Meowscarada
[SET]
name: CRITTY CAT
Move 1: Flower Trick
Move 2: Knock Off
Move 3: Play Rough / Sucker Punch
Move 4: U-turn / Taunt / Trick
Item: Choice Band / Choice Scarf / Focus Sash
Ability: Protean / Overgrow
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
[SET COMMENTS]
* With its good Attack, Speed, and access to Flower Trick and Knock Off, Meowscarada is a potent cleaner cleaner that is also hard to switch into.
* With its guaranteed critical hit, Flower Trick is a dangerous cleaning move once resistances to it have been sufficiently chipped.
* Trick can help Choice-locked sets incapacitate an annoying wall, such as Dondozo or Amoonguss, by locking them into a single move.
Abilities
==========
**Protean**: Protean’s type-shifting allows Meowscarada to make the most of its colorful movepool, particularly on Choice-locked sets, where the limitation to only changing types once is effectively nullified.
**Overgrow**: If you intend to make use of a Tera type other than Grass or switch moves often, Overgrow is worth considering, as it allows Meowscarada more flexibility with its moves by not changing type and removing STAB from Flower Trick or Knock Off.
Items
==========
**Choice Band**: Choice Band boosted Meowscarada hits incredibly hard, and with its naturally high Speed it can serve as a cleaner and a potential wallbreaker.
**Choice Scarf**: With the Speed offered via Choice Scarf, Meowscarada can threaten otherwise faster foes, such as Dragapult, potentially putting more pressure on offensive teams.
**Focus Sash**: Focus Sash allows Meowscarada to bypass its rather lackluster bulk, allowing it to take a hit and potentially grab two KOs when it might’ve otherwise only gotten one.
Tera Types
==========
**Grass-type**: While Terastallizing does override Protean, Tera Grass Meowscarada can be used to power through teams ill-prepared for it. Dual Screens teams in particular are especially vulnerable to the sheer power of Choice Band-boosted Tera Grass Flower Trick.
