RMT 2
Ok, so, this being my second RMT, I decided to make a team that I believe can pwn most of the metagame it is now, afaik.
YES I KNOW MANAPHY IS BANNED FROM OU, WHEN THIS WAS WRITTEN, SHE WASN'T.
I started with Rampardos and Haxorus because they are a COMBAT DUO, but then I needed a wall, so in came Wimsicott. Kojondo (Mienshao) is one of my favorite 5th gen Pokemon, so I added him too. Staraptor and Manaphy came in for mainly the type coverage, but I love Manaphy's blank canvas base stat spread, you can do a lot with Manaphy. I had to swap Kojondo out for Chandelure because I was too physical (XD), and physical walls could totally rape me.
Wimsicott (sp33dcore)
240 HP / 252 Def / 16 speed @Leftovers
Relaxed Nature
- Taunt
- Encore
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
Wimsicott has what I call inverse four move-slot syndrome. There is just so much you can do with it that you can't really decide. This set can outspeed other Wimsicott and I believe neutral speed Tornelos. Encore people into stat-boosting moves and taunt them when you get bored. Pull constant recovery with Leech Seed and Leftovers. If you can seed a Blissey, :D. Yes I just used :D as a verb, sue me. :P I have used this set to stall for 45 turns in a rotation battle, really.
Haxorus (Neener)
252 Atk / 252 Speed / 6 HP @Lum Berry
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Brick Break
- X-Scissor
- Earthquake
Outrage is base 120. With stab it is base 180. Considering his base 147 attack and 252 Attack EV's and Adamant nature, he just kills things dead. Outrage should be used over Dragon Claw, but that would lock you into outrage a lot. Brick Break is there both for coverage and stopping dual-screeners. X-Scissor to take care of those pesky Psychic and Dark types, and Earthquake just because its earthquake with MOLD BREAKER. If I get lucky, this guy can 6-0 teams. This set has a lot of late and end game flexibility due to its lack of choiced-ness. He can hit with powerful moves, then change to other ones. This guy is most likely Uber, especially if his dream world ability becomes Sheer Force. I really wish this guy was Bug-Dragon, that would make him so much more deadly with stab X-Scissor and stab Outrage.
Rampardos (KILL3R)
252 Atk/252 Speed/6 HP @Focus Sash
Ability: Mold Breaker / Sheer Force
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Head Smash
- Fire Punch
- Zen Headbutt
Everybody is your enemy, so abuse that. Rampardos is a powerful beast, so abuse this. Use Head Smash once you get sashed, after that he isn't that useful anyway. Protect every other turn if you can, it will help his longevity. If you use Sheer Force, just hit them and watch them die. Fire Punch is for stuff like Scizor and Forretress, as it will end them. Zen Headbutt ends Rampardos threads such as Conkeldurr. This guy is my massive middle finger to the tiers, as this guy will just hit you in the face and watch you die. Mold Breaker is preferred, but Sheer Force KILLS THEM.
Staraptor (FS)
6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Speed @Sitrus Berry
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Close Combat
- Roost
- Protect
I use the FizzyStardust approach to battling here, by brave birding everything. Close Combat for coverage against rocks, and Roost for HP gain (and Sitrus Berry for that matter). This guy can take out most of OU and a lot of Ubers. This guy may look like dead weight, but he can stop the bulky grass types that this team is threatened by. My Kojondo can probably do the same job, but this guy hits harder. Roost on this set is invaluable, as the recoil damage will stack.
Manaphy (glowStone)
252 HP / 252 Special Attack / 6 Speed @Focus Sash
Modest Nature
- Tail Glow
- Surf
- Hidden Power Ground
- Ice Beam
Standard Manaphy sweeper, not much to say in detail. Watch out for Electric and Grass types, but this move set can handle them admirably with it’s hidden power Ground. I cannot see this getting less than one KO on the opponent, but I’ve been wrong in the past.
Chandelure (ZOAMBIE)
252 Special Attack / 252 speed / 6 HP @Wise Glasses
Modest Nature
- Heat Wave
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
- Attract / Protect
This guy is illegal in standard play with attract, but few enough people use it that it doesn’t matter. Protect will be used where Attract is banned. Wise Glasses chosen to masquerade the specs, then watch them switch into Marshtomp, Seismitoad, or Gastrodon. Then Energy Ball, they will DIE. You probably could go with another nature, but that’s your choice, :P.
Synergy Strategy:
In doubles, this team can be deadly, in singles, you will have to think on your feet. Pretty much all of OU is after you, and that Rampardos is a big-ass target on your neck. Possible changes for doubles are a Anger Power bulky Volcarona, because it can take those hits that Rampardos cannot.
