[SET COMMENTS]
An unparalleled Defense stat, a great defensive typing, and access to Curse make Mega Steelix a strong defensive setup sweeper in the Monotype metagame, easily dealing with Fairy, Normal, and Dragon teams. In conjunction with Mega Steelix's sky-high Defense stat, a single Curse boost allows it to survive attacks such as V-create from Choice Band Victini and Close Combat from +2 Mega Gallade. Heavy Slam nails Fairy-types like Tapu Bulu and Mega Diancie while dishing out large amounts of damage against neutral targets, allowing it to deal with most of the tier after a few boosts. Rest allows Mega Steelix to maintain longevity and cure any burns when against passive Pokemon such as Mandibuzz, Mega Sableye, and Klefki. Sleep Talk synergizes well with Rest, allowing it to potentially further set up with Curse or fire off a powerful Heavy Slam even when asleep, preventing foes from taking advantage of Rest. Due to its already sky-high Defense stat, maximum HP and Special Defense EVs are invested to increase Mega Steelix's special bulk, allowing it to better deal with special attackers like Latios and Alolan Ninetales. An Impish nature is used to ensure Mega Steelix survives a +6 Aqua Jet from Azumarill, KOing it back with Heavy Slam.

Gastrodon and Seismitoad act as great teammates, as they both provide a much needed immunity to Water-type attacks and are able to deal with threats to Mega Steelix, such as Mega Slowbro and Mantine. Landorus synergizes well with Mega Steelix, as it comfortably deals with some of Mega Steelix's checks in Toxapex, Ferrothorn, and Heatran while also acting as a great special wallbreaker. Mamoswine can deal with troublesome Ground-, Flying- and Dragon-type Pokemon such as Landorus, Zapdos, and Garchomp while also providing a form of priority thanks to Ice Shard. Nidoking works well with Mega Steelix, as it can better address the threat posed by Steel- and Flying-types that deal with Mega Steelix, such as Ferrothorn and Celesteela, by virtue of its wide coverage boosted by Sheer Force. Excadrill provides a way to check faster foes such as Cinderace and also deals with offensive threats such as Heatran while providing secondary hazard control thanks to Rapid Spin; it is also able to act as reliable wallbreaker with Swords Dance. Garchomp can form a strong physical wallbreaker core in tandem with Mega Steelix, since Swords Dance lets it break past some of Mega Steelix's checks in Mantine and Toxapex. Gliscor can cripple both offensive and defensive Pokemon thanks to Knock Off and Taunt, which Mega Steelix appreciates greatly, while also removing troublesome Spikes with Defog. Hippowdon can be a great teammate, as it sets up sand, activating Mega Steelix's Sand Force, while also providing Stealth Rock support.

Other Options
=============

Mega Steelix can opt for a Careful nature over an Impish nature for increased special bulk against threats like Latios at the cost of some physical bulk on teams that have more reliable ways to deal with Azumarill.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-resistant Pokemon:** Most Steel-resistant Pokemon such as Heatran, Toxapex, and Ferrothorn have little to no trouble switching in against Mega Steelix and can easily take advantage of Heavy Slam being its only attacking move.

**Water-types:** Water-type Pokemon such as Mega Slowbro, Keldeo, and Suicune can freely switch in against Mega Steelix, take very little damage from Heavy Slam, and threaten to use Mega Steelix as setup bait. Even water-types that can't set up like Kingdra can easily deal with Mega Steelix with their super effective STAB moves, especially if they're special attackers.

**Special Wallbreakers:** Due to its mediocre Special Defense stat, strong special attackers such as Landorus and Volcarona can OHKO Mega Steelix with ease.

**Stallbreakers:** Stallbreakers such as Mew and Gliscor easily break through Mega Steelix, as it heavily relies on its utility moves in Curse, Rest, and Sleep Talk. Taunt from either can completely shut down Mega Steelix, while Mew can also threaten to burn it with Will-O-Wisp.

