VGC Mega Gallade Team

This is my first time dabbling in VGC. I don't have much experience with competitive battle, so I expect I'll need to tweak my team a lot. I hope I'm off to a good start, at least!

Gallade @ Galladeite
Ability: Justified / Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Nature: Jolly
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Protect
- Zen Headbutt

The main attacker and star of the team! Mega Gallade has decent enough defenses to get a Swords Dance off. Knock Off is just a great move and Zen Headbutt deals reliable STAB damage. A STAB Close Combat deals devastating damage. I run Protect because it is difficult to set up a Swords Dance.

Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Nature: Bold
- Ice Beam
- Protect
- Scald
- Tailwind

My speed control support! Suicune can eat up hits all day. Ice Beam is for good coverage and Protect lets him munch on his leftovers. Scald is for obvious reasons, and Tailwind really helps Gallade and lets Talonflame beat other priority moves.

Sylveon @ Choice Specs
Abilty: Pixelate
EVs: 252 SpA / 188 HP / 68 Def
Nature: Calm
- Hyper Beam
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball

Not only does Sylveon prove herself to be adorable, but a total powerhouse as well. Pixelate lets her hit both opponents with a powerful STAB Hyper Voice, and Hyper Beam deals devastating damage. Psyshock and Shadow Ball give her reliable coverage. I gave her Choice Specs because she runs all attacks.

Talonflame @ Choice Band
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Nature: Adamant
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- U-Turn
- Will-O-Wisp

This is a pretty standard Talonflame set. Will-O-Wisp helps in shutting down opponents faster than Mega Gallade. Brave Bird plus Choice Band for obvious reasons. Talonflame also helps Gallade and Tyranitar deal with Fairy-types.

Tyranitar @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Nature: Adamant
- Crunch
- Low Kick
- Protect
- Rock Slide

Once again, this is a pretty standard Tyranitar set. He is a reliable bulky attacker and works in synergy with Mega Gallade. Low Kick is useful for dealing with bulkier opponents, and Crunch and Rock Slide are great STAB moves on him.

Amoonguss @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 192 Def / 4 SpD
Nature: Relaxed
- Giga Drain
- Protect
- Rage Powder
- Spore

Amoongus is my team's annoyer. He deals with bulkier water types and slows down faster opponents with Rage Powder and Spore. Rocky Helmet deals extra damage, and Regenerator and Giga Drain restore a decent amount of HP.

I'd say protect > sd on gallade, as it's quite difficult to safely set up, and it can be forced out quite easily by mence, talonflame, or other fast attackers, wasting precious turns. Also, justified is a better pre mega ability, as you may gain an attack boost on switchins, whereas it's almost always more favorable to not flinch with inner focus than gain a speed boost with steadfast.

For sylveon, you should use choice specs>sitrus, as you're running 4 attacks and sylv really needs a boosting item to deal damage. Also, replace moonblast with hyper beam, which keeps the benefit of avoiding wide guard while also dishing out ridiculous damage.

Also, a bulky water like rotom wash laughs in the face of your offense. Paired with megagross or something equally threatening to sylveon, washtom will have fun spamming burns and super effective hits.
Something i'd suggest is replacing klefki with amoonguss, who can protect your frailer mons by redirecting attacks, while also putting enemy threats to sleep. I'm not familiar with lvl 50 spreads, but the set is spore, rage powder, giga drain, protect, with ability regenerator and item sitrus berry.
