To Live is to Die is my favorite song off this album, and One is my least favorite (haha). One starts out really great in my opinion but the thrash section in it doesn't really gel with me, and the last guitar solo is just Kirk playing as many notes as he can as fast as he can; they don't even fit in with the time signature.
Overall, it's not quite as thrashed out as their other works, it doesn't sound quite as polished, and the bass is mixed waaay too low, but I like most of the songs on this album more than I like the songs off the previous albums. They don't sound as good, but I think they are better songs, and had they been recorded with the same intensity as Master of Puppets, this album would totally be my favorite.

Blackened is the best opening track in a metallica album, maybe second only to Fight Fire with Fire IMO
