Hey everybody, its been a little while since I've made a new RMT, and this new team I made has been really good so I figured I should do one for it. I had never used Mega Mawile so I decided to build a team around it and it has turned out great so far.
Team Building Process -
Team -
Mawile @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 132 HP / 252 Atk / 124 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Play Rough
- Fire Fang
Mega Mawile has been amazing for me, I can't believe I haven't used it before! I usually like to use her early game to weaken my opponents team so it is easier for my other pokes like dragonite and t-flame to sweep later, although I will usually switch her out when she is at low HP to save for either death fodder or if I get a chance to use healing wish with latias. Her bulk+typing+pre mega evo intimidate allows me to find plenty of opportunities to set up and even not set up, not much is gonna appreciate attacks coming from the highest attack stat in the game. Sucker punch is amazing and pretty much KO's everything that doesn't resist or is a physical wall at +2, play rough is an incredibly powerful STAB move, and fire fang can easily take out steel types that my opponents really Luke to switch in for some odd reason (can't even count the amount of times people have switched ferrothorns or scizors in on mawile only to get out sped and ohko'd the next turn)
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 216 Def / 40 SDef
Impish Nature
- Protect
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Stealth Rock
Ferrothorn is my defensive wall and a reliable way to stop mega gyarados, mega ttar, and many other threats, while having good synergy with the rest of the team. Leech seed+protect+lefties makes it incredibly hard to take down as well. Stealth rocks because, well you need rocks, and powerwhip is a powerful move that can do respectable damage to a lot of things.
Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Ability: Multiscale
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Extreme Speed
Dragonite has been soooo good for this team, outrage is incredibly powerful even without setting up. Dragonite is usually used late game to pick off weakened threats with e-speed, or set up on something that can't touch it and sweep with outrage+eq. I have been considering trying out banded dragonite in his place however because the immediate power would be nice in certain circumstances although it can absorb status while attacking/setting up because it won't have lum. I will probably try it out and see how it does with this team sometime soon though.
Thundurus (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Thunder Wave
- Taunt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
I originally had greninja here but his coverage was pretty redundant with my other pokes and I had trouble with +1+1 zard x so I switched to thundurus with its amazing priority t-wave. Taunt helps a lot against stall Mons as well who I had a little bit of trouble with before. Thunderbolt is a powerful, reliable STAB move and HP ice hits chomp, dragonite, landorus, gliscor, etc for a ton of damage, ohkoing all of those except dragonite unless its multiscale is down. I also have leftovers over life orb to increase his longevity.
Latias (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Defog
- Healing Wish
Latias works really well on this team as the defogger, she can take more hits than her brother and still hits plenty hard with life orb boosted STABs. Healing wish is the most amazing move when latias is at low health or I know the opponent can KO me, and it allows me to bring back either Mawile, dragonite, or another poke that has either been crippled by status or brought down to low health. Draco and psyshock are good STABs that hit hard with life orb.
Talonflame @ Choice Band
Ability: Gale Wings
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- Tailwind
- U-turn
Talonflame is my designated revenge killer. I try and save it for late game until its counters have been removed or weakened. Its choice banded priority brave bird ohkos soooo many things and flare blitz is a great secondary STAB. Tailwind is useful for setting up its teammates to come in and sweep when I know it cant do much with its other attacks and will get ko'd and u-turn is useful for using on predicted switches to gain momentum.
Well there is my team, if you find anyway to make it better please let me know. I got into the mid 1600s back when I had greninja over thundurus before going on tilt and falling down to around 1480, I will try and ladder back up with this and see if I can go higher.
