After watching pokeaimMD's christmas special, I had realized that i wanted to make my own team with Mega Abomasnow. After playing a bunch of matches and changing some stuff around, i finally finished and decided to post my first RMT!

Abomasnow @
Dream_Abomasite_Sprite.png

Ability: Snow Warning
Nature: Lonely
EVs: 248 HP / 76+ Atk /184 SpA
Moves: Blizzard | Giga Drain | Earthquake | Ice Shard

After noticing that Abomasnow seemed to be a magnet for endless will-o-wisps and scald burns, on top of its special attacks not hitting nearly as hard as they should have been, i decided to go for a more mixed variant. This Mega Abomasnow is almost always a sure-fire Landorus-T killer. It can live any of its moves (that aren't superpower) and proceed to K.O. with a 100% accuracy Blizzard. If the opponent has a Landorus, I pretty much always lead with Mr. President. It also has giga drain for stab and Rotom-w, Earthquake for coverage and Heatran switch-ins, and Ice Shard for revenge kills.

Manaphy @

Ability: Hydration
Nature: Modest
EVs: 252 SpA+ / 4 SpDef / 252 Spe
Moves: Tail Glow | Scald | Energy Ball | Ice Beam

Dear lord this fucking monster lol. I also like sending Manaphy in on Landorus first turn. They pretty much always switch, either letting you get off a tail glow or a nice burn. Manaphy tends to work well against pokemon such as Landorus-t, Heatran, and others. After a Tail Glow it becomes IMMENSELY threatening. Manaphy can also help against breaking stall. I managed to get to +6 on a Chansey that tried to stall me out. After getting the burn, it managed to 2HKO it. Definitely wish I saved that replay.

Heatran @

Ability: Flash Fire
Nature: Calm
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpDef+
Moves: Ancient Power / Stealth Rock / Toxic / Lava Plume

Standard special Heatran set. Not only does this check the living shit outta talonflame, AND set my rocks up, it has the honor of being my special tank. Things like Mega Manetric, Latios (who runs EQ?), and Tornadus-T can't really touch this man. His shining moment was when a Volcarona tried to set up on it, only to realize that defeat was inevitable. It can also check Kyurem-B if it isn't running earth power.

Landorus-Therian @
choice-scarf.png

Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpDef / 252 Spe
Moves: Knock Off / Earthquake / Stone Edge / Explosion

Standard Lando-t setup. The purpose of Landorus on this team is to mostly deal with speedy threats like Lopunny and Manetric, while also knocking off items from other threats like Scarf Latios. Im thinking of switching Explosion for U-turn because there aren't many opportunities for Landorus to explode. I pretty much always need it. U-turn however will help with keeping momentum and allow Landorus to switch out while also getting off some damage.

Sylveon @
choice-specs.png

Ability: Pixilate
Nature: Modest
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA
Moves: Hyper Voice / Shadow Ball / Hidden Power Fire / Psyshock

Specs Sylveon hits like a goddam truck I swear! Sylveon with specs can live an attack from any Latios, Scarf Landorus, Kyurem-Black, Tyranitar, Keldeo, and others. Pokemon that are weak to Fairy in general just fall to Sylveon. Hidden Power Fire is mostly for getting off big damage on steel types like Ferrothorn, Magnezone, Skarmory, and Scizor on the switch-in. Psyshock is mostly for Mega Venusaur and Tentacruel, while Shadow Ball is mostly for coverage, being able to hit Jirachi and Metagross harder then HP Fire.

Skarmory @
leftovers.png

Ability: Sturdy
Nature: Imprish
EVs: 252 HP / 232+ Def / 24 Spe
Moves: Brave Bird / Roost / Whirlwind (or Spikes) / Defog

Standard Skarmory set is what I used for my physical tank. Really big threats to my team such as Mega Lopunny, Azumarill, Mega Pinsir, Scizor, Breloom, and other Physical attackers all can't touch Skarmory. Azumarill becomes a threat after a Belly Drum but Skarmory can still defeat it. Mega Lopunny is also a threat but Brave Bird is always an OHKO if Spikes are on the field. I have ran Spikes and Whirlwind and I think it just comes down to personal preference. Skarmory gets utterly destroyed by Magnezone however. If it feels like Skarmory just got a free switch-in, and the opponent has a Magnezone, PLEASE double out. Skarmory WILL get destroyed.

Threats:

647-resolution.png
: Keldeo is a HUGE threat to this team. Sylveon is pretty much hard counters it, and manaphy MAY be able to counter it. Fortunately if the Keldeo is running specs then Landorus can revenge kill it after the Keldeo takes some damage, and the Scarf set doesnt hit hard enough to threaten Sylveon or Manaphy. Deducing its set is half the battle on Keldeo. Abomasnow, Heatran, and Skarmory just get ended though :(

006-mega-x.png
: Ah, this man just seems to threaten ALL of my builds doesn't it? Anyway, Mega Charizard X is a pretty big threat to this team too. After a +1, the only pokemon that can really handle it. And even then, Charizard still outspeeds (who runs Adamant?) though intimidate would probably help with that. Manaphy can also try to clutch out a Scald and try to finish it off. Abomasnow might have to ice shard it. Beating Charizard X is definitely a team effort.

As far as type match-ups and covering weaknesses go, I think this is some of my best work. I managed to build a team that can cover many of the types. But I need others to critique this team and point out its flaws to make it much better. (not taking off obama tho)

Hi pretty interesting team you have here. A suggestion I have is to replace Skarmory with Thunderbolt Starmie
121.png
. This gives you a check to Keldeo, as well as provide the same hazard control that Skarmory provides. It also gives you an additional check to opposing Manaphy, which can be an issue. You will have more issues switching this in, but you have Landorus-T's intimidate which really helps with a lot of physical attackers (could get a bit overloaded, but you normally don't try to give opposing teams so many free switches).

I would also run a Timid nature on Manaphy, tying with opposing Manaphy, Mega Medicham, and outspeeding Mega Gardevoir, all of which are very useful benchmarks to hit. An alternative coverage move over Ice Beam is Hidden Power Fire, which lets you hit Scizor and Ferrothorn to help Mega Abomasnow. I would also run offensive SR Heatran. Your team appreciates the offensive presence more than its defensive utility, as you wish to have Mega Abomasnow clean up with priority after weakening teams, which offensive does better. U-Turn on Landorus-T. If I recall, Sylveon tends to run a little bit of speed for uninvested Tyranitar, but that set is essentially non-existent so it does not matter much.

Yeah, was definitely looking into U-turn for Landorus-Therian, and Starmie is an interesting choice. Your saying i should take a more offensive role with this team as opposed to bulky defensive mons?

Hello,

Lets start off by saying you arent weak to zard x with a lando and a heatran lol. Onto the rate, cool team btw,

1. I believe your team can benefit from the momentum that baton pass sylveon can have instead of shadow ball that doesnt give you any really needed coverage that hp fire can't. By adding baton pass you can switch into landorus or starmie on the heatran/talonflame check that will come in on sylveon
2. Skarmory is a nice defensive mon yes, but in your teams case I believe you could get more benefit from running Starmie as a spinner and a keldeo check. Starmie can still check belly drum azumarill and with thunderbolt help out vs manaphy and band azu while still beating keldeo.
3. hp rock over ancient power on tran probably the most debatable change but i like hp rock as it allows you to beat a talon that attempts to pp stall hp rock and it still does good damage to zard y and talon.
