ORAS OU mega-gyarados off the ground

Thank you for taking a look at my team. I've been using it for a while as my go to OU team and i like to think i win more than i lose. i have unintentionally made this team with Pokemon that don't touch the ground a lot, sylveon being the only Pokemon not immune to ground attacks (hmm air balloon). more often than not my biggest threats are to ice and fire attacks mega-charizardY being my worst enemy. if you see any glaring weaknesses or have any suggestions i appreciate the input.

Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Roost
- Dragon Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Dragon Claw
Dragonite is a late game sweeper and most of the time my win condition. Once the rest of team has removed the enemy fairies and bulk, he'll switch in and set up a DD or two and sweep the rest of the enemy team. I don't know if I should give him lots of bulk to help him set up or if I should make him fast and powerful.

Gyarados-Mega @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Iron Head
I often lead with my mega he sets up that intimidate and can deal with a lot of common leads. Earthquake is awesome for dealing with lots of common threats. Crunch and iron head deal with some of my bigger threats like fairies and psychic types and stone edge deals with flyers though I get frustrated by its accuracy.

Talonflame @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Flare Blitz
- Swords Dance
talonflame is another sweeper roost keeps it alive when it's not up against a super effective foe but i often don't get the chance to use it as he dies easily gale wings making it priority helps. sword dance will quickly make talonflame unstoppable after just one use but again only if you get the chance to use it. brave bird and flare blitz always do a good chunk of damage without a buff and absolutely wreck many walls.

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 184 HP / 252 Atk / 72 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance
- U-turn
I recently switched in gliscor replacing metagross who wasn't preforming as well as I wanted. I haven't used him too much yet but I know from battling them they can be particularly troublesome and I have high expectations. I think he'll pair nicely with rotom for a volt switch U-turn combo. I think maybe I should give him stealth rock.

Sylveon @ Life Orb
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Wish
- Baton Pass
- Shadow Ball
I like to use an offensive sylveon to destroy dragons. syveons power catches a lot of opponents off guard who try to set up on sylveon expecting a cleric. Wish heals the team and shadow ball does great neutral damage to most enemies. Baton pass is their to make sure teammates get healed but I haven't decided if I absolutely need it or not.

Rotom-Wash @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Rest
- Will-O-Wisp
Rotom is my tank and my best answer to fire types. Volt switch is great for obvious reasons and can often deal good damage and set up a free switch in. will-o-wisp does great things against any physical threats. Hydro pump for the stab any fire response. Rest surprises opponents who put status conditions and spend lots of time reducing his health.

things i worry about
Entry hazards especially stealth rock which does decent damage to everything but Gyarados who loses flying after he goes mega.
fire type Pokemon particularly mega Charizard Y who will kill my water types with solar beam (often i'm forced to use Dragonite early to deal with him)
Ice type attacks, I've been swept by an enemy dragonite spamming ice punch more than once. Talonflame who would be my best response is too fragile to deal with it.

Nice Team.

Sylveon, Try Running Leftovers and Protect. Shadow Ball can be replaced but not neccasary its not good on a melo switch but it still works. it kills a few mons and can 2HKO some of Sylveons threats

472.gif
Gliscor, Maybe you can switch U-Turn with Protect giving Gliscor a hp gain. Other than that Gliscor's Solid

149.gif
Dragonite, Try Running Weakness Policy it get rids of the 1 turn status but its worth it. Upon Dragonite Put in and or switched in against an ice type and hit with an ice move weakness policy activates and Multi Scale takes away most of the Damage that could OHKO. Try Running Fire Punch over Roost While Dragonite Dies over time it gives it the ability to hit ice types with a powerful move back right after the weakness policy + multi scale giving it a free kill against the ice + steel + grass types, Such as |

Weavile is a major threat to Dragonite by having a variety of Ice type moves and Ice Shard which primarily goes first

Magnezone Is a threat because its a carrier of some of the most powerful electric type moves

Mega Venu is just a big threat by tanking some of the most powerful Fire Moves, By Running Fire Punch at 2x Atk + 2x Spe You can do over half damage

Talonflame, You Should Try either Choice Scarf / Leftovers / Life Orb And if u run Choice Scarf u need another move over roost, id prefer another flying move or Fire Move, As Talonflame gets rid of threats with the casual roost set it wont kill of its threats scarf gives it the ability to outspeed most of its threats and kill them such as Magnezone and or any other electric mon. giving it an immunity to ground with the flying type but having a 4x weakness to rock makes it difficult to handle mons such as|

Not gonna explain the deals with those mons cuz you probs already know about those

Other than that the team is pretty Solid

Ik the Magne + Terrakion SPrites are big try to bear with it because i've tried all the sprites available

Heoy BearDaniels the team isn't that bad but some of your sets aren't good and you looks weak to Charizard Mega X , Mega Altaria , Mega Loppuny , Weavile , Mega Diancie etc. So first of all I'd suggest you to run the Standard Gyarados Set , your set isn't capable of filling any role , the set isn't good at all. Dragon Dance Gyarados is an awesome wincon and set up sweeper. Next I think Banded Dragonite > DD Dragonite in this team. As you really lacks a wall breaker , Dragonite can fill the slot , it can also used to late game clean and gives you a very powerful priority Mon to put pressure on Offensive teams and also an awesome revenge killer.

