Charizard-Mega-X @ Charizardite X
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Outrage
- Earthquake / Roost
Mega Charizard X is a newly discovered beast in National Dex. It has all the tools to be an incredible off-meta sweeper; its unique STAB combination threatens most common defensive Pokemon, like Rotom-W, Ferrothorn, Gliscor, and Garchomp, and Earthquake hits the likes of Toxapex and Heatran. Dragon Dance allows Mega Charizard X to outspeed Pokemon that are commonly relied on for their Speed like Tapu Koko, Weavile, and Mega Lopunny, as well as most Choice Scarf users like Tapu Lele and Landorus-T. Its incredible defensive typing also gives Mega Charizard X a plethora of setup opportunities on foes like Mega Scizor, Choice-locked Kartana, and Heatran. Mega Charizard X fits best on offense. Pairing it up with entry hazard control such as Landorus-T, Mew, Tapu Fini, and Kartana helps it overcome its weakness to entry hazards; Tapu Fini, in particular, is an incredibly valuable teammate, as Misty Terrain lets Charizard freely set up on Toxapex, Heatran, and Ferrothorn, albeit it weakens Outrage. Faster cleaners like Choice Scarf Kartana, Hawlucha, and Weavile appreciate its breaking prowess. Healing Wish from Clefable and Jirachi is also great on variants without Roost.
