Mega Floette
Pre-Mega Base Stats: 74 HP / 65 Atk / 67 Def / 125 SpA / 128 SpD / 92 Spe
Mega Base Stats: 74 HP / 85 Atk / 87 Def / 155 SpA / 148 SpD / 102 Spe
Ability: Fairy Aura
Main STAB Options:
Draining Kiss
Light of Ruin
Moonblast
Useful Moves:
Calm Mind
Grass Knot
Psychic
Stored Power
Synthesis
Trailblaze
Wish
Pros:
- Great special bulk, decent physical bulk, and a good defensive typing give it lots of opportunities to set up, attack, or fill a utility role with Wish
- Incredible offensive potential with strong stab moves in Moonblast and Light of Ruin, further boosted by Fairy Aura
- Good speed tier for a bulky setup sweeper
Cons:
- Poor coverage gives it no options to hit steel types
- Fairy resists prevent Floette from using its Fairy Aura boosted STAB moves
- Very one-dimensional; You can reliably beat Floette the same way regardless of what set it's running
Offensive Setup -
Floette-Eternal (F) @ Floettite
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Psychic/Light of Ruin
- Synthesis/Draining Kiss
This set is best into offense, where the power of its Fairy Aura +1 STAB Moonblast feels impossible to switch into. As mentioned earlier, Floette has few options to hit its resists besides Psychic for Poison types. Even then, at +1, this Pokemon is powerful enough to severely damage its resists, like Excadrill and Scizor, to where they can't switch into another Moonblast later in the game. I'd also like to note that Fairy Aura Moonblast is stronger into Fire-type Fairy resists than the neutral Psychic. Light of Ruin can be run over Psychic to hit Steel-types and Fire-types harder, with the drawback of significant recoil damage.
Bulky Setup -
Floette-Eternal (F) @ Floettite
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Draining Kiss
- Stored Power/Psychic
- Synthesis
Draining Kiss boosted by Fairy Aura still does respectable damage, even at a lower base power than Moonblast. This set runs more bulk to capitalize on that aspect. Stored Power also gives it an option to hit hard with a lot of boosts, and also lets it beat Skeledirge I think(?).
Substitute Setup -
Floette-Eternal (F) @ Floettite
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Draining Kiss/Moonblast
- Psychic/Synthesis
- Substitute
This set is nasty. I'm not sure how fat teams are supposed to beat this thing behind a substitute. Even Slowking-G loses to this with a few Calm Mind boosts.
Trailblaze -
Floette-Eternal (F) @ Floettite
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 36 HP / 252 SpA / 220 Spe
Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Trailblaze
- Moonblast/Draining Kiss
- Psychic
A cool idea on screens HO. You outspeed everything in the meta at +1, even with modest!
Synth 3A -
Floette-Eternal (F) @ Floettite
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Light of Ruin
- Moonblast
- Psychic
- Synthesis
Moonblast without boosts is still very strong, and this set allows you to pick off would-be answers that can take two Moonblasts with a nuclear stab option in Light of Ruin.
Support -
Floette-Eternal (F) @ Floettite
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Moonblast
- Psychic/Calm Mind
- Wish
- Protect/Calm Mind
Wish can be used to support its teammates without recovery, like Aegislash or Samurott-Hisui, while also having more PP than Synthesis.
