ORAS OU Mega Venusaur Team

Hi everyone,
I've been using this team for a while now, and I've won more than I've lost, but I can't quite figure out what changes could put this team over the top. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

1) Mega Venusaur

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
Nature: Bold
EVs: 252 HP / 94 Def / 144 SpD / 18 Spe
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Synthesis
- Leech Seed

Mega Venusaur was the first member of my team. It gives me a bulky Pokemon that can take fighting type moves unlike Chansey. It's a good switch in to stall Tyranitar and other sweepers. Leech Seed and Synthesis let M-Venusaur stick around and continue to wall my opponent, as does Giga Drain. Giga Drain also gives me STAB coverage to take out Water, Ground, and Rock types, while Sludge Bomb is great STAB coverage for Fairy-types that threaten my Dragonite.

2) Tyranitar

Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
- Stone Edge
- Ice Fang
- Earthquake
- Crunch

Tyranitar's STAB Rock typing gives me a great option to handle flying types. By giving it a choice band, I ensure that almost any super-effective move I get off is a OHKO. The HP Investment lets Tyranitar take a hit or two to get off some attacks, and can give me an extra switch-in. Obviously, being banded, every attack varies in type. Crunch and Stone Edge give me STAB coverage, Ice Fang takes out most dragons, and Earthquake just gives me some extra coverage. One downside is the Sandstorms that follow using Tyranitar, but I don't necessarily think it is enough of a downside to replace him.

3) Skarmory

Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
Nature: Impish
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
- Roost
- Spikes
- Brave Bird
- Whirlwind

Skarmory's Steel typing and the Defense/HP Investment give me a solid Physical wall. The Rocky Helmet helps to ward off physical attackers as well, while sturdy insures that Skarmory doesn't go down on the first turn. I usually lead with Skarmory to get off Spikes, and then switch out to save him for later. Whirlwind is useful in getting rid of Pokemon that try to set up, and Roost keeps Skarmory around longer than usual. Brave Bird is included incase Skarmory gets Taunted, and Roost can usually cover the recoil damage.

4) Chansey

Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Bold
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
- Toxic
- Flamethrower
- Heal Bell
- Soft-Boiled

Chansey is my team's main wall. Eviolite and the EV investment make it able to take multiple hits from both special and physical attackers very well. Toxic and Soft-Boiled create a great combo that allow me to stall out most Pokemon. Flamethrower is included in case of a taunt and to allow Chansey to deal some damage. Heal Bell can be a real savior for the rest of my team, especially when facing a team that inflicts heavy statuses. Chansey gives me cover for Ice, Psychic, and Fire moves that threaten Mega Venusaur. I've played around with Wish in place of both Heal Bell and Soft-Boiled, but I think I like this moveset best.

5) Dragonite

Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Ability: Multiscale
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Extreme Speed

Dragonite provides my team with a second physical sweeper. When Dragonite gets a Dragon Dance or two up, all three of his attacks provide me with great options to take out opponents. The Lum Berry also allows for Outrage to be used once without worrying about confusion. I've also had the Lum Berry save me from Toxic, Will-O-Wisp, and Thunder Wave in the Past. Extreme Speed is a great attack for Dragonite's final turn becuase it almost always guarantees that Dragonite will get off one final attack before going down.

6) Alakazam
alakazam.gif

Alakazam @ Life Orb
Ability: Synchronize
Nature: Timid
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Focus Blast

Alakazam is this team's only special sweeper. If it can get up a Substitute and Calm Mind once or twice, along with its Life Orb, both Psychic and Focus Blast can take down most Pokemon. The Psychic typing gives the team a solid typing spread, and Focus Blast gives Alakazam a good option to take down Chanseys and other physical walls/sweepers that are Normal and Steel type. I began using this Alakazam with Shadow Ball instead of Focus Blast, but I've found that Focus Blast just provides better attack coverage. Even if I am unable to use Substitute and Calm Mind, the speed investment allows me to get off a powerful Psychic or Focus Blast before most Pokemon can hit Alakazam.

Other Notes: This team was the first team I created for X and Y, but I abandoned it pretty soon after I began using it. I've recently come back to for ORAS, and, with a couple modifications, have had decent success with it. One Pokemon that does really trouble this team is Ferrothorn. With Leftovers and Leech Seed, Chansey's Flamethrower is the only move that gives me a chance against it, and I need the burn for that to happen. I've toyed with the idea of giving a Fire type move to Tyranitar or Dragonite, but I'm not sure what I would replace. Any suggestions/Help are greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

To answer your question about beating ferro, you can just run fire punch on dragonite. This means you have no coverage against Heatran but it's also better against scizor and skarm. I'd definitely recommend this espeically because it opens up another move slot on chansey; flamethrower is a pretty sub-optimal move anyway.

I'd also recommend running Pursuit > Ice Fang on Tyranitar, it gives great utility in killing pokemon such as Lati@s and Gengar that don't want to stay in against it and is one of the primary reasons to use this kind of Tyranitar in the first place.