**Haze and Phazers:** As Mega Steelix heavily relies on Curse boosts, common Haze users such as Toxapex and Mantine and phazers such as Hippowdon and Skarmory disrupt its attempts to sweep.

note: remove the spacing inbetween set comments and the paragraph
- in the intro line change these few things: its spelled curse, also instead of decent setup sweeper say strong defensive setup. i think that captures what it is better
- mention some stuff curse helps it beat
- in the heavy slam line no need to mention steelix is a fatty, just focus on what it does. give a few good examples of heavy slam targets like bulu
- give a good example of what its spd helps with like vs latios
- would prioritize gastrodon over seismitoad here, due to the fact that steelix can beat azumarill making gastro the better partner here. you can even remove seismitoad altogether if you wish

[other options]
- if you want to add a careful nature it is not because the team has a more solid way of taking on azumarill. mega steelix is the best check to azumarill the type has to offer. what does careful nature helps steelix beat

[checks and counters]
- in water types, you want to mention that they can hit steelix with super effective water attacks, adding an extra layer then just resisting its attack. also talk about how they can fish for burns with scald or beat it easier if they are special attackers

Unparalleled Defense stat, great defensive typing and access to Curse makes Steelix an strong defensive setup sweeper within the Monotype metagame, easily dealing with matchups such as Fairy, Normal, and Dragon. Curse boosts Mega Steelix's Attack and Defense by one stage. In conjunction with Mega Steelix's sky-high Defense stat, a single Curse boost allows it to live attacks such as V-Create from Choice Band Victini and Close Combat from +2 Mega Gallade (did minor fixes here). Heavy Slam acts as Mega Steelix's only attack move, nailing Fairy-types like Tapu Bulu and Mega Diancie while dishing out large amounts of damage against neutral targets, allowing it to deal with most of the tier after a few boosts (This sentence was rather awkward in your original version, so I think you meant KOing Fairies like Bulu and neutral targets hard). Rest allows Mega Steelix to heal up, maintaining longevity and cure any status conditions against passive Pokemon such as Mandibuzz, Mega Sableye and Klefki, allowing it to act as a potent set up sweeper. Sleep Talk synergizes well with Rest, allowing it to potentially further set up with Curse or fire off powerful Heavy Slams even when asleep, preventing opposing set up users to take advantage of Rest. Due to its already sky-high Defense stat, maximum HP and SpD EVs are invested to increase Mega Steelix's special bulk, allowing it to better deal with special attackers like Latios and Alolan Ninetales. An Impish nature is used to ensure Mega Steelix survives a +6 Aqua Jet from Azumarill, KOing it back with Heavy Slam.

Gastrodon and Seismitoad act as great teammates, as they both provide a much needed Water-type immunity and are able to deal with threats to Mega Steelix, such as Mega Slowbro (Fini sets up for free on Clear Smog-less Gastrodon and Power Whip-less Seismitoad) and Mantine, with their moves (Further describe why Gastrodon pairs well with Mega Steelix in the next sentence, emphasizing why it's the preferred water immunity. I think Seis deserves at least a mention, which is why I re-included it in the first sentence). Landorus synergizes well with Mega Steelix as it comfortably deals with some of Mega Steelix's checks in Toxapex, Ferrothorn, and Heatran while also acting as a great special wallbreaker. Mamoswine pairs well as it can deal with troublesome Ground-, Flying-, and Dragon-type Pokemon such as Landorus, Zapdos, and Garchomp while also providing a form of priority move thanks to Ice Shard. Nidoking pairs well with Steelix as it can ameliorate the threat posed by Steel- and Flying-types that deal with Mega Steelix, such as Ferrothorn and Celesteela, by virtue of its wide, Sheer Force-boosted coverage. Excadrill provides a form of speed control and also deals with offensive threats such as Cinderace and Heatran while providing secondary hazard control thanks to Rapid Spin (definitely mention Exca can wallbreak with its Swords Dance sets). Garchomp can act as a strong physical wallbreaker core in tandem with Mega Steelix, thanks to Swords Dance, breaking past some of Mega Steelix's checks in Mantine and Toxapex. Gliscor can cripple both offensive and defensive Pokemon thanks to Knock Off and Taunt, which Mega Steelix appreciates greatly, while also removing troublesome Spikes with Defog (moved this down as Gliscor is far less relevant than the other partners listed above; also, Gliscor's primary function alongside Mega Steelix is to annoy stuff with its stallbreaking set; defog is secondary as M-Steelix takes zero from SR and only really fears the uncommon Spikes).

- Add Hippowdon as a partner that can trigger Sand Force and set Stealth Rock for Mega Steelix; since it's a very niche option alongside it (but relevant enough, as seen by some Ground teams running M-Steelix sand), you should add it in the final sentence.
