAS OU Mega Bird team

Hello! Mega Pidgeot is my favourite mega and I try to use only pokémon I can breed. I built this team and I'd like to know what you guys think about it.

Pidgeot @ Pidgeotite
Ability: Big Pecks
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 SpD
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Heat Wave
- Defog
- Roost

Nothing new about Mega Pidgeot except for defog which is unexpected and it helps to clean the arena specially when there's a Ferrothorn on it. Its defenses are weak but it always defeats at least one foe.

Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Brave Bird
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock
- Roost

It's hard to hit Skarmory and inflict a real damage. Usually, when it happens that's because the foe increased it's attack and that's a great chance to use Toxic and Roost. It's perfect to check any physicall attacker including Mega Lopunny and defeat Conkeldurr, Breloom and some other annoying threats.

Rotom-W @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spe
Bold Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

This 20 EV's on speed is to outspeed Excadrill. Rotom is good because it's annoying. It can deal with Talonflame, Mega Pinsir, Landorus, Hippowdon and with a good predict I can burn some poison types and Ferrothorn. That's why I think I need this pokémon on my team.

Florges @ Leftovers
Ability: Flower Veil
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 SpA
Calm Nature
- Moonblast
- Wish
- Protect/Calm Mind
- Aromatherapy

This is the best special wall I've found. It doesn't die even when hit by super effective special moves. Wish and Aromatherapy are indispensable since it can recover almost dead pokémons. Florges also can hit hard with Moonblast even without investment on SpA. Sometimes I use Calm Mind but Protect seems to be the best option for this set.

Infernape @ Choice Band
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fire Punch
- Thunder Punch
- Close Combat
- U-Turn

It hits real hard! It's my Mega Sableye/Tyranitar killer. On most of the battles I won Infernape was my last pokémon standing. Its set is simple and purely offensive. Thunder Punch was chosen over Poison Jab because Togekiss and Azumarill are the most common fairies and water types don't expect it, specially Gyarados.

Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Stone Edge
- Fire Blast

This team is made for Mega Pidgeot but Garchomp is the actual great pokémon! I've seen all the trainers using the Garchomp's defensive set so Scarfchomp is a good surprise. I don't need to worry about both Charizard X or Y with this guy and specially Mega Manectric trainers hate it. When everything is lost I loose it's Outrage and sometimes it works great!

Well, this is my team. I couldn't reach over than 1550 points on showdown so I think it could be improved. I always pray for not battling against Clefables because it causes me big troubles and always defeat at least one of my pokémon. I'd like to know your suggestions!

I have very very little knowledge of the ou tier, but from what im seeing the ev spreads seem very general while i think they should be aimed to beat threats the team has. Instead of florges, chansey is a nice special wall if u didnt find one. I put some spdef evs on my skarmory. A notable bad match up is as you said, cleable and maybe thundurus since with thunderbolt and hidden power ice it pretty much toys with you. it's taunt by passes ur wall as well. I hope i helped in some way with my amateur comment

A lot of your sets are a bit suboptimal. First of all, Florges is completely outclassed by Sylveon, who has much higher power thanks to Pixilate, higher physical bulk and equal special bulk. But I would go further and replace it with Calm Mind Clefable. Your team doesn't need any Cleric support, since all your pokemon either have recovery, are too offensive to reliably recieve wishes, or both. Calm Mind Clefable gives you a very solid win condition as well as a potential lure for Heatran if you run Focus Blast on it

I would actually run a SpD set on Skarmory and give it Iron Head: the reasoning behind this is that it lets it check Fairy-types, which you have no other answer to, so you want Skarmory to be able to deal with them as well as possible. Assuming you're running Clefable and Rotom-W, you have enough defense against physical attackers (besides I guess Bisharp which Scizor checks, and XZard which revenge kills and beats Skarmory anyway)

Speaking of which, Garchomp should run a Naive nature, not a Naughty nature: Naive lets it outspeed Jolly Charizard-X at +1, which otherwise sweeps you.

Rotom-W really needs Volt Switch: this lets it slow pivot, chipping down the opposing team while bringing your offensive threats in for free and froms a Volt Turn core with Infernape.

I would also give U-Turn to Pidgeot to enhance the VoltTurn aspect of your team as well as wear down checks like Tyranitar and Heatran, Pidgeot isn't really a good Defogger since it's weak to SR. What you could do is put Defog on Skarmory instead of Stealth Rock. This means you need to fit a SRer on your team, you can run it on Clefable since it's quite a good SRer, or you can run a bulky Ground-type SRer like Landorus-T or Hippowdon over Garchomp, which would handle the same kind of Pokemon yoru Garchomp does, except defensively as opposed to offensively. Landorus-T has U-Turn which, once again, is very useful, but Hippowdon has reliable recovery, deals with Ice Punch Metagross and Lopunny, and counters Electric types (but you already have your bulky Fairy for that anyway). You could try Rocky Helmet Garchomp, but if you do that you lose to Mega Charizard X so I don't really reccomend it.
You could also try Spikes on Skarmory as opposed to Defog to gain entry hazard advantage put pressure on the opposing team

After that you're still very weak to Clefable, maybe you could try Talonflame over Infernape, this gives you a Birdspam core. However, there are a few problems with this, namely the fact that Talonflame is very weak to Stealth Rocks so you need to make sure you can Defog hazards away. It makes you weaker to Rotom-W too, though if you have Clefable this isn't too big a problem since it's a very reliable answer to Rotom. It also makes you weaker to Tyranitar, and Heatran, however your bulky Ground can handle these fine for the most part. You can run a bulky set which switches into Clefable easily and can lure Tyranitar with Will-O-Wisp or Heatran with Taunt, or you could run. You can also run a Natural Gift set : Salac Berry (Fighting type) hits Tyranitar x4 and Heatran x2, Apicot Berry (Ground-type) hits Heatran x45 and Tyranitar x2, and Liechi Berry (Grass type) hits Rotom-W and Tyranitar x2. Also, keep in mind that if you do not run WoW, you become weak to Bisharp and cannot run Landorus-T as your bulky Ground since it can't switch into Bisharp.

Another thing you could do is make your team more offensive and run Banded Scizor over Skarmory, not only does it act as a check to Fairies and beats Clefable too, but it also provides even more U-Turn support and weakens Heatran even further, or outright KOs it with Superpower. If you do this, make sure you run a bulky Ground-type as your SRer like I suggested

If you do keep Infernape I would run Flare Blitz over Fire Punch on it since it's significantly stronger even with Iron Fist.
