[SET COMMENTS]
Magic Guard Talonflame utilizes its great Speed tier, good power, and bevy of utility moves to function as one of the best late-game sweepers in the tier. Brave Bird's excellent power and neutral coverage allow Talonflame to effectively run mono-attacking sets while still forcing out most offensive Pokemon, like Meowscarada and Galarian Zapdos. Bulk Up provides insurance against revenge killers like Chien-Pao and Choice Scarf users, while Swords Dance offers faster setup. Taunt is the preferred last move to take advantage of passive foes like Unaware Scream Tail and Well-Baked Body Corviknight, turning them into setup fodder; Will-O-Wisp provides team support by crippling bulky foes like Garganacl and Garchomp. Flare Blitz is a final option to provide coverage for Steel-types like Kingambit and Iron Treads. Talonflame struggles with special Choice Scarf users like Sandy Shocks and Greninja, as they can force it out no matter how much it has set up, so teammates like Hisurian Goodra are excellent partners. Bulky Flying-resistant foes like Glimmora and Zapdos frustrate Talonflame, making teammates like Greninja and Garchomp that threaten them valuable. Talonflame truly shines in long games, as it can outlast its checks, so bulkier teammates like Intimidate Corviknight, RegenVest Meloetta, and Unaware Scream Tail that can help it get in multiple times are recommended.

Brave Bird's excellent power and neutral coverage allows Talonflame to effectively run mono-attacking sets while still forcing out most offensive Pokemon like Meowscarada and Galarian Zapdos. Bulk Up provides insurance against revenge killers like Chien-Pao and Zamazenta-Crowned, while Swords Dance offers faster setup. Taunt is the preferred last move to take advantage of passive foes like Unaware Scream Tail and Well-Baked Body Corviknight, turning them into setup fodder; Will-O-Wisp provides team support and cripples bulky foes like Garganacl and Garchomp. Talonflame can struggle with Flying resists that can threaten to OHKO it back such as Zapdos and Glimmora, should mention teammates that can beat them such as Greninja or Volcanion. Talonflame truly shines in long games as it can outlast its checks, so bulkier teammates like Intimidate Corvinight, RegenVest Meloetta, and Unaware Scream Tail that can help it get in multiple times are recommended.
