ORAS OU Mega Lopunny offense

Hey! I made an other team a couple of days ago, and I decided to post it here. I used mostly heavy hitting mons with powerful attacks, and I find it a pretty decent team, but there's always something to improve, so here it is.

Lopunny @ Lopunnite
Ability: Limber
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Return
- High Jump Kick
- Healing Wish
- Substitute

My main sweeper, I use it mostly mid- or late game. It has an (in my opinion) average EV-spread with maximized Attack and Speed, the rest put into Defense. Return and High Jump Kick are its most powerful STAB moves, the latter of which can hit Mega Sableye super effectively. Healing Wish is for supporting other team members, mainly Volcarona or Hydreigon which are easy to wear down. Substitute is to avoid status, but I never used it, so maybe I should change it to Fake Out or Ice Punch. Since M-Lopunny is already really fast, Ice Punch would be a better option, to deal with annoying flying types not named Talonflame.

volcarona.gif

Volcarona @ Lum Berry
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 72 HP / 252 SpA / 184 Spe
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Fire Blast
- Bug Buzz
- Giga Drain

Volcarona is my other main sweeper - sadly I can't really use it at its fullest potential at the lower ladder, since M-Lopunny mostly manages to KO everything. Lum Berry is my item of choice to avoid Toxic, paralysis or sleep. My plan was to switch it in late game, when its checks and counters are already eliminated, set up as many Quiver Dances as possible, than sweep, but it actually never happened yet, since I either couldn't set up, or didn't have to. Sometimes I also use it mid-game if it can KO something without a boost.

hydreigon.gif

Hydreigon @ Life Orb/Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Mild Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Flash Cannon
- Superpower

Hydreigon is a powerful wall breaker with Life Orb. Draco Meteor and Dark Pulse are its obvious STAB moves, and I decided to run Flash Cannon to deal with slower fairies except from Azumarill. Superpower is to hit Steel types hard, since it also has a decent Attack stat. I'm not sure about Life Orb, however, maybe I should switch it to Choice Scarf to get a powerful revenge killer, but then I would lost the opportunity to switch to Flash Cannon, when a fairy type comes in.

Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Rapid Spin

Because of Volcarona I needed a hazard remover. I wanted to keep the team more offensive, so I chose Starmie - they also have good type sinergy. Since Starmie is really frail, I try to keep it off the battle if it's possible, at least until the opponents hazard setter is alive. It has a standard moveset I think, with Hydro Pump for powerful, but somewhat unreliable STAB, BoltBeam coverage and Rapid Spin.

landorus-therian.gif

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 8 SpD / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge

I also needed a hazard setter, and I decided to use Landorus-Therian, since it rarely let me down. It's the only mon on my team that runs a more defensive set, because I don't have a spinblocker or Defiant user, so it might have to do its job multiple times in a battle. Anyway I found, that it hits pretty hard even without attacking investment. Stone Edge can OHKO Talonflame, and Earthquake is its most powerful STAB. I might change U_turn to Knock Off, but I can't decide since both are really good moves, and I don't wanna lose the other three.

scizor.gif

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Bug Bite
- Superpower
- Pursuit

Scizor is my main check to fairies and dragons. Technician boosted Bullet Punch makes it an amazing revenge killer and a nightmare to fairies. I chose to run Bug Bite over U-turn because of the boost it gets from Technician. Superpower helps to deal with steel types. With Pursuit I can trap psychic and ghost types, which comes in handy since Aegislash is back for the suspect tests.

Here is also a replay, to see how the team works.

I suggest changing Superpower to Earth Power on hydreigon. Also hits steel and rock types super effectively. And you can now use a nature that does not lower your defenses.

For Landorus, add 48 Speed EVs in order to outpace opposing Rotom-Ws and other Landorus'. I suggest dropping Scizor for Ferrothorn which can setup spikes and provide leech seed support while checking fairies and Lati twins more efficiently than scizor.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
Impish Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Thunder Wave

Having both spikes and rocks on the field is fantastic for Lopunny. They weaken it's checks/counters and provides an easy late game clean-up for it. Also ferrothorn forms a fantastic core with Landorus, Starmie and Lopunny. Thunder Wave will help stop sweepers such as Mega Altaria.

Hi there, nice offensive team there however I've some suggestions so as to make the team a lot better while still keeping close to the team's concept. :]
Firstly, instead of changing Superpower to Earthpower as mentioned above by kt3, do keep Superpower as it helps heat Tyranitar and Heatran along with along Steel types relatively well since they are mostly more Specially Defensive.
Secondly, it is to actually shift the 4HP EVs on Starmie to Defense or Special Defense so as to keep your HP at an odd number which lets you take lesser from Stealth Rock. You can even make the HP IV on Starmie to 29 so as to get a HP ending with a 9, which allows you take the least Life Orb recoil as it is a Life Orb number.
Thirdly, it is to use U-turn on Scizor instead of Bug Bite so as to allow you to preserve as much momentum as possible with that offensive team you have as you force switches with it.
Lastly, I might recommend a Passho Berry on Volcarona so as to take on a Water type hit (usually from things like Choice Scarfed Keldeo) and get up a Quiver Dance before killing it with Giga Drain as I don't see Lum Berry coming into play as often.

For Landorus, add 48 Speed EVs in order to outpace opposing Rotom-Ws and other Landorus'. I suggest dropping Scizor for Ferrothorn which can setup spikes and provide leech seed support while checking fairies and Lati twins more efficiently than scizor.

Using Ferrothorn doesn't really solve the issue of Ferrothorn since M-Altaria and Clefable (the most common fairies) can pack Fire Blast and defensive Clefable can just stall it out of Gyro Ball. Also, there is no need for 48EVs for speed on Landorus-T to outspeed Rotom-W, you generally want as little speed as possible to give you a slow U-turn so as to give you a switch advantage over opposing Landorus-T.

Hi cool team there but I would have scizor have U-Turn to be safe from magnezone. Make Starmie have Analytic to do more damage when slower which is helpful with predicting the opponents switch ins. I would also have Psychock on Starmie for its STAB typing and for fighting types. Yeah Change sub on Lopunny to fake out to deal damage while being safe to mega. Hope I helped :]

I disagree with Psyshock > Thunderbolt. This team has issues with Water-types, Mega Gyarados and Azumarill in particular, and Thunderbolt is highly important to be able to pressure these Pokemon. While Psyshock does help against Keldeo, this team has no insurance against other offensive Water-types, and being able to pressure these Pokemon is important. I agree with everything else though.
