Mega Glalie is one of NU's most effective Spikes setters due to its ability to easily force switches and get opportunities to freely set Spikes. Mega Glalie also benefits from other utility moves in Explosion and Ice Shard, which strengthen its ability to wallbreak and let it function as a revenge killer. The combination of Spikes, Mega Glalie's raw power, and Earthquake makes it an incredibly self-sufficient wallbreaker, managing to break through checks such as Incineroar, Steelix, and Delphox. Mega Glalie appreciates being paired with entry hazard control from the likes of Blastoise, Dhelmise, and Xatu due to its great susceptibility to hazards. Additionally, Mega Glalie benefits from teammates such as Heliolisk, Alolan Exeggutor, and Sceptile that can take advantage of bulky Water-types that Mega Glalie draws in.
