Overview
When starting the teambuilding process, I really wanted to create a solid, tournament quality team around scarf Pheromosa. Pheromosa was one of those mons that looked AMAZING on paper, but I just never felt that feeling of "this team is great" when I built around it, until now.

Garchomp-Mega @ Garchompite
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Fire Fang
- Swords Dance
When looking through pheromosa's "checks and counters", I saw Tapu Fini, Mantine, Lando-T, Toxapex, and the like. I wanted a mon that would wear them down (as well as something that isn't used often), and after looking through mons, I saw Mega Garchomp. This MONSTER has a 71.9% chance to 2-Hit-KO standard Tapu-Fini after rocks. Dragon claw is a guaranteed 2-Hit-KO on physically defensive Mantine. Chomps +2 fire fang does 62-72% to physically defensive Celesteela, as well as 59-70% to physdef skarm. This breaker is a underrated threat and when using the team you will notice that not many people are truly "prepared" for its power.

Pheromosa @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- High Jump Kick
- Lunge
- Poison Jab
This mon is a great late-game-cleaner. It's lack of bulk makes it susceptible to priority, but the other members of this team can handle almost every form of priority. With u-turn for momentum and heavy hitters in the back, opposing teams are quickly worn down for this beast to clean up. The set is self explanatory, and their is not much else to say.

Tangrowth @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Knock Off
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Greninja was looking like a threat, and I thought AV Tangrowth was a perfect fit to the team, as it is a great pivot to take on Tapu-Koko, Bulu, Fini, Lele (to an extant), Zhyarde as well as gren. Sludge bomb is for the Tapus, knock for support, giga drain for STAB and hp ice for Zhygard, Lando and Chomp.

Landorus-Therian @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
Landorus-T is one of the most self explanatory mons in OU. A great check to just about all physical attackers, stealth rock setter, and momentum grabber with u-turn. Hp ice is for weakening opposing Lando for pheromosa late game, the rest is self explanatory.

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Defog
- Roost
- Discharge
- Heat Wave
The team needed a defogger, and mega pinsir was a huge threat as Lando lacks stone edge, as well as scizor. Zapdos provides defog plus counters those two stated above. It also gives me a switch in to the ever-annoying Celesteela. Discharge over thunderbolt because a para on a fast threat really helps Mega Chomp out alot. Heat wave is for Sciz/Bulu. 16 speed is for adamant Bisharp.

Volcanion @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 72 HP / 252 SpA / 184 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Steam Eruption
- Flamethrower
- Sludge Wave
- Substitute
For the final member of the team, I wanted to use a mon that has potential in the tier but is never used. Volcanion was a great fit. With Tapu-Fini bein the main water/fire resist in the tier is reat for this mon. Sludge wave is a guaranteed 2-hit-KO on standard Fini after rocks, and Volcanion walls it anyway. Substitute can create havoc if set up on a switch, and will almost always guarantee you a KO. Mantine does wall this set, but Zapdos is a solid switch-in and Garchomp pressures it. The speed investment is for Impish 16 speed Lando.
Threats
Tapu-Lele is a nuisance for this team, but Tangrowth takes 2 hits from non-specs and there are plenty of ways to play around it, you just have to play smart. You could put Ferrothorn over Tang for Lele, but Tangrowth outclasses it in all other occasions. Other than that, I haven't found any problems or weaknesses in the team. Conclusion
This is probably my favorite team in SuMo. With some fun mons its a blast to use, and also a solid pick for a tour match. If you want to see me showcase the team, check me out at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzetvxl6T3Kfr2V6dXEd4-Q as I will be using the team soon.Garchomp-Mega @ Garchompite
