ORAS OU Mega BroChan (Stall Team)

Hello everyone. Meety here to post my very first team in the Smogon forums and I'd like to share the team I build to anyone that's interested in it. The team is mostly around the bulkiness of the two main great walls... Mega Slowbro and Chansey. Could this probably be the new "SkarmBliss" combo?

Team

Slowbro @ Slowbronite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Fire Blast
- Slack Off
Mega Slowbro being one of, if not THE bulkiest Water and Psychic type of all time. With a base Defense of 180 and the ability Shell Armor, this thing doesn't have to about those critical hits (Unless the ability Mold Breaker/Terravolt/Turboblaze was to ruin that fun) and take on Choice Banded Azumarills, Talonflames, or hard hitting physical Pokes as much as the average Slowbro. On top of that it won't take much damage from the common move it's weak to which is Knock Off because of its Mega Stone staying intact. Why give regular Slowbro Regenerator over Oblivious? Well simply because I'm mostly running offense on this and in case if my opponent was to double switch and if I was to take hazard damage, I want to make sure Slowbro is still good and healthy until I want to Mega evolve it.

Chansey_XY.gif

Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Wish
- Soft-Boiled
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
This set is not much of a surprise, Wish passing and special wall stopper, but I do need a Toxic user to wear down walls myself or something threatening my team in general. Moving on.

TrevenantSprite_XY.gif

Trevenant @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Harvest
EVs: 252 HP / 72 Def / 184 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Leech Seed
- Substitute
- Will-O-Wisp
- Curse
My favorite set of all time. Stops things like Rotom-W, burn down Ferrothorn or other physical Pokemon and can help to gain more HP for itself with Leech Seed and if worn down the Harvest + Sitrus Berry will do its job. Curse is to bypass and weaken Magic Bounce or keep other Pokemon from setting up.

ConkeldurrXY.gif

Conkeldurr @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off
- Ice Punch
- Mach Punch
I found out this team needed some offense. Most of all, something to take Burn, Paralysis, or Poison/Toxic. So this was what I needed and to addition of that Knock Off to rid items and that fun stuff. It turns out this Pokemon helped me a lot when I didn't know I needed it the most.

ExcadrillXY.gif

Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
Conkeldurr wasn't the only Pokemon needed for this team. So I wanted a Stealth Rock user plus a Spinner even though Stealth Rocks isn't really much of a problem to this team, but look at my team... they're ALL grounded. So things like Spikes/T-Spikes can do a number to this team. Also I needed something for Rotom-W and Clefable, because Cosmic Power Clefable is a threat to this team big time.

Sylveon_XY.gif

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice
- Heal Bell
- Protect
- Wish
And the star Heal Bell user itself. I felt I also needed another Wish Passer to keep my team healthy as possible and things like SubRoost Mega Salamence isn't much of a threat, if I have Mega Slowbro around, but it can be without it, so I needed a Fairy and also something to weaken Sub users. First time ever using this Pokemon for any team, so Stall was its time to shine.

Weaknesses
So far the only thing I found weak to this team is Mega Metagross, but it's not a fully physical offensive set. No... it's one with Grass Knot. I seriously got destroyed by it with the moves Meteor Mash, Zen Headbutt, Hammer Arm, and Grass Knot. I knew Mega Metagross was a wallbreaker of sorts, but I didn't realize solely on this team! So be on the look for that. Another wallbreaker is Mega Pinsir, if it were to setup a Swords Dance although Mega Slowbro can take a hit from it, it'll be out the next turn as it will be able to sweep this team, so you have to make sure to weaken that.

Hey, nice team! However, you do realize that there's an ORAS OU tag right? The tag you have now (XY OU) is kinda misleading. Anyways, here are my suggestions:

Sylveon and Blissey on the same team is kinda redundant......both can serve the same purpose as a Cleric and Wish-passer. I suggest you switch Toxic for Heal Bell on Chansey and change Sylveon for a more offensive specs set. Try these sets:

Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Soft-Boiled
- Seismic Toss
- Heal Bell

Sylveon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 244 HP / 252 SpA / 12 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Ground]/Hidden Power [Fire]

Next, your M-Slowbro set is very nice, however have you ever tried using CroBro, the set allows M-Slowbro to make up for its below average SpDef and abuse the fact that it can't be crit-ed by using Calm Mind. Just food for thought. This is the set in case you wanna try:

Slowbro @ Slowbroite
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Slack Off/Rest
- Psyshock/Sleep Talk
- Scald

Hope it helps!

