Metagross @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 52 Atk / 16 Def / 128 SpD / 60 Spe
Impish Nature
- Cosmic Power
- Body Press
- Ice Punch
- Protect
This Steel-type supercomputer has the potential to act as a game-ending setup sweeper in DOU! Its high natural bulk, when combined with defensive boosts from Cosmic Power, allows it to take hits from some of the tier's strongest attackers like Landorus and Heatran, making it extremely hard to kill, while Body Press allows it to exert decent offensive pressure. Metagross's typing also has good synergy with Cosmic Power, as its able to setup on common Pokemon like Rillaboom, Diancie, and Kyurem-B. Ice Punch is also another point in Metagross's favor, as it allows it to hit the two most common Fighting-resitant Pokemon, Landorus and Dragapult, super effectively. Rillaboom is a great partner for Cosmic Power Metagross, as it not only checks Urshifu-R, which would otherwise crit through Metagross's Defense Boosts, but its Grassy Terrain makes Metagross significantly harder to kill. Landorus is another good teammate, as it can help deal with Fire-types like Heatran and Volcanion who would threaten Metagross before it could set up.
