Hi I am a new player looking for some help in building my first team. I am trying to make an offensive OU team to use for wifi battles.
Smeargle @ Focus Sash
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Sticky Web
- Stealth Rock
- Spore
- Nuzzle
Smeargle will be used as a suicide lead. I wanted a sticky web user because I feel Mega Medicham can use a bit more speed. The move i'm not so sure about is nuzzle. I feel like I haven't had much use for it but I don't know what to replace it with.
Medicham @ Medichamite
Ability: Pure Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Ice Punch
- Fake Out
- Zen Headbutt
I picked Mega Medicham because I wanted a wallbreaker with priority and ice coverage. I am not sure about using fake out in this set. Other moves I am considering are bullet punch for priority and thunder punch.
Gengar @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Wave
- Focus Blast
- Taunt
Gengar is my spin blocker and answer to fairies. I wanted a spin blocker because I feel keeping sticky web and stealth rocks up is important for this team. I chose Gengar because it not only does well against many rapid spin users but also provides good additional offensive coverage.
Volcanion @ Power Herb
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 Def
- Steam Eruption
- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Volcanion is my answers to water types. It not only blocks attacks like scald but also can hit water types in return with solar beam. I picked hp ice as the last move so it can deal with dragon switch ins.
Landorus-Therian @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off
- U-turn
Landorus is my check for Talonflame and Charizard. Since Medicham is weak against Talonflame, I wanted a reliable switch in. I decided to go with the choice scarf set because it allows me the revenge kill Charizard y.
Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Moonlight
- Toxic
This is my wall and answer to set up sweepers. I choose toxic as the fourth move because it allows me to use Clefable as a stall breaker.
