Hello, guys!
The following team is a pretty fun not at all standard team I made a while ago, and it's a strange team. It easily wins or loses, honestly, cause it relies a lot on leading correctly and also a on a little predicting. It is based on keeping hazards away and set with either volc or sharp, with some nice offensive presence provided by starmie and kyurem-B, and sableye and shuckle providing nice support and taking hits when needed.
Anyway, I'd like to have a little feedback on it, so thank you all in advance.
Sableye @ Sablenite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 80 Def / 180 SpD
Impish Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Metal Burst/Foul Play
- Recover
- Knock Off
First of, comes M-Sableye, which is a very good lead against HO, countering some common leads such as defensive chomp and lando-T, Azelf and Terrakion. Standard set, will-o for offensive threats, knock off and recover are mandatory, and I like to run Metal Burst, though Foul Play is also quite good and requires less prediction. Sableye also serves as a spin blocker.
Volcarona @ Lum Berry
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 96 HP / 252 SpA / 160 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Fiery Dance
- Giga Drain
- Bug Buzz
Next, comes this crazy set up sweeper. I like running Lum berry due to all those skillful players that just spam t-wave. Enough speed to beat excadrill, Quiver Dance for setting up, STAB fiery dance and bug buzz and Giga Drain, cause I fell that's all in all better than HP ground to hit Heatran. That recover is useful most of the times, and is nice to beat Rotom-W, Keldeo and Diancie after quivering. I also feel like fiery dance has more use than fire blast, cause it's strong, hax that nice 505 to raise spA and is more reliable, imo.
Bisharp @ Focus Sash
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
- Swords Dance
My other sweeper is Bisharp. since the main goal is to keep away hazards to set up, i run Sharp with Sash and SD on whatever thing that tries to beat it. And we all know +2 Bisharp is a god. In that sense, I run the usual knock off-iron head-sucker punch set. The other main reason to use bisharp is to predict a defog and go from there. This is my counter to clef: SD on the fire blast, hope i don't get burned and retaliate.
Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
Good old Starmie comes next, hitting really hard pretty much all switch ins. Ice beam for dragons and serperior, t-bolt mainly for skarmory and zard-Y (I also have seem some vaporeons), scald for that nice chance to burn, hitting things in general. Starmie also cleans the field on my side in case, for some reason, they manage to get there.
Kyurem-Black @ Life Orb
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 56 Atk / 252 SpA / 200 Spe
Rash Nature
- Roost
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power
- Fusion Bolt
Kyurem-B is the next mon, with crazy offensive presence. This, along Starmie, is my counter to heatran, Zard and fire stuff in general. Fusion bolt is to hit Azu, ice beam to hit... well, stuff, as it's a nice cover move, really strong STAB that OHKOs Dragonites (most run Adamant anyway). Roost is to keep the offensive presence longer and earth power is to hit heatran, exca, rotom, raikou and manectric.
Shuckle @ Mental Herb
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 148 Def / 108 SpD
Careful Nature
- Sticky Web
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Infestation
Last, comes this guy, which you don't see much in OU. Freaking annoying shuckle, my hazard setter and often my lead, if I see zard or talon on the opponent's team. I believe there is not much to say about it. Toxic the chomp or whatever, set up rocks, watch out for sharp or serp on the other side and throw that nice sticky web: it is really helpful.
Threat lists:
I believe most threats are fire types, since sableye can't do much about them, such as talon, heatran and zard. Lead taunt Will-o SD talon is GG, honestly. TTar is often hard to take down, though not really a threat. Besides that, I think the team is pretty cool. Let me know your thoughts and advices!
