Mega Sceptile/Scarf Delphox Team!

Hello and welcome to my 3rd RMT!
I am here with my 3rd Rate My Team around "Mega Sceptile and Delphox"
I am very new to RU and me and my friend (Lotad Is Beast) took a while making this team. I have tested it and it is working pretty well. It is a balanced team that has Hitmontop and Golbat as walls, Sceptile as a sweeper, Eelektross and Doublade as physical attackers and Delphox as a scarfer. Hope you leave a rating and hence that I am Very new to RU so don't hesitate to criticize. Enjoy :^)

BELIEVE (Delphox) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Switcheroo
- Fire Blast
- Psyshock
- Grass Knot

This pokemon is my choice scarfer and revenge killer for this team. I chose to build the team around because it can outspeed many threats and can revenge kill fast pokes like Jolteon. Most of the attacks are to just deal pure damage to rough steel and poison opponents like Cobalion, Doublade, Excavalier (Fire Blast), and Golbat (Psyshock). Grass knot is my coverage move to hit pokemon like Rhyperior that switch in. Modest nature helps me do more damage to switch in opponents so I went with that over timid, since I don't often remove my scarf anyway. Blaze is a great ability if you know you can switch in and take a hit.

doublade.gif

HYL1AN4L143 (Doublade) @ Eviolite
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Gyro Ball
- Shadow Sneak
- Swords Dance
- Sacred Sword

This pokemon is a bulky setup physical attacker for the team. I chose it because it is able to switch into attacks that Delphox can't handle. The main move of the set is Swords Dance which allows me to take a hit, set up and dish out a Gyro Ball. Its Max HP Max Atk to do as much damage as possible and at the same time eat as many attacks as possible. Brave 0Speed is obvious, to boost the power of Gyro Ball. Sacred Sword is for normal coverage, like Ambipoms that like to switch into Shadow Sneaks and get a knock off off. Shadow Sneak is mainly for STAB priority.

hitmontop.gif

SUSHI (Hitmontop) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Close Combat
- Fake Out
- Toxic

Hitmontop is the physical wall for this team. I chose this pokemon because it can also rapid spin away rocks, which Delphox hates as it is a Fire type. Not only that but it resists Dark and Rock which are 2 of Delphox's weaknesses. Max HP Max Defense to easily take those hits with an Impish Nature. Close Combat to do little bits of chip damage. Later on I have golbat which also has toxic so I can use fake out to stall the toxic for damage. Toxic is used for the same thing, to get of bits of toxic damage and to fake out later on. Leftovers is the only recovery I have on this pokemon so I have to avoid Knock Offs. Intimidate helps my team even more by switching into Sharpedo, a big threat, and stopping it from sweeping.

eelektross.gif

TH3SH0CK1NG (Eelektross) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpA
Brave Nature
- Volt Switch
- Drain Punch
- Wild Charge
- Knock Off

This pokemon is another bulky physical attacker, but this time it is more bulky on the special side due to the Assault Vest. I chose this pokemon because it stops a big weakness to my team AKA Fletchinder. I run a Brave nature so that I can put as much as I can into the Physical and the Special side. I run Max in both Atk and HP to attack the same as defense. I run Volt Switch for switch initiative (Which is the only initiative I have on my team) and Drain Punch for bits of recovery. Wild Charge is my main attacking move and it works well with Drain Punch for I can recover the HP that I lose. Knock Off has no need of explaining except it is Dark coverage for things like Cofagrigus.

golbat.gif

THE DR34M? (Golbat) @ Eviolite
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Toxic
- Roost
- Brave Bird
- Super Fang

This pokemon is the Specially Defensive wall on the team. I chose this pokemon because Delphox covers many of its weaknesses that may try to take it out. Even without any Speed investments, surprisingly, it outspeeds other walls and can Toxic Roost stall them and faint them. Brave bird is for Grass Poison types that may want to switch in on the toxic. Super Fang is to damage any poke that wont take more than 50% from a brave bird (Example Registeel) I run 248 HP to take the least amount from Stealth Rocks as possible. Infiltrator is a great ability on this poke all because of Toxic. Eviolite gives it even more bulk, making it a SpDefensive monster.

