Hello I'm relatively new here on Smogon, but I have an idea to benefit the community for both new and experienced players. When I'm building teams I'm always checking to make sure I'm covering all the current threats as any godd teambuilder. However, I'm not always sure that the threats I'm covering are worth it.
With the ever changing trends in the metagame it can be hard to keep up. I've even read about trends thatt have last no longer than a few weeks! Therefore I'd like a tool to where I can see a line chart of a pokemon's usage. I knoow the tiers are based on usage but still some pokemon are used exponentially more than others. (Are you really going to tell me that Abomasnow is used more than Scizor?)
I think it will be helpful to all of us if we can have a tool that would allow us to see this. I know there are some articles in the smog that has pointed out some of the threats but after reading those artiles I ask myself, "Is this still viable?", "Is this pokemon still such a threat or has it proved to not be as useful as predicted?". With the metagame constantly changing it would be nessecary for this tool to be weekly or at the very least monthly updated. It would also be a fun tool to use when we can see the rise in one pokemon decreases the use in another one. Remember that not all of us here on Smogon battle day in and day out so to the more infrequent battlers they can only guess how the metagame trends have changed. This tool could help enrichen the knowledge of the people here on Smogon and help make the team building process one bit easier.