I would change the EVs around to give Mega Slowbro for special bulk. The reasoning is that keeping a Bold nature gives it's already high defenses a great boost, but some investment in Special Defense serves it better, especially after some Calm Mind boosts. More or less copying and pasting the post Zebstrika made in one of the ORAS threads:

People EV the Calm Mind set wrong imo. Mega Slowbro's Defense is so high, if you go 252 HP/252 Def/4 SpD Bold, you'll be weaker on your special side than your physical...after three Calm Minds! But if you're gonna break Slowbro, you're not waiting until it has 3 Calm Minds; you send in your strongest special attacker and get to work after 1-2 Calm Minds. So don't put your EVs into Defense, also because EVs have a bigger percentage return if you put them in the lower stat (nature is a 10% boost either way, so you can keep a Bold nature). So 252 HP / 16 Def / 240 SpD Bold makes it a lot more difficult to break Slowbro after just one or two calm minds:

Special
252 SpA Pixilate Mega Gardevoir Hyper Voice vs. +1 252 HP / 4 SpD Slowbro: 183-216 (46.4 - 54.8%) -- 62.1% chance to 2HKO
252 SpA Pixilate Mega Gardevoir Hyper Voice vs. +1 252 HP / 240 SpD Slowbro: 141-166 (35.7 - 42.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

252 SpA Life Orb Latios Draco Meteor vs. +1 252 HP / 4 SpD Slowbro: 220-261 (55.8 - 66.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Latios Draco Meteor vs. +1 252 HP / 240 SpD Slowbro: 172-203 (43.6 - 51.5%) -- 6.3% chance to 2HKO

252 SpA Sceptile Leaf Storm vs. +1 252 HP / 4 SpD Slowbro: 368-434 (93.4 - 110.1%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO
252 SpA Sceptile Giga Drain vs. +1 252 HP / 4 SpD Slowbro: 216-254 (54.8 - 64.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Sceptile Leaf Storm vs. +1 252 HP / 240 SpD Slowbro: 284-336 (72 - 85.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Sceptile Giga Drain vs. +1 252 HP / 240 SpD Slowbro: 164-194 (41.6 - 49.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
Basically, Slack Off becomes a risk free move but only with the 240 SpD once Sceptile comes in, because either Leaf Storm misses the OHKO and drops its special attack, or Giga Drain can't outdamage it and you know you can set up more calm minds on it.

252 SpA Life Orb Protean Greninja Grass Knot (100 BP, Mega Slowbro is heavier) vs. +1 252 HP / 4 SpD Slowbro: 234-276 (59.3 - 70%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Protean Greninja Grass Knot (100 BP) vs. +1 252 HP / 240 SpD Slowbro: 179-213 (45.4 - 54%) -- 42.2% chance to 2HKO
Yeah that's another Calm Mind with those EVs, instead of being 2HKO'd.

252 SpA Life Orb Gengar Shadow Ball vs. +1 252 HP / 4 SpD Slowbro: 273-322 (69.2 - 81.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Gengar Shadow Ball vs. +1 252 HP / 240 SpD Slowbro: 211-250 (53.5 - 63.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
If Slowbro's at perfect health, in a pinch it can go for a 2nd Calm Mind, which will work on a pair of low rolls and no SpD drops.
252 SpA Life Orb Gengar Shadow Ball vs. +2 252 HP / 240 SpD Slowbro: 159-190 (40.3 - 48.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Giga Drain vs. +1 252 HP / 4 SpD Slowbro: 206-246 (52.2 - 62.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Giga Drain vs. +1 252 HP / 240 SpD Slowbro: 158-188 (40.1 - 47.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Physical
252 Atk Life Orb Weavile Knock Off vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 125-148 (31.7 - 37.5%) -- 78.6% chance to 3HKO
252 Atk Life Orb Weavile Knock Off vs. 252 HP / 16+ Def Slowbro: 143-172 (36.2 - 43.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

252+ Atk Adaptability Beedrill U-turn vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 180-212 (45.6 - 53.8%) -- 34.4% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Adaptability Beedrill U-turn vs. 252 HP / 16+ Def Slowbro: 204-240 (51.7 - 60.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ Atk Mega Heracross Pin Missile (5 hits) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 280-340 (71 - 86.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Mega Heracross Pin Missile (5 hits) vs. 252 HP / 16+ Def Slowbro: 330-390 (83.7 - 98.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+2 252 Atk Sceptile Leaf Blade vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 246-290 (62.4 - 73.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 Atk Sceptile Leaf Blade vs. 252 HP / 16+ Def Slowbro: 282-332 (71.5 - 84.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 Atk Aerilate Mega Pinsir Return vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 117-138 (29.6 - 35%) -- 13.4% chance to 3HKO
252 Atk Aerilate Mega Pinsir Return vs. 252 HP / 16+ Def Slowbro: 133-157 (33.7 - 39.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
So 252 Def EVs/4 SpD takes about 13% less physical damage, but 16 Def/240 SpD takes about 23% less special damage, and you'll need it more if you are trying to start up a sweep.

That's really the only change I have to suggest.

I have to admit, I was thinking before that it would be perfectly acceptable to run max def on MegaBro. For once, a comment on the internet has actually changed my opinion on something. Especially when most of what you listed happens very commonly for me. I run a stall team, and quite frankly Mega Venu causes me (and my Bro) many issues. I'd switch to Sylveon to tank a Giga Drain, but this didn't exactly work out very well, for obvious reasons.