sceptile-mega.gif

ELECTRICITYAIN'TNOTIN (Sceptile) @ Sceptilite
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Fire]
This is the Mega/Special Sweeper for the team. I chose this pokemon because it outspeeds alot of things that the rest of my team can't, if delphox gets taken out. It also covers the electric weakness I had with Golbat. I run Max SpA and Speed for obvious reasons. Timid nature to outspeed even more. Leaf Storm is going to be a Final Gambit sort of move. Dragon Pulse is going to be the main attack. Focus Blast is for Steel types that get in his way and for Fighting Coverage. I run HP Fire for Fire Coverage but also for other steel types that are Bug/Steel

Common known threats: Mega Sharpedo (If it gets a free switch, it can take out anything except Hitmontop, which can't really do anything back so I have to get it early)

Thank you for reading this RMT.
Remember to Rate this team and give me suggestions for changes!
Please test the team first before even commenting, because in the last 2 RMT's I tried the suggestions but they worked out terribly.
Credit to Lotad Is Beast from WIFI Room for helping me!
Peace :)

Hey Hylian Shiled, you have a solid team there but I think a couple of changes can be done to improve it!

First, Gyro Ball isn't the best option on Doublade, sacrificing Speed for an unreliable steel STAB isn't the best idea in a sweeper like Doublade, this is why I suggest to replace Gyro Ball by Iron Head and adding 30 ivs to speed as well as 44 speed evs. Why 44 you ask? Because you can outspeed other Doublade and 0 speed Rhyperior and hit it with a strong STAB Iron Head. If you're still not convinced here are some calcs that prove why Iron Head is a superior option:

With Gyro Ball:

252+ Atk Doublade Gyro Ball (31 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Aromatisse: 90-108 (22.1 - 26.6%) -- 11% chance to 4HKO
252+ Atk Doublade Gyro Ball (38 BP) vs. 212 HP / 252 Def Solid Rock Rhyperior: 63-73 (14.8 - 17.2%) -- possible 9HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Doublade Gyro Ball (75 BP) vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Drapion: 111-132 (32.3 - 38.4%) -- 2.8% chance to 3HKO after Black Sludge recovery
+2 252+ Atk Doublade Gyro Ball (55 BP) vs. 132 HP / 0 Def Tangrowth: 145-172 (38.7 - 45.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

With Iron Head:

252+ Atk Doublade Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Aromatisse: 228-270 (56.1 - 66.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Doublade Iron Head vs. 212 HP / 252 Def Solid Rock Rhyperior: 126-150 (29.7 - 35.3%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Doublade Iron Head vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Drapion: 118-139 (34.4 - 40.5%) -- 49.1% chance to 3HKO after Black Sludge recovery
+2 252+ Atk Doublade Iron Head vs. 132 HP / 0 Def Tangrowth: 211-249 (56.4 - 66.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

You're dealing more damage to slower stuff and outspeeding some pokes :).

My second suggestion will be to
change Fake Out in Hitmontop for Foresight. Hitmontop can't touch most Ghost types aside from Toxic and without recovery Hitmontop will usually die before spinning those pesky Stealth Rocks which are a huge problem to your team because they deal 25% to Delphox, a pokemon that constantly switches in and out, and Golbat. Losing Fake Out isn't a big deal because it will rarely do a lot of damage considering that Hitmontop isn't a strong pokemon by any means and without attacking evs an unstabed 40 BP power will do tickles even to the frailest sweepers.

0 Atk Hitmontop Fake Out vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Sharpedo: 56-67 (19.9 - 23.8%) -- possible 5HKO
0 Atk Hitmontop Fake Out vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega-Sharpedo: 38-45 (13.5 - 16%) -- possible 7HKO
0 Atk Hitmontop Fake Out vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Dugtrio: 48-57 (22.7 - 27%) -- 40.7% chance to 4HKO

Doublade @ Eviolite
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 212 HP / 252 Atk / 44 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Iron Head
- Swords Dance
- Sacred Sword
- Shadow Sneak

Hitmontop (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Foresight
- Rapid Spin
- Close Combat
- Toxic

Hope I helped :)

Thanks, I just tested these changes and they worked out pretty well, but Sharpedo is still able to sweep my team with ease. Any suggested changes for that?

Hey! Cool team, I'm just going to offer two little suggestions.

First is to change Brave Bird on Golbat with Taunt. With his naturally fast speed, Golbat can shut down the likes of 0 Speed Gligar, Cresselia, Alomomola, and Registeel while you can whittle them down with Super Fang.

Second, and this is really just a nitpick, but if you'd like, Eelektross does get U-Turn since you're running a physical attacker, if you don't want to sacrifice speed or split EVs. This is entirely up to preference, as Volt Switch does have pros vs. physical walls.

Hope I could help, really fun team yet again.