You lacks a rock setter and you have Dragonite and Talonflame with no hazard control which is bad. So I think
Garchomp > Gliscor , ye Gliscor is awesome , but Garchomp fills a lot of roles in your team , it can set rocks to put pressure on rock weak mons , Charizard Mega Y is also pressurized which is hard to deal for you as you mentioned. It is also a good phazer and can counter Mega Metagross , Non Ice Punch Mega Loppuny and Bisharp. You also looks weak to rocks , so I think Lati@s > Talonflame, Lati@s can defog and also switch into Electrics which posses a threat to your team. Latis also helps you against Venusaur that Talonflame does.

At last I think of a couple of changes , that is
Unaware Clefable > Sylveon and Slowbro > Rotom-w . Unaware Clefable helps you against Weavile , Mega Altaria etc. Calm Mind Unaware Clefable is also one of the best wincon in the game. While Slowbro counters a lot of stuffs like Mega Charizard X , Birdspam , Rain , Sand , Non Grass Knot Mega Metagross , Mega Altaria. It also serve as a Scald Switch-in.

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
BiNature
IVs: 0 Atk / 14 Spe
- Calm Mind
- Soft-Boiled
- Thunder Wave/Flamethrower
- Moonblast
Dragonite @ Choice Band
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake / Superpower
- Extreme Speed
- Fire Punch / Ice Punch

Gyarados-Mega @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Crunch
- Waterfall
- Taunt

Grachomp @ Rocky helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Dragon Tail
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast

Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Recover / Hidden Power Fire
- Defog

or

Latias @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Recover / Healing Wish
- Defog

Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Slack Off
- Thunder Wave

Taunt on Mega Gyarados helps you break stall which is a problem to your team. Speed IVs on Clefable is OPTIONAL it lets you out stall Ferrothorn's Gyro Ball.

Hope I helped :]......

Hi there nice team but a few changes i would like to suggest,
Your gyarados set is very inefficient and doesn't do much. Gyarados is a great WinCon and Dragon Dance allows for that to happen. so change the set to this-
gyarados-mega.gif

Gyarados-Mega @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Crunch
- Waterfall
- Substitute/Taunt

You have a Giant weakness to Mega Charizard X and mega altaria using Rotom and in zards cade sylveon as setup bait.Mega lopunny and bird spam does considerable damage to you as well.So i suggest you change rotom to slowbro with thunderwave. This helps t-wave all the fast sweeper that thretean you.
Set-(I dont why this sprite moves so much when slowbro doesn't move at all?!?)
slowbro-3.gif

Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Flamethrower/Ice Beam
- Slack Off
- Thunder Wave

Also sylveon might want to run leftovers with a more cleric like set-

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Wish
- Baton Pass/Protect
- Heal bell

this helps u help two of your physical sweeper with heal bell and wish

You lack hazard removal and rocks breaking dragonites multiscale and gyarados takes a lot of damage from switching into them so changing Talonflame to Latias will be helpful and takes pressure of sylveon from taking repeated hit from fast electric types raikou and mega manectric.
SET-
latias.gif

Latias @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Roost
- Defog

And For your Zard y weakness running Garchomp >>>>gliscor handle that weakness
SET-
garchomp-2.gif

Grachomp @ Rocky helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Dragon Tail
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast/Stone edge

Lastly conkeldurr over DD dragonite allows u to have a powerful physical attaker and answer to weavile.
conkeldurr.gif

Conkeldurr @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guts
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
-Knock Off
-Drain Punch
-Ice Punch
-Mach Punch

HOPE I HELPED! HAVE A NICE DAY!!!!

thanks guys i've heard basically the same suggestions from a couple of you so i'm sure its good advice. ill try your suggestions and see if i can climb the ladder a little faster.

hey I am back , I realised my changes made you weak to Serperior , so I think Heatran > Tankchomp as it helps you against Serperior and fairies. Also Slowbro + Heatran is a nice defensive core.
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 192 SpD / 68 Spe
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Toxic / Flash Cannon
- Taunt / Protect / Roar / Flash Cannon
- Stealth Rock

or

Heatran @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast / Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Flash Cannon
- Stealth Rock

I'd suggest you to add flash cannon in the sets as it helps against fairies , hope i helped :]
