ORAS OU Mega Gardevoir's Fabulous Reign

Hello people. I am YoloHipsterSwag (I am also YoloHipsterSwag on PS). Today, I am going to showcase my first team. It has been successful on PS, around 8 wins in 10 games (I am 1140 and climbing). This team is based on my favorite Pokemon, Gardevoir, who recently has a mega evolution. I am fond of using my favorite pokemon in my battles. Without furder ado, here is my team.

But first, let us see how my team got together:

First, my favorite Pokemon : Gardevoir.

Next, I want a fast dragon. So I turn to my second favorite Pokemon : Garchomp

Then, I want a Pokemon that can take physical hits that isn't usually used for this purpose. So, Rotom-W.

Next is a Pokemon to take hits. A Heatran comes to my mind.

I am fond of dragons. I want another hard hitter. Kyurem-B is just so amazing, he has to be on my team.

Lastly, an Excadrill. I don't know why, but Excadrill urges me to put him on my team.

Now that I have 6 Pokemons, or Pokemen (What is the plural of Pokemon??), here is every Pokemon and its purpose:

MegaGard.jpg

Night Knight (Gardevoir) (M) @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Synchronize
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 24 HP / 232 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Substitute

This is what my team is all about. It is just so, amazing. Beauty aside, it hits like a truck, too. Base 165 is nothing to scoff at. This guy is my special attacker - It is fast, and furious. Most of the time, it spams Pixilate-boosted Hyper Voices but sometimes it sets up a substitute to ease prediction. The EVs are standard - I want full speed to speed tie with base 100s, like Charizard, and 24 at HP to give it some bulk. The rest are poured in Special Attack. The attacks are standard, too - Hyper Voice is for STAB and hitting those weak to it, and neutral to it. Anything that resists Hyper Voice is met with Psyshock. Focus Miss is just there to hit steel-types. I switch this in when their status induce is down, because my team doesn't have a cleric and this guy hates status. Even though this guy has a substitute, I should always take the status inducer, especially the ones with Prankster. This Pokemon takes out most Pokemon that can give this team headaches, like Conkeldurr, Gengar (on the switch), Special Rotom-W, most Dragon types, and more.

Jetstream (Garchomp) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Poison Jab
- Dragon Claw

I just love the ScarfChomp set. I forgo Fire Blast for Poison Jab since I need to hit those damn Fairies. Role is simple - Hit hard and fast. EVs are standard, too. Max speed, full attack. This is my Revenge Killer, and my physical attacker. Earthquake for Pokemon weak to it and neutral to it, Dragon Claw if Pokemon is weak to it, Stone Edge for Flying types, And Poison Jab for damning Fairies. I might swap out Dragon claw for Dual Chop to break sashes. This Guy takes care of Pokemon that give Mega Gardevoir Headaches.

Mr. Kleen (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 212 Def / 48 SpA
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Thunder Wave
- Will-O-Wisp

This Guy's purpose in life is to take physical hit and dish out a-bit-powerful hits. This guy is a troll - he has two status moves, Will-o-Wisp and Thunder Wave. I usually trick people into thinking that I have only one status. Set is standard, but I changed some EVs. I put more Special Attack EVs so it can hit harder - 4 EVs are not going to cut it. Volt switch is to deal damage while switching out, and Hydro Pump is for STAB.

Heatran.jpg

Iron Maiden (Heatran) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 48 SpA / 212 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Roar
- Lava Plume

This Pokemon is meant to take Special hits. Although this is my hazard setter, I don't usually lead with this Pokemon because it would be way too obvious and people would get a Heatran killer. Evs are just like Rotom-Ws, except it is specially defensive. Lava Plume is for STAB and for fishing some burns, Toxic is for more status. Roar is for to make good use of Stealth Rock. This Pokemon is also a full stop to Talonflame, who would otherwise annihilate half of my team. This is one of its purpose, stop that Mockingjay!

blackie.png

Black Death (Kyurem-Black) @ Life Orb
Ability: Teravolt
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 56 SpA / 200 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Outrage
- Ice Beam
- Fusion Bolt

This is another hard hitting dragon in my sleeve. Those speed EVs are just enough to outrun Adamant Excadrill. This set uses the full attacking power of Kyurem-Black. Outrage hits like a truck (able to OHKO Max HP Conkeldurr). The rest EVs are dumped in Special Attack to provide a boost for Ice Beam, which takes care of Landorus-T. Life Orb boosts its attacks greatly, with the cost of HP. This is my second physical attacker, and a great addition to my team. This usually gets a lot of switching, and my team benefits from that in a lot of ways, like stacking up Stealth Rock damage.

