Team Building Process:
I wanted to make a team with zapdos + mega gyarados.
Together they have a pretty good defensive synergy, but they share a rock weakness, and I needed a stealth rock setter, so I added ferrothorn.
Looking at the team now I was pretty weak to keldeo who could hydro pump zapdos, and secret sword gyarados after it megas, and secret sword ferro.
I decided to add latias and azumarill to the team. Latias can counter it pretty well if it doesnt have icy wind, but if it does azumarill can handle it. Latias is probably replaceable on this team, but I have no idea what to put in. I feel like Healing Wish is very useful on it though.
The last slot on my team I decided to add heatran. I can't find anything to fit better in this spot, but i know it can be used better.
Any ratings and tips are appreciated, and I would like to find a good replacement for heatran and Latias if you think there is a better use of this spot, although I feel like latias fits decently on the team.

zapdos.png

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Discharge
- Heat Wave
- Roost
- Defog
I wanted to make a team based around zapdos + mega gyarados. The reason for this is that zapdos is a pretty underrated wall. and gyarados is an underrated sweeper. I went with the standard defog zapdos, but I have considered changing latias to use defog to make room for hp ice to cover landorus, gliscor, and thundurus. Discharge over tbolt for the extra parlyze chance.
ferrothorn.png

Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Leech Seed
- Stealth Rock
- Gyro Ball
- Protect
This thing covers pretty much everything gyarados has trouble with (before it megas). It is my stealth rock setter and can annoy people with leech seed. Not really much to say about it. I feel like protect is better than power whip to scout for random HP Fire's and get extra leech seed damage since i opted for iron barbs over leftovers.
gyarados-mega.png

Gyarados @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
I believe this is the standard mega gyarados set? Not sure but it seems to work pretty well if i can set up, which is pretty easy to do with him. Waterfall for STAB, Earthquake for strong damage and coverage, and Mold Breaker Ice Fang to kill thick fat Venu. I'm not sure if I should be running adamant or jolly. It has a lot of trouble with opposing ferro's and I have considered fitting magnezone in somewhere.
latias.png

Latias @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Serious Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psychic
- Healing Wish
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
Not sure about this set. Idk if life orb would be better. HP Fighting to beat bisharps who try to switch in, draco meteor to hit stuff hard, and psychic for STAB. I chose psychic over psyshock because psyshock has less damage and still doesn't kill chansey.
heatran.png

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Toxic
- Taunt
- Roar
SpDef phazer heatran. Ferro and Zapdos make a pretty good physically defensive core, and latias, heatra, and AV Azumarill make up the specially defensive side. I chose lava plume over fire blast to get lucky burns on things and it comes in handy quite often.
azumarill.png

Azumarill @ Assault Vest
Ability: Huge Power
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 232 HP / 252 Atk / 24 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Superpower
I could not choose between AV or CB Azumarill and AV won because i felt like i was weak to keldeo without it. I chose superpower over knock off since the team kind of struggles to kill ferrothorn, who all i have for him is heatran and he can be worn down pretty easily without wish support and no reliable healing.

I feel like this team is missing something, but im not sure what. It has a pretty big weakness to thundurus and a couple other threats who have seemed to escape my mind while I'm writing this.
I also lack a few coverage moves, such as Ice and grass that would help a lot.
I am a pretty good player who can predict well, but I honestly suck at teambuilding, and I'm tired of stealing teams :P please help!

Replace thick fat with hp on azumarill, thick fat makes it utterly useless. Id replace ice fang with sub on gyarados, allowing you to sub on forced switches, making you immune to status and intimidate. also, put balloon on heatran for charizard x and some zard ys.

Hi really nice team you've got there. This is very solid, I cannot really see major issues with the team tbh. Gratz on the final product!

You mentioned replacing Latias and Heatran, but I disagree. Latias is your team's answer to Charizard Y and also Rotom-W, since Ferro will not appreciate a burn. It is also a safer switch-in to Keldeo as once again, Azumarill will not be liking a burn at all. Heatran on the other hand is your team's answer to Talonflame, as after an SD, even Zapdos will not be liking taking Flare Blitzs in the face. The dual steel core with Ferro+Tran is also very solid, so I recommend keeping both Tran and Latias (I recommend Latios instead however, read below).

The only problem I see your team facing is against Mega Zard X. At +1, it easily rampages through your team if Azumarill gets weakened. Zapdos can take one hit and potentially paralyse it with Discharge, but thats about it. In a worse case scenario, your last option would be recoil + iron barbs + rocky helmet on Ferro to get off a huge chunk, then revenge with Azu after.

I also have some slight EV changes to propose :]

1. Zapdos
I get that Zapdos is your team's answer to Mega Pinsir, and also Defog support. However, replacing Zapdos with Thundurus will patch out a lot more holes for your team. Thundurus, with his priority TWave, can easily cripple Mega Zard X even if it decides to set up. This will open up an opportunity for it to be revenge killed, and obviously prevent you from getting swept. This will solve your Zard X issue. I'm going with a mixed SPower Thundy to be able to hit TTar, Ferro and Heatran hard with Superpower.
Thundurus (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 28 Atk / 228 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Thunderbolt
- Superpower
- Hidden Power [Ice]

2. Latias
Now obviously with Zapdos gone, you need a new Defogger. Latias can now be your new defogger, replacing Hp Fighting for Defog. Looking at your team, Latias is your only way to hit Mega Venusaur hard. However, Latias is a little too weak in my opinion, as even a Life Orb Psyshock will only be doing 50-60% percent to Mega Venusaur, and it could easily outstall you with Leech Seed + Synthesis.

Calc: 252 SpA Life Orb Latias Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mega Venusaur: 190-226 (52.1 - 62%) -- Guaranteed 2HKO

Therefore, I recommend swapping Latias for Defog Latios. The EV Spread below allows Latios to take on Zard Y and Landorus-I better with the increased SpDef bulk, and most importantly, it easily 2HKOs PhyDef Mega Venusaur after Leech Seed, preventing it from outstalling you. Roost is very important, since it allows Latios to roost off the LO damage, thus enabling it to constantly switch into the likes of Keldeo and Zard Y. Latios' Psyshock also 2HKOs Mega Gardevoir after rocks, something that Latias cannot do. Mega Gard could be very problematic for your team since Ferro/Tran will not be liking Focus Blast, whereas AV Azumarill gets 2HKOed by Hyper Voice (yeah, its that powerful).

Calc: 252+ SpA Pixilate Mega Gardevoir Hyper Voice vs. 232 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Azumarill: 202-238 (50.6 - 59.6%) -- Guaranteed 2HKO

Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 32 HP / 184 SpA / 40 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Roost
- Defog

3. Heatran
Taunt is a very good option on Heatran, as it allows Tran to shut down Mandibuzz and Mega Venusaur. However, I find it kinda weird that you aren't running enough speed to outpace those said mons. Run 28 Speed EVs to outspeed Mandi, preventing it from Defogging / Taunting you. Also, I recommend swapping Toxic for Earth Power. You team does not have a reliable switch in to opposing Heatrans. Azumarill will not be liking a Burn, whereas Lat@s cannot do anything back to Tran. EP allows you to switch into opposing Trans, and threaten them with EP. With Taunt it also prevents opposing Trans from setting up rocks.
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 244 HP / 236 SpD / 28 Spe
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Earth Power
- Taunt
- Roar

That should be everything. Hope you benefited from this, cheers!
