A lot of defensive Cores became more viable when Gren was banned. Tran/Amoon, Amoon/Bro, Skarm/Chansey, Mew/Lando/Tran, Ferro/Lando/Lati (rekt by Gren), etc.

Gyara got a pwrful stab move this gen (Crunch), a move that it didn't get in XY. Crunch allows you to bypass mons like Lat@s (u don't have to worry about Ice Fang missing), Stallbreaker Mew and Slowbro. However, Gyara is still walled by mons like Azumarill, Skarmory, Ferrothorn, Physically Defensive Clefable, Chesnaught (if u don't have Ice Fang), Keldeo (to an extent, EQ does 50%+ at 1+) and Mega Venu.

The team I made is LITERALLY built around Gyara. I just added mons that can deal with Gyara's counters/checks.

So here she is, the star of the team :

130-m.png
Gyarados (Gyarados-Mega) @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 40 HP / 216 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake / Taunt (for ferro, mew, etc.)

One of the best sweepers in OU imo, it can setup on most of the OU meta because of its bulk. Also, don't Mega this thing right off the bat, as its non-mega form can setup on Keldeo. This thing is one of the strongest water types in the game. Unlike other setup sweepers, Gyara can setup on SOME counters before Mega Evolving. (that's assuming you run taunt)

Counter Calcs
-1 4 Atk Ferrothorn Gyro Ball (150 BP) vs. 40 HP / 0 Def Gyarados: 62-73 (18.1 - 21.4%) -- possible 7HKO after Leftovers recovery

-1 4 Atk Ferrothorn Power Whip vs. 40 HP / 0 Def Gyarados: 100-118 (29.3 - 34.6%) -- 99.9% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

-1 0 Atk Skarmory Brave Bird vs. 40 HP / 0 Def Gyarados: 87-103 (25.5 - 30.2%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

bisharp.gif
Bisharp @ Lum Berry / Dread Plate
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 84 HP / 248 Atk / 176 Spe 8 HP / 248 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance / Pursuit
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head

Shits on stall. Punishes Defog. Deals with fairies (fuck clef) + it's a nice pursuit trapper.

latios.gif

Latios (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Defog
- Trick

Scarf Latios is one of the fastest mons in the OU metagame. It can deal with stuff like Chesnaught (which is a hard counter to Gyara) by tricking it a Scarf. Trick just deals with pink fat mons in general :]

heatran.gif

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Protect
- Toxic
- Lava Plume

If you look at my team right now, it gets destroyed by fairy types (no switch-ins) Heatran is my rocker, it has a great typing which makes it one of the best defensive mons in the game. (sadly doesn't get a recovery move) Lava Plume for standard.stab, Toxic is for fat mons such as Slowbro, Unaware Clef, Chesnaught, etc. It's the only mon on my team that can take a shit on Ferrothorn.

landorus-therian.gif

Landorus (Landorus-Therian) (M) @ Earth Plate Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 240 HP / 56 Atk / 4 Def / 4 Spe 248 HP / 180 Def / 80 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- U-turn / Toxic
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake

With it's great typing and ability, Landorus-T is one of the best pivots in the game. I often use to lead with him to bluff the scarf. Also, Earth Plate because we don't fuk around. + A Bird Check is always nice.

amoonguss.gif

Amoonguss @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SpD 252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SpD
Bold Nature
- Spore
- Hidden Power [Fire] / Foul Play
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb / Clear Smog

Aaaaah, the last mon of the team. This thing is my only Azu counter and one of my only fairy switchins. (just having Heatran as a fairy counter would put a lot of pressure on it). The moveset is pretty standard, Spore for putting stuff to sleep, HP Fire for Scizor/Ferro, Sludge for fairies and Giga for water types. You might want to replace Sludge Bomb with Clear Smog, so that u can hit stuff like Chesnaught harder.

Mons that give this team problems :
094.png
Nothing on my team can switch into this monster. Wave + Ball + Focus Miss gives my team a lot of problems. The only thing I can do is hope for a miss :]]]]
652.png
Chesnaught walls this team to hell when Heatran is gone. Since Latios is scarf, Psyshock only does somewhere around 47%. Chesnaught can live a Draco from Lati, go for a Spiky Shield next turn on bop.
334-mega.png
This thing can easily sweep my team when Amoon is weakened. (DD Set with EQ) Watch out for this threat, don't let it setup on you!

Success with this team : Got reqs for Gren suspect (lol) and won an OU tour with it.

REPLAYS COMING SOON!

Hey there cool team I like all the defensive cores. Not much to say. Probably would go with either lefties or a Rocky Helmet on lando since I don't think a e-plate is all that good. same with bisharp would recommend switching to life orb, though that lum berry is good.

Once Amoongus is weaked , buky DD Mega Altaria sweep the team .
need a nice pok to handle Altaria to let Mega Gyara set up and sweep freely .

After reading these reviews of crap here's mine.

Scarf is a better choice on Lando-t than Earth plate. Scarf can out speed Latis(unlessed scarfed) ect.
Black glasses>Lum berry: Black glasses is like life orb for dark type moves but without the recoil. Lum Berry is not bad tho just recommending.
Thats all I have to say other wise its a fine team.

Hey man, thanks for your insight. I have Lum on Bisharp for Stallbreaker Mews and Rotom-Ws

Hey man niiice team you have got there has one of my favorite megas!
I will give you some tips to stop your threats.
Changing the Amoonguss set to a 252HP/136Def/120Spdef, thats going to not be 2HKO'ed by Gengar's Sludge Wave, another tip is using Choice Scarf Lando-T its a bait for Chesnaught, that will give you a free turn for your heatran, and out speed's gengar, dont worry about switching in at a gengar just worry about how your going to kill it, one last tip you can play around your threats with bisharp and Lando-T, thats not a big problem. And i think that Sub on Gyarados is better to not get stat used, and the EV's spread is not the best you will need as much raw power that you have, because +2 252Adamant OHKOS 88Def Ferrothorn, and Stall Breaker mew is not that big of a problem, because Lum Berry bisharp can set up on him.
I will leave the inportable after the changes.
Hopfully i helped you in this rate if you have any more threats of you have still the same, just PM me and i will help you.
