ORAS OU Mega-Venusaur and Tyranitar Core

This is my first RMT so sorry for the bad formatting, I am still learning.

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Leech Seed
- Synthesis

I choose Venusaur because it is really good defensive core, even more so now that Mega-Metagross is being suspect tested. It also puts offensive pressure against fairy types with sludge bomb and against water types with giga drain. Besides type coverage I choose Mega-Venusaur to wall rain teams. I choose synthesis and leech seed over other moves like hp-fire to stall pokemon that cannot 2 hit KO Venusaur and get the residual damage with leech seed.

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Pursuit
- Stealth Rock

Tyranitar;s typing and move set covers Venusaur weakeness to flying and psychic. I went for a specially defensive set because Mega-Venusaur is a good stop to physical attackers and so I made my Tyranitar specially defensive to make my teams core. Tyranitar move set is pretty standard; I have stealth rock for hazard damage, stone edge for flying types, earthquake to deal with steel types, and pursuit to revenge kill especially Latios and Latias.

clefable.jpg

Clefable @ Lum Berry
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Toxic
- Protect
- Wish

I choose Unaware Clefable to stop other pokemon from setting up. My main reasoning for this pokemon is Mega-Sableye which is a huge threat on OU. I gave Clefable the lum berry to get this pokemon status free so I can wish stall pokemon is needed. Clefable is very good and alot of teams are unprepared for this monster. I made this more of a defensive pokemon to stop physical attacking dragons that Tyranitar can't handle and I also put 0 attack IVs to stop foul play for doing as much.

keldeo-resolute.jpg

Keldeo-Resolute @ Leftovers
Ability: Justified
EVs: 8 HP / 252 SpA / 248 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Substitute
- Secret Sword
- Calm Mind

Substitute Calm Mind Keldeo is this team's sweeper. I choose Keldeo because with its speed and high special attacke it is able to catch people off guard and substitute on alot of pokemon; with a couple calm minds up it can OHKO alot of pokemon, My team is also weak to fire and steel types so I thought it was a good fit. I picked hydro pump over scald for the extra damage but change it out with scald if you want to be more accurate.

Talonflame @ Choice Band
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Taunt

Talonflame with a choiceband is this teams revenge killer. It is also my lead if I do not have a better choice because I can taunt to stop any hazards then hard switch into a better match up. I have a standard EV set and I choose adamant nature over jolly to do more damage since Talonflames speed is already so good.

380.png

Latias (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psychic
- Roost
- Defog

I needed a defog/spinner on my team to allow my talonflame to have free switches so I choose Latias. I mainly choose Latias for type coverage and I choose it over Latios to give my team a little more bulk.
Psychic is on Latias over psyshock because it is a not as common and it might catch some people off guard.

On Venusaur you should run sleep powder over synthesis because synthesis only restores 25% HP in the sand. Also, on latias, healing wish over roost is something you may wont to think about. On Keldeo, on the calm mind set you should always run scald over hydro pump for more pp and the burn chance, and you run max speed, not 248 speed. Leftovers on Clefable would be a much better item becuase with the protect you can get a lot more recovery.

thanks for the advice! do you think there is a better option to take latias' place on the team

actually a way for tyranitar to be a better spcial wall would be to put assult vest, even though you cant set up rocks you get a crazy 734 spcial def and your attack which will be at 305 is still pretty good.

Yo man, this team looks really good but I have some small suggestions.

First of all, you may consider Leftovers over Lum Berry and Heal Bell over Toxic on Clefable. This way you can still deal with status (the opponent can just induce status after Lum Berry's turn) AND support your teammates with it. Seeing T-Tar doesnt rly like burns and Talonflame / Latias hate paralysis it could be better, Leftovers provide reliable recovery. Toxic, I don't feel like it provides really that much utility. I feel like Heal Bell is more important.

Furthermore, I suggest using Scald over Hydro Pump on your SubCM Keldeo. Keldeo doesn't really need the extra power when setting up its Special Attack already, and it can miss too, which is not really appreciated. Scald has very good base power as well and can burn opponents upon switch in, and with that, cripple physical attackers.

Lastly, I suggest using Tailwind over Taunt on your Talonflame. Taunt, meh. I feel like it doesn't really fit on it. Instead, Tailwind is a good move for when Talonflame is about to faint, especially when it really helps your Keldeo and Latias. (For example, Latias 100% Gengar and Lati@s now).

T-Wave could be used over Earthquake on T-Tar because it provides p redundant coverage and T-Wave cripples opposing attackers and allows a teammate to revenge kill them, but that's your choice.

Hope I helped!
