What's the craze that's sweeping the world? That's right! Minesweeper!

You remember that trial and error, that pulse pounding excitement, the possibilities of your click either clearing an assload of blocks and getting some numbers, or clicking on a mine!

But nobody knows how to play.

So gaming geeks, I wanna figure out how to play this game. Don't declare warcraft on the world, don't scape for another single rune, because I call you to action. Go sweep some mines.
 
its a good game that past the time when i'm on a foreign computer for a long time but not anything serious i would want to play unless there were big prizes involved.

You play by clicking randomly untill you click that assload of blocks you mentioned earlier.Corner blocks that are not surrounded by blocks usually have a mine, so you right click it. Then you do processes of elimination to get another guaranteed mine spot. Then you do it again and again untill you catch all the mines then you win. SO the object is basically using right click to minimize and predict which blocks have mines underthem.
 
minesweeper passes the time but im kind of shitty at it

i can only win on expert like 1 out of 10 times (after I get a large area uncovered)
 
I dunno, Minesweeper just hasn't been the same for me ever since they removed the little smiley face man.

It's really not that difficult. Click on a square. See the number? That's the number of mines there are in the 8 squares surrounding the square you clicked on. You have to figure out where it is.

Ta-da, you now know how to play Minesweeper.

SHIFT + XYZZY

Look in the lower left (iirc) corner for a pixel that changes between black and white with whether the thing is safe or not.

I think that's the code.

At first it was just random, then I played it for real, then I stopped.

There's one constant though: I'm still bored.
 
It's a fun game, don't get me wrong, but the graphics could use some real improvement, the story is weak at best and the soundtrack is definetely not worth turning off mute. ;)
 
WHAT! they took out the smiley guy? I haven't played this since I moved here and started using macs, but I remember playing on easy and getting my time at 1 second due to clearing all the blocks in one click. that was epic/
 
I once won easy in 2 clicks, stunned reaction made my time 8 sec...

Hard mode you win... Easy mode, try for 7 sec >:D
