Topic Title: Mewtwo (Anti-Lead)
http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/mewtwo
[SET]
name: Anti-Lead Mewtwo
move 1: Grass Knot
move 2: Selfdestruct/Focus Blast/Aura Sphere
move 3: Flamethower
move 4: Ice Beam
item: Expert Belt
nature: Timid/Hasty
evs: 22 HP / 252 SpA / 232 Spe
Why this set deserves to be on-site:
- It Can take out quite a few leads. Acts like Lead Quaza in do or die area.
-Counters Leadquaza thanks to more speed, a common Anti-Lead.
-Can take care of quite a few leads thanks to it's good movepool.
-Has late game use.

Additional Comments:
-Lum Berry is possible to run if you want to absorb Darkrai's sleep, or Kyogres thunder wave. Although, with this change it misses out on the 2HKO on Dialga.

Teammates and Counters:
-Scarf Shaymin leads can flinch to death, although not always.
-Giratina-O can take it out with Draco Meteor + Shadow Sneak.
-Lum Berry helps against scarf Darkrai leads. Nasty plot leads get outrun and KO'd by Aura Sphere.

-Having a Darkrai counter like Scizor or Sleep Absorber is reccomended.
-Something that can counter Giratina-O. Tyranitar can take Draco Meteor and hit back. Have decent synergy. Dialga can be used although takes a amount from Draco Meteor.
-Forretress as Deoxys sets up 2 layers without to much trouble. Forry can RS all them away.

My first QC!

Under why the set deserves to be on-site, add the word "it" before "can" both occasions, "Acts", "Counters", and "Has". The word "Speed" is capitalized. You should also replace the period after speed with a comma.

Under Additional comments there should be an apostrophe between the 'i' and 's' in Darkrais. Another one is needed between the 'e' and 's' in Kyogres. Thunder Wave should be capitalized. The second sentence is a fragment. It could be rephrased to It does miss out on 2HKO on Dialga though.

Under Teammates and Counters Change the third point to say "Lum Berry helps against scarf Darkrai leads. Nasty plot leads get outrun and KO'd by Aura Sphere."

You spelled recommended incorrectly too. Change "Something that can counter Giratina-O. Tyranitar can take Draco Meteor and hit back. Have decent synergy. Dialga can be used although takes a amount from Draco Meteor." to "Something that can counter Giratina-O is recommended. Take out the "Have decent synergy." It is a fragment and also is difficult to determine what has decent synergy. In the final sentence there should be a comma after "used".

The set seems solid since it can outpace Skymin that aren't equiped with choice scarf. Ice Beam does seem a bit more debatable since its main purpose is for Rayquaza, Salamence, and Garchomp. Shadow Ball is supereffective against most of the dragons. I believe Flamethrower is a better option since it gives insurance against Scizor, Bronzong, Forretress, and Jirachi. Life Orb could be considered as an item as well to make its hits more powerful.

You'll lose to LeadQuaza if its holding Focus Sash as Draco Meteor+ExtremeSpeed KOs Mewtwo.

Likewise, you'll also lose to Deoxys-A leads that carries Shadow Ball+ExtremeSpeed.

Interesting set nonetheless.

Thank You! Most lead Ray don't carry Sash though, as they lose a decent amount of power.

LeadQuaza usually don't carry Focus Sash, they usually carry Lum Berry or Life Orb (in all my encounters with LeadQuaza, I've seen only 1 sash) in order to beat Darkrai or gain much need power, resepctively.

As for Deoxys-A, LeadM2 will win if it uses Stealth Rock first turn. If it instead KOs LeadM2, Your priority user will take it out next turn. Either they lose their Rocks or their lead, so LeadM2 has done its job.

I like this set. I saw something similar to it twice (with Focus Sash), and it screwed my Kyogre lead. Also, add in that TrickScarf leads such as Darkrai or Jirachi do beat LeadM2, but Mewtwo becomes a blazing fast revenge killer later on in the game, even preventing Deoxys-S, who might have switched out after that first Shadow Ball, from getting hazards up. This set is solid, and it just proves that Mewtwo can run ANY set, ANY role, and ANY position on ANY Ubers team.

I made this QC quick so I didn't include everything xD. I'll add that though. Either way Mewtwo gets it's job done often.

This is my set!!

There is really no strategy behind this lead, all it does is mindlessly fire off strong attacks and deal as much damage as possible in the beginning of the game. This doesn't seem very effective on paper but it worked pretty well for me during the time I used it.

Life Orb is a better item than Expert Belt since it allows Flamethrower to 2HKO Deoxys-S and it gives you a huge chance of OHKOing Groudon with Grass Knot. Lum Berry is also an option if you really want to beat lead Darkrai but you'd need to use Focus Blast for the OHKO.

Shadow Ball has no reason being on the set. Flamethrower 2HKOs Deoxys-S which is what Shadow Ball does because of Focus Sash. Flamethrower is absolutely necessary on this set because it lets you kill Forretress turn 1 (nobody expects Flamethrower coming from Mewtwo). It is also useful for OHKOing confident Scizor switch-ins that try to revenge you with U-Turn.

Selfdestruct can be slashed with Aura Sphere since the best you can do is beat Darkrai with extremely low HP remaining, it's easier just to boom.

As mentioned above, Focus Blast is also an option if you're willing to gamble with low accuracy. Focus Blast would probably be a better option if you're using Lum Berry, so that you OHKO Darkrai and can't fall asleep (the "Darkrai counter" set). Focus Blast with Life Orb has a chance to OHKO Defensive lead Dialga while Aura Sphere doesn't (64.4% - 75.7% vs. 84.7% - 100%), not a big difference but whatever.

You should also mention that this set is good when it's paired with a spinner (Forretress I guess, how many others are there?) because Deoxys-S can set up entry hazards vs Mewtwo pretty easily. This set is usually most effective after Deoxys-S dies because they have no idea what moves Mewtwo has and they have to blindly send in a Pokemon to try and revenge kill him. At full HP (or 80% from Life Orb), Mewtwo will pretty much survive any attack that isn't Super Effective, which means he can possibly get another KO or deal a lot of damage to whatever the opponent has out. This is where selfdestruct would be extremely useful, so it should definitely be slashed with Aura Sphere and mentioned somewhere.

PDC gave this set to me so it's mine now (thanks for editting in my changes)

I'll take those changes. Sorry about your set. =( I just came up with it yesterday when I was bored.

One big problem in this set is Deoxys-S. It doesn't stop any form of Deoxys getting up 2 layers against you, which for an Ubers anti-lead should be quite alarming (Losing to #1 lead is the best idea for a lead). Perhaps include Taunt, so if they do decide to go for the SR instead of Taunting you, you can limit it down to one layer and deal with it later.

That doesn't solve the problem at all actually. Taunting Deoxys after it gets rocks up only forces it to switch out at full health and come back later to get Spikes up. The best strategy against Deoxys is to 2HKO him and then bring out a spinner late in the game and get rid of the hazards. Either that or put Mewtwo on an extremely offensive team that doesn't care about Stealth Rock and Spikes. Taunt is really not an option though.