sadasdadada.jpg

IamADrilbur (Excadrill) (F) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin

My last addition of my team, Excadrill was a toss-up. I just couldn't decide whether I keep this in my team or not. Anyways, this guy helped a lot of times during battle - dishing out powerful attacks, and removing hazards. Moveset is standard - Earthquake for grounded foes and it is its strongest STAB, Rock slide for Flying types who is immune to Earthquake, Iron Head is only coverage and STAB (I don't use it often), and Rapid Spin for clearing out hazards. Not much more is needed to say about this guy.

So this is where it ends. If you have suggestions, please let me know right away. This is my first RMT. Thank you guys, and see ya in PS.

I got things to do atm so this will be short but you first off you get swept by bisharp p much once you lock yourself into outrage or d claw they get the free sweep. Put speed on Rotom to outspeed max speed jolly sharp to prevent losing or just put Sub+Cm keld to beat cro bro and crocune oh shit and sableye hope i helped

Okay, first of all, I can see Chansey being a problem for your team. The only thing on your team that can actually break past it is Kyurem-B, which has to lock itself into Outrage which is very exploitable. One way to deal with Chansey better is to run Taunt on MGardevoir : this enables it to actually beat it thanks to Psyshock. However, this makes you much weaker to Bisharp since you can't Sub on its Sucker Punch. A better option would be to run Taunt on Heatran instead of Roar. This lets you put a lot of pressure on Chansey, to the point where it can easily end up in KO range from another one of your Pokemon.

You are a bit weak to a few other Pokemon. Most notably, you don't have anything that can switch into Bisharp as stated above, and your team has no Dark resist at all so the opponent can easily spam powerful Dark-type moves if he has the chance to do so. Thundurus can be scary to play around, sine your only switchin, is KO'd by HP Ice, and all it takes is an EQ to give it a free opportunity to come in. Landorus-I also looks very threatening, only Excadrill and Rotom-W can switch into an Earth Power, and the latter gets KO'd by Focus Blast after some prior damage which is not hard to get on Rotom-W, especially since it lacks Pain Split. Mega-Lopunny can be very threatening, the only thing able to switch into HJK being Garchomp who you kinda want to save for revenge killing. In fact, your team is vulnerable to Fighting types in general, since most of them can still deal a lot of damage to MGardevoir, your only Fighting resist, with their coverage moves. For these reasons, I would actually run Celebi over Kyurem-B. I don't think you need Kyu-B much in all honesty, you already have a very good wallbreaker in MGardevoir. Celebi covers most of the threats I've mentioned, can pass Substitutes or even Nasty Plots to MGardevoir, and also deals with Rotom-W perfectly also has excellent synergy with Heatran and completes a Fire/Water/Grass core.

However, using Celebi just makes your weakness Bisharp worse. You could actually use Celebi as a lure for Bisharp thanks to Earth Power, however, I think you need something that can actually switch into it. I think replacing Excadrill with a Bisharp counter would be the way to go here. Beyond hazard removal, Excadrill doesn't provide anything for your team (you already have a Ground type and a Steel type, and Excadrill is honestly a bit slow and frail on its own) and since the only SR-weak Pokemon on your team is Kyurem-B, I think you can afford to go without it. As for what to replace it with, I think Keldeo could work since it's one of the best answers to Bisharp available and also serves as a secondary wallbreaker, however, I think Conkeldurr would also fit on your team quite well : while it can't really switch into Iron Heads very well, it is still a solid check to Bisharp and Dark-types in general, and additionally, deals with Gengar who is a big threat to your team especially if you run Celebi.

Alternatively, if you really think you need hazard removal, you could use Latios instead of Celebi. However, it can't really switch into Mega-Lopunny, doesn't give you a secondary Azumarill switchin which would help your team, and takes stray Knock Offs far worse, though running Hidden Power Fighting for Bisahrp coudl be an nice option.

Other suggestions : Remove Poison Jab on Garchomp for Outrage. Without Outrage, Garchomp can't efficiently clean weakened teams, and Poison Jab hits nothing, all targets taking just as much damage from Poison Jab. Also, I would give Rotom-W 44 Speed Evs, 48 more SpA is really not going to matter much, and 44 Speed EVs enables it to outspeed BD Azumarill.
