Mega Charizard X Team

Hey, everyone! I’m new both to the site and competitive battling scene, but I've been playing since Gen 1 and this is my first attempt at building a team. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Charizard @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Adamant
-Dragon Dance
-Flare Blitz
-Dragon Claw
-Earthquake
EVs: (252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 Def)

My physical sweeper and centerpiece of this team, Mega Charizard X has pretty good coverage and is able to do some serious damage once he gets a dance or two off. He serves as the first part of my FWG core and occasional lead. If possible, this is the one member of the team I’d like to avoid replacing, as he’s not only my favorite, but also shiny, and that Masuda Method breeding took forever.

Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Timid
-Rapid Spin
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Hydro Pump
EVs: (252 SpA / 252 Spd / 4 HP)

The second member of my core and necessary Rapid Spinner. The nature and EVs are to give it max speed for spinning and BoltBeam rounds out it coverage. The main issue I’ve been running into with it is its frailty, and attempts at replacing it with a bulkier spinner (i.e. Tentacruel/Assault Vest Blastoie) have been even less successful overall.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
Nature: Relaxed
-Power Whip
-Stealth Rock
-Leach Seed
-Protect
EVs: (252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SpD)

The final member of my FWG core, physical wall, and typical lead. Ferrothorn has been doing its job fantastically and at present time is the closest thing I have to a Mega Kangaskhan counter. While it does miss having Gyro Ball, I’ve had much more success with Protect, being able to chip away at things with entry damage, Leech Seed, and Iron Barbs. Since he’s just begging for fire attacks he’s also a good pivot for a switch to Charizard.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
Nature: Adamant
-Bullet Punch
-Brick Break
-Pursuit
-U-turn
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SDef

Pretty standard here, and another team member that lets me switch to Charizard when I predict a fire type move. He was mostly chosen to deal with fairies and give me some type of priority, but the screen-breaking and scouting options have come in handy too, while he also serves as a good check to Tyranitar.

Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid
-Shadow Ball
-Sludge Bomb
-Focus Blast
-Thunderbolt
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP

My revenge killer. With Timid and Scarf, Gengar is able to outspeed nearly everything (including Mega Gengar, who it OHKOs) and it can also spin block, and switch safely into an Earthquake or Fighting type move. Sucker Punch and Shadow Sneak have definitely been causing it problems though, as has Gale Wings Talonflame.

Togekiss @ Assault Vest
Ability: Serene Grace
Nature: Modest
-Fire Blast
-Dazzling Gleam
-Aura Sphere
-Air Slash
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Def / 4 SDef

Togekiss serves as my pseudo-special wall and loves to switch in on dragon attacks. The EVs are to give it maximum bulk and even though it’s slow it still packs quite a punch. As with Charizard, its biggest enemy is entry hazards.

So that’s my team. I’m sure there’s room for improvement, so any feedback given would be welcomed. Thanks
